The clock turned slowly, so slowly. I had forgotten where I was. Sitting in the velvet chair, running my fingers over the soft texture. I don't know if I was dreaming or what, but it was long enough to catch the attention of Dr. Remeriz. Just before I could blink a second time, my attention was caught.
"Evelyn? Hello!" Dr. Remeriz spoke.
I jumped, startled by the realization I was yet again daydreaming at therapy. I looked up at my doctor. A smirk on her face. She knew just as well as me that my attention span was short. If looks could shoot bullets,, I think I'd be on the floor. Fumbling to find the right words to reply, I was cut off by a bell. my Time was up.
"Your next appointment is on Thursday," Dr. Remeriz scolded, "And please pay attention next time!" She laughed.
I nodded and left the building. The elevator was no use since it was infested with people, so I had to take the stairs. Walking down, I felt a push. The next thing I knew was I was falling down onto my knees. Dropping everything in my hands. Cursing under my breath, I proceeded to pick up my belongings. I pressed the pressure points between my nose and took deep breaths.
Getting overwhelmed was not gonna help anything. I got up and continued down the stairs. It was odd about the circumstances of my fall. There was no one around to have pushed me. I shrugged it off and continue to the local coffee shop.

I grabbed the handle of the door to LA Cafe and Stay. I smiled and greeted everyone who knew who I was. I was a regular. I came every week after therapy. Every Friday to be exact. I sat down in my usual spot and took out a book I had kept on hand. Engrossing myself in the book. All of a sudden, a figure sat down in front of me.
"Hi, I'm Elijah, and you must be the famous Evelyn."
I looked up from my book. Shocked by the bold move this guy had decided to pull on me, and truth be told, it made me nervous.
"Hi, how did you know my name?" I asked him.
"I'm also a regular. I was talking to the barista and she told me about how your also a regular, and well I thought I'd come to say hi to your beautiful self"
I looked at Elijah, heat rising to my cheeks. Sadly, he noticed the blushing and smiled. I had to take control of the situation.
"Well Elijah, I have some reading to do," I replied. I admired him, he was handsome. Dark hair and piercing grey eyes. His jawline was firm and strong. I shook my head away from the thought of his beautiful face and the fact that I wanted to punch it.
"No worries, read. I'll sit and admire," Elijah replied.
I looked at him.
"Look, if you give me your number, I'll leave you alone."
After some consideration, I gave in and gave him my number. He soon left and winked at me while leaving the building. I don't know what convinced me, maybe the talk with my doctor, moving on was our main focus. It had been hard to talk to any man ever since...
Tears start to fill my eyes, it's been six months. I got up and paid my bill, left the building, and headed home.

I got home and walked in. I threw my keys in the bowl on the shelf and walked to my room. It had been a long day, not a bad day, but a long day. I took off my clothes and begin to step into the shower. Music blaring and the heat of the water relaxing all my muscles. I was truly safe in a shower. I sat down in the shower, and a sudden wave of emptiness arose. I sat still, looking at the water leaving the showerhead. I begin to cry.
After my shower, I threw on some jammies and walked to my bed. sitting up. All of a sudden, the room went cold. I grabbed my blanket and put it on. The light flickered once, twice, and a third time. Getting overwhelmed I cried out. Then the bulb in my lamp blew! Shuddering, I looked up and saw a note floating down to my face. Shaking, I picked up the note.
