896 Words
Emily was very tired after the tour. She went back to her big, new room. She took off her clothes and put on soft pajamas. She climbed into the big bed. It was soft and warm. She closed her eyes. She was very sleepy. She fell asleep very quickly. Emily began to dream. She was in a strange place. It was dark and cloudy. Suddenly, an old man appeared. He had a long white beard. He wore long, white clothes. He smiled at Emily. "Hello," the old man said. "Do not be afraid." Emily was a little scared. "Who are you?" she asked. "I am the one who brought you here," the old man said. Emily was confused. "Brought me where?" she asked. "To this time and place," the old man said. "To the 21st century." Emily was shocked. "What is the 21st century?" she asked. "It is the time you are in now," the old man said. "It is very different from the Suzaku Kingdom." Emily remembered her home. She missed her family. She missed her sisters. She thought, "How did I get here?" The old man said, "A soul was misplaced. Your mother's soul was misplaced." Emily was very confused. "My mother's soul?" she asked. "Yes," the old man said. "That is why I brought you here. You are here to replace her soul." Emily did not understand. "Why me?" she asked. "Why not my sisters?" "Your sisters are busy in the kingdom," the old man said. "They have important work to do. You are the only one who could come." Emily felt important but also very sad. She missed her mother. She was sad that her mother's soul was not where it should be. The old man smiled. "I chose you for another reason," he said. "You look like Emily." Emily stopped. "What Emily?" she asked. "I am Emily Taylor!" "Yes, but you look like the Emily that Noah Jones loved," the old man said. "That is why I brought you here." Emily was angry. "He thinks I am someone else?" she asked. The old man nodded. "I changed part of his memory," he said. "He thinks you are her. He does not know that you are Emily Taylor." Emily was very angry. "That is not fair!" she shouted. "I am not a replacement! I am not the other Emily!" The old man said, "I have also arranged for you to marry Noah Jones." Emily’s eyes widened. "Marry him?" she asked. "I don't want to marry him!" "It is necessary," the old man said. "It is part of my plan." Emily did not agree. "I don't want to marry him!" she said again. "I want to go back to my time. I have many handsome men waiting for me!" The old man smiled. "You will stay here," he said. "You will marry Noah Jones." Emily did not want to believe it. She was getting very angry and felt this old man was being very unfair. She wanted to yell at him more, but suddenly she woke up. Emily opened her eyes. She was back in her bed. The sun was shining through the window. It was not dark and cloudy anymore. It was her room. She felt her heart racing. It was just a dream. She thought, "Was that real? Was that old man real?" She was very confused. She did not know what to believe. She thought about the old man, about her mother, and about Noah Jones. She didn't know what to think. She realized her situation was even more strange and complicated than she had first thought. Aunt Brown came into the room. "Good morning," she said. "How did you sleep?" "I had a strange dream," Emily said. "A very strange dream." Aunt Brown looked worried. "Is everything okay?" she asked. Emily nodded. "I think so," she said. "But… what’s happening?" Aunt Brown looked down and said, "I have some bad news. Noah Jones… he had a car accident." Emily's eyes widened. "What?!" she exclaimed. "Is he okay?" "He is in the hospital," Aunt Brown said. "But he is okay. He will be fine." Emily's heart felt heavy. She thought, "A car accident! That's terrible!" She was not happy that Noah had been hurt. She decided she would go visit him to see if he was alright. She felt a little bad about what she had said about him in her dream. Emily got out of bed. She felt like she had a lot of things to think about. Emily walked to the window. She looked out at the garden. She was thinking very deeply. The old man in her dream was very strange. She thought, "Why did he bring me here? Why did he want me to marry Noah Jones? What is going to happen?" She was still very confused. She felt like she had been tricked and was very angry. She did not want to stay here. She did not want to marry Noah. She wanted to go home. She thought, "I will find a way to go back to my time, no matter what." She thought about her mother and was worried about her soul. She decided that she was strong and very brave. She would find out what was happening, and fix it. She would go and see Noah, and then she would make a plan.
