Chapter 2

I hate this nauseating feeling, as if something is being taken away from me but the thing is it never was mine. I took another shot of tequila that the barman held out for me, taking my glass of wine I turned to see the girls dancing on the floor. Everyone laughing ans enjoying themselves, they look so free without worry for what tomorrow will bring. Groaning I pulled out the invitation that a just grabbed and pushed into my bag, turning it sideways to see the colour dancing over the page. I would have never imagined him going for something this fancy and sophisticated, maybe the years have changed him as it did to me. I wonder how she looks and how they met, if it was love at first sight or if she had to work to get him to notice her. Those thoughts kept my mind busy as I took a sip after another sip, thinking about what would have made him send me this card. Did he tell her about me? Was she curious about who I might be? And then the biggest question is, how did they know where to send the invitation to? These were all question that kept my mind racing that I didn't even notice anyone until Robin placed her hand on my shoulder, she laid her head on her hand and looked at the dance floor. "You know we can always go and kidnap him." She smiled, her eyes glinting with mischief. "I would still like to have my job." I mumbled, taking the shot that the barman held out to me. "And you will! They can afford to lose you but this might be your last chance love. Don't end up like me?" she complained "I won't, I'll have the ten dogs and not cats." I smiled softly "With no one to keep you warm at night?" she sighed "Dogs are not cold-blooded." "But they are also not hot, let's go love..." she walked until she's standing in front of me. "I'm not drunk enough for this mission Darling." I winked at her before taking another shot. "Then let's get you drunk." she cheered before ordering a few rounds. I couldn't help but laugh at her antics, a part of me wishing that I was as ambitious about love as she is. I lost count with how many shots we took and somehow I think we got into a taxi. I know that I tried to call someone but I can't remember if they answered and what we talked about, in this dream I found myself on a plain throwing up but I could still feel the excitement pulsing through me. I made up my mind that I will go through this idiotic plan, if this was my last chance, then what do I have to lose. I fell asleep when we landed and got into another taxi, by the time I regained my sanity I found myself laying in bed and a clock showing that it was one in the afternoon. My head screamed at me when a hand flung itself around me, I smiled at my dear friend that mumbled something about an excellent plan. My phones ringtone went of in my bag next to the bed, leaning down I fished it out when Roben kicked me out of the bed. "Shut your damn phone off!" she grumbled, turning to the other side. "I'm so happy I'm not the one marrying you." I mumbled, swiping my phone to see sixteen missed calls. "You would be honored to marry me my love." she snickered, turning her head to look at me. "I don't have that much patience." I smiled sweetly before looking down at the missed calls. I received ten missed calls from my mother, crab sticks, I might as well call a funeral home after this. Five is from Andrew, he should be driving around looking for us by now, and one from... I choked as the name stood as bright as day out. I can't remember what we did yesterday completely but I am sure that I never once phoned him, we'll I'm sure as the day as I was born. "What's it love." she wormed her way over, combing her hair back. "I'm just wondering which funeral service I should arrange to collect my body." I mumbles, deciding to call my mom I waited for the ringtone finish. O please for what is ever in my favor, don't let my mother answer! "Elsine! Where on this forsaken earth are you!" my mother answered, I could even hear my father in the background trying to calm her down. "Hello my sweetest mom...." "Don't you dare to try to sweet talk yourself out of this young lady, you haven't set your foot back here in the past 12 years and the first thing you tell me last night, which I'm not happy about and will have a talk later on, is that you have come back hom and ended the call in my ear. In my EAR Elsine! You didn't even answer my calls after that! " she screamed and soon followed by a sob. "I'm really sorry mom, I was a bit drunk last night." I grumbled, rubbing my pounding head. "Just a bit? Elsine you never make impulsive decisions, you're always so careful. What happened? Where are you now? Dad said he'll come and fetch you." my mother cooed, reminding me so much of when I was younger. It took me a moment before the gears in my head started turning, with a curse I jumped up and yanked open the windows to find ourself at Mid-day Motel. "Elsine?" both my mother and Robin called me as I stared at my home town. Sh*t, I'm truly back in Midstream Field.
