A Misplaced Love Across Time

Emily Taylor opened her eyes. She felt cold. The ground was hard. She looked around.She is in a strange place. The sky was dark. The moon was bright. She did not know how she got there. She stands up. Her legs are weak. She feels afraid. She is in a graveyard. It is a very old place. Big stones stand everywhere. She feels the cold wind. She is very cold and wants to go home, but she can't remember where her home is. She hides behind a big stone. She hears someone. Footsteps are coming. Who is it? She is scared. She hides more. She sees two men. One is old. One is young. They talk near her. The young man speaks first. His voice is sad. "Emily, my Emily," he says. "I miss you so much." He cries. Emily Taylor is surprised. Who is this Emily? She does not know anyone named Emily. The young man says, "I am so sorry, Emily. I did it for you. I made them pay." He speaks quietly, but Emily Taylor can hear him. He seems very sad. The old man puts a hand on the young man's shoulder. The old man says, “It is time to go, Noah.” The young man says nothing. He just stays there, looking at the big stone. The old man looks at him for a bit. Then the old man walks away. The young man is alone now. Emily Taylor is still behind the stone. She is very quiet. She listens to the young man. He is still talking. He says, “Emily, I love you.” He speaks to the stone. He says he is so sorry that she is gone. Emily Taylor feels bad for him. He seems like a good person. But why is he so sad? Who is this Emily he loves so much? He is crying. He says, "I will never forget you.” He is very sad and angry. Emily Taylor wonders what happened. What did this man do for Emily? She feels a tickle in her nose. She tries not to, but she sneezes. "Achoo!" The sound is loud in the quiet place. The young man hears her. He turns around very fast. He looks at the big stone. He sees Emily Taylor. He is shocked. He looks at her face. His eyes are wide. He does not move. He looks very surprised. Emily Taylor is scared, she does not know what he will do. She stands up. She does not hide anymore. The young man looks at her again, he does not speak. He looks like he has seen a ghost. Emily Taylor looks at the young man. He has dark hair and dark eyes. He is tall and handsome. She thinks he is like a prince from her kingdom. His face is wet with tears. His hands are shaking. The young man asks her, "Emily? Is that you?" He is speaking to her, but his voice is very confused. Emily Taylor does not know what to say. She does not know him. "Who is Emily?" she thinks. "I am Emily Taylor." She is not the Emily that he speaks about. She is about to tell him her name when the young man does something very strange. He runs to her and hugs her very tightly. “Emily!” he says. “You’re back! Oh, thank God! Thank God you are back!" He holds her tight. Emily Taylor is very confused. Who is this man? Why is he calling her Emily? She tries to move away. She can’t. He is too strong. The young man is crying again. He is also laughing a little. He says, “God sent you back to me. You are back from Heaven!" He says he will never let her go. He says she will be his wife. Emily Taylor feels very strange. She does not want to marry him. He is a strange man. She says, “Stop! You are wrong! I am not Emily!” But he doesn’t listen. He just holds her tighter. Emily Taylor is starting to get mad. She does not like this strange man. She decides to fight back. She moves very quickly. She uses a fighting move from her training. The young man is not ready for this. She pushes him away and he falls. He looks very surprised again. He looks at her, confused. He does not understand why she did this to him. Emily Taylor says, “My name is Emily Taylor. I am from Suzaku Kingdom. Who are you?” She looks angry. She is not afraid of him now. The young man is shocked. He stays on the ground. He looks at her, very surprised and a little scared. “Suzaku Kingdom?” he says quietly. “This cannot be. This can’t be happening. Emily, what did you say your name was?” Emily Taylor repeats her name, she says, “I am Emily Taylor, not Emily. Don't ever forget it!" She turns around and walks away. She leaves the young man on the ground. She needs to find her way home. She does not want to see this crazy man again. The young man looks at her go. He stands up very slowly. He does not understand what is happening. He is confused and a little afraid. He says, “Emily Taylor? But… But she looks just like Emily…This… this is impossible.” He doesn’t understand. What is going on? The wind blows softly. It is very quiet in the graveyard. The young man is left alone. He doesn’t know what to do. He looks at the stone where Emily once was. He feels lost and alone. He looks around for the woman who looks like Emily. She is gone. He is very confused and doesn't know what to do next. He walks slowly out of the graveyard, wondering if he had imagined everything.
