Chapter One Naomi
Naomi stared in the mirror at her reflection. She frowned and leaned against the sink. Another thing had changed about her. Over the past year, she had noticed that more changes were happening. Everyone already viewed her as a freak because her wolf had not made an appearance. Little did they know though, she already had her wolf, but she had not been able to shift yet. Without the shift no one had believed that she had gotten her wolf at sixteen. Sixteen was the age that all wolf shifters got their wolf. Naomi smirked. She had been communicating with her wolf since she was ten. Her wolf was powerful. More powerful than her body could handle before turning of age. Now this though... her eyes. One blue. One gray. She had come into this world with hazel eyes. Over the years her eyes had started to change. She had been covering it up with contacts. Not even her aunt knew. Now she had no choice but to clue her in. The contacts kept disintegrating as soon as she put them in. There was no hiding them. Not only had her eyes changed; so had her hair. She had gone from a dark brown with natural highlights, to a complete black. So black, it looked like a dark abyss. All that black hair had come along with a voice. The voice of a vampire; a demon. Amina, she said her name was. She was to be her protector. Naturally, Naomi completely freaked when her fangs descended. So sharp she had cut her finger on them. She was a wolf for goodness sake. How would she explain this when someone noticed. Because someone would notice. For her to be the freak of the pack, the unwanted of the pack; everyone paid attention to her. Even if it was just to see how they could torment her on that particular day.
This change had occurred 3 years ago. She had woken up one day and screamed bloody murder. Buying hair dye, she had tried to cover it up only for it to not take. Attempting to still hide it, Naomi had ordered three of the same wigs off sss and wore hoodies until they arrived. That was not the only change with her hair though. There was the white patch that covered the front middle section of her hair. Not blonde but solid white. That was the real reason she tried to hide it. Had it only turned black she could have simply said that she had dyed it in black. She knew what that white patch of hair meant though. What it represented. Her Aunt Winter had told her stories of how the great Grand witch, who let who would lead all the covens had it. It was what signified who they were and what kind of power they held. The more white hair; the more powerful being that they were.
The second voice had come a few days after the first. Once her body had adjusted to the changes that Amina brought, Amethyst spoke. The moment she said hello, things have started to rise and fall in her room. The sink faucet in her bathroom have busted and water shut up to the ceiling and started to flow towards her. She could see the trees bending towards her bedroom window. The wind could be heard howling. The Earth started to crack in the forest past the boundary lines of their pack. The cracks race towards her home. She could see the animals that dwelled in the forest, some creatures she had never seen before came to the tree line as they stared towards her window and bowed their heads. Amethyst spoke softly, "I will be your nurturer.".
