Chapter 1
The luxurious hotel room with a classic feel seemed to be filled with the lewd sounds of two people kissing hotly on the bed. Once again, the beautiful woman wearing a wedding dress who was standing in the doorway of the room wanted to cover her ears so she wouldn't hear the sound of moaning, a sound that made her heart feel truly broken. She tightly bit her lip and squeezed her wedding dress, watching her future husband make out with another woman on their wedding day. "Liam, how could you do this..." She hissed. Finally, the girl's tears spilled. The trust she had built over 2 years in Liam was destroyed in the last minutes before the wedding began. The woman's hands trembled as she squeezed the cell phone in her hand while the cell phone screen displayed a popular article this morning containing the news of the marriage of herself, Isabelle Smith, the only daughter of Arthur Smith, owner of the J&H Company who was about to marry Liam Harrington, the owner's son, LuxCorp Holdings. The marriage of two children from this conglomerate is trending and hotly discussed by the public. Belle's sobs managed to awaken and bring the two people out of their passionate world. Suddenly, Liam broke the kiss and turned towards the door with an annoyed expression because he felt disturbed. However, Liam's eyes suddenly widened, his eyeballs almost popping out of their sockets to see his future wife there. "B-belle?" The man stuttered and immediately jumped out of bed and rushed over to Belle. Meanwhile, the woman who was with Liam rushed from the room. "Darling it's...not what you think." The man stood in front of Belle, looking at Belle who was staring at him blankly, while her tears kept flowing down her cheeks. "I never thought you would betray me like this."She said in a hoarse voice while roughly wiping her tears. Liam took Belle's hand gently. "Sorry dear... forgive my stupidity..." Those tear-filled eyes looked at Liam sharply. Roughly, Belle pulled her hand from Liam's grasp. "Sorry? You don't deserve it, tell me Liam... how long have you been cheating on me!" Liam lowered his gaze. "Six months... It wasn't intentional dear... I'm sorry." Belle held her throbbing chest while looking Liam straight in the eyes, she tried to look for guilt and regret in Liam's eyes, but unfortunately she couldn't find it. "You don't deserve to call me that again, Liam. Let's just end all of this!" She shouted in Liam's face. Then, her eyes narrowed slightly as her hand rose to give Liam a slap on the cheek. Liam widened his eyes at the slap. He held his cheek and felt a burning sensation there. Suddenly, his jaw tightened when he saw Belle who had crossed the line. "You i***t! How dare you slap me!" Without warning, Liam reached out to grab Belle's hair. Forcibly pulling Belle's head back. Liam's sudden and very strong action made Belle feel excruciating pain in her scalp. A grin spread across Liam's face when he heard Belle's groan of pain. "How dare you hurt me— akh!" Belle's words were cut off as she felt the pain in her head increase. "You think you can insult me, Belle? This is the result you will get if you dare to go against me," he sneered as he removed his hand roughly from Belle's hair. Belle's beautiful hair, which she had carefully styled for an hour, was a mess. "Just forget the wedding, Liam! I won't marry you!" For whatever reason, Belle doesn't want to marry this bastard! Liam snorted harshly. He seemed amused by Belle's words. "How can that be? We're still married, Belle. Think about your father's lousy company. It would go bankrupt if my family didn't lend him the money." Belle's fists clenched tightly, and she continued coldly. "I would rather have my family's company destroyed and live in poverty than live with a trash man like you!" "What did you say! Say it again, Belle..." The man growled angrily. He couldn't stand Belle's insults that had gone too far. "Trash! Bastard! You'd be better off dead!" Liam stepped closer to Belle. He raised his hand to slap the woman, but his movement was stopped mid-air when he felt a thick liquid land directly on his cheek. Meanwhile, Belle grinned with satisfaction when she managed to spit in Liam's face. For a moment, the room fell silent. Then the silence was broken when Liam could be heard gritting his teeth. The man's jaw tightened when he looked at Belle. “You stupid girl, you ungrateful–” Before those words were finished, Belle felt a very strong push on her body by Liam, which caused her to lose her balance and fall to the floor. Then Belle felt a strong pain in the back of her head as her head hit the glass table right next to her. Red liquid colored the glass table and marble floor around Belle. She grimaced as she held her throbbing head. Her head hurt so much, but it was clearly nothing compared to the pain she felt due to Liam's betrayal. "Belle... I didn't mean to... I'm sorry," Liam hurriedly squatted down and leveled his body with Belle. Belle thinks Liam has gone crazy. After pushing him roughly, he then apologized easily with a pleading face. Belle is fed up with all this. "I won't let you control me, Liam. Never!" "Belle, be obedient and marry me... I promise to treat you well," Liam smiled in a pleading tone. He shifted closer to Belle and wanted to grab her because he liked how fragile she looked like this. He loves Belle, and he must marry her. Belle had to be his. A wave of fear washed over Belle as Liam gave her a glare. Her instincts urged her to flee. Without hesitation, she hurriedly got up from her seat, her heart pounding, afraid that Liam would attack her again. Belle hurriedly headed for the door, speeding up her steps away from the room accompanied by the echo of her heels echoing in the long, silent hallway. "Belle, wait! Don't make things difficult for yourself, come back to me," Liam shouted, which actually made Belle speed up her steps. Panic haunted Belle as she watched Liam chase her. Her hands trembled as she lifted her wedding dress high and quickened her steps towards the elevator, which would take her straight to the car park. The guards loyal to Liam were on guard at every corner, their eyes like hungry wolves looking for prey. Belle was forced to relax her steps when she arrived at the parking area. She didn't expect that Liam would put so many guards there. Now, Belle's head felt increasingly sore, and Belle's vision began to blur, making her lean against the wall to maintain her balance. "Huh... huh... Why are there so many guards here?" Belle growled while catching her breath. She was distraught when she saw her car being heavily guarded by 5 guards. For several minutes, she stood still thinking about how to escape from there until a tap on her shoulder made Belle's heart almost jump out. Wary, she slowly turned around, then her eyes widened when she saw the burly, tattooed man grinning at her. The man smiled crookedly at the frightened girl in front of him. "Miss... Forget your escape plan, let's go back to the ballroom." Belle slowly backed away, but the man quickly grabbed her wrist. "Let me go!" Belle rebelled fiercely, but her efforts were in vain. "Miss, obey and come with me, then I won't hurt you." The man showed a smile that looked scary in Belle's eyes. Then a few seconds later, there was a scream from the man as Belle bit one of the man's fingers hard. When the man was careless, Belle immediately ran from there, down a narrow corridor that she didn't know where it led. She continued to run where her legs took her. Until suddenly, a glimmer of hope appeared in her eyes when she found a food delivery car at the end of the alley that was preparing to leave. "Sir! Please give me a ride." Belle knocked on the car window hastily. The car window opened, revealing a man in his fifties looking at her in surprise. "Miss, what's wrong?" The man asked while looking at Belle completely. "Some people are trying to catch me, please help me get out of here, sir." In a pleading tone, Belle said. The look of despair on that beautiful and pale face made the man feel sorry, especially when he saw Belle's injured condition and her clothes covered in bloodstains. Until finally, the man nodded in agreement and took Belle away from there. --- "Boss, your grandfather just finished surgery." "Hmm." The man sitting in the passenger seat of the sedan with luxury plates answered indifferently. His handsome face that women were crazy about only had a flat expression, and his sharp brown eyes were fixed on the tablet in his lap. Hearing the short response, Joshua Lawyen, the man who was driving the car, then glanced at the mirror which showed the appearance of his boss who looked cold in his black suit. "He keeps asking about your marriage, he wants it as soon as possible," continued Joshua. "But you haven't found—" The man interrupted, "Future wife?" Joshua then nodded at that. "It's your job to find it for me." He continued without taking his eyes off his tablet in the slightest. From his gloomy expression, it was clear that he didn't care about marriage at all. Joshua then sighed. "Dimitri Alexander Vanderbilt, I say this as your friend, the number of women who like you increases every day, just choose one, you don't need to bother me with your marriage problems, hahaha." Dimitri's eyes lifted from the tablet, his eyebrows forming a fine knit. "You can resign if you are tired of being my secretary." "Sorry, boss. I'll find a woman for you right away." Joshua answered resignedly. There was no point in continuing to fight his friend who was stubborn and didn't want to lose. Joshua turned his gaze forward again after the brief debate. A moment later, he gasped when he saw a woman suddenly crossing the road. He braked suddenly and nimbly swerved to avoid her. "What are you doing now!" Dimitri almost went berserk. He glared at Joshua, the perpetrator who pushed him forward and caused his face to hit the chair in front of him. “I think I almost hit someone,” Joshua explained hesitantly. The two handsome men rushed out of the car. Both of their eyes were fixated on the woman in a wedding dress who was lying helplessly, two meters away from their car. "Blood?" Joshua muttered watching the girl's dress covered in bloodstains. Meanwhile, Dimitri, the man's body suddenly felt stiff when he arrived at the woman's side. Beads of sweat appeared on his handsome face, his heart was beating wildly as he felt deja vu about this incident. "I really didn't hit her. But she..." Joshua stammered. Maybe other people would think he hit the woman because she passed out in a dress decorated with blood, but Joshua swore he didn't hit her. The girl fainted by herself while attacking the road. Joshua had just wanted to open his mouth to ask Dimitri what they should do with the woman, but suddenly his voice caught in his throat, as he watched Dimitri suddenly squat down and lift the woman and carry her to the car. Joshua was speechless seeing Dimitri's attitude, who looked like a kind, helpful prince, while he was known to be cold and indifferent. The man hated getting involved in other people's problems. Joshua returned to the car with a strange expression on his face. He was so surprised that he didn't even blink at Dimitri. Dimitri stared at Joshua sharply. "What are you doing? Quick, start the car!" his order made Joshua immediately wake up. "Okay, we'll go to the hospital right away." Dimitri's gaze turned to the unconscious woman beside him. "No, take her to my house." "What!" Joshua suddenly exclaimed, shocked by the very unexpected direction.
