Where is Cece

Alec Where the hell is she? It's already third period and I haven't seen her once. Is she ditching? She didn't seem like the type to ditch. Kade keeps getting more pissed with every class and, frankly, I am too. Where the hell is she? It's only her second day of school and she's already absent. After our fourth class, we had lunch. Kade and I decided to go over to the elementary school to see if her brother was at school. Then we would know if she actually ditched or if something was wrong. Class was slow and Kade was snappy. He even growled at the teacher when he asked if he was paying attention. Normally, a student would be sent to the principal's office but the teacher and the principal were both wolves from our pack, so it didn't make sense to send your alpha to a principal who couldn't even punish you. We quickly reached our car in the parking lot, but Nathan stopped us. "Hey, where are you guys headed?" he asked, jogging up to the car. He stopped right in front of us. Dammit, can't we catch a break. "Something came up, we're calling it a day" I said, hopping into the driver's seat. "Is there some sort of pack meeting? I didn't get the memo, let me come with". "No" Kade and I said in unison, shocking Nathan. "Okay, what's up with you two," he said suspiciously. Kade and I looked at each other, asking a silent question. I nodded, Nathan was our Beta. If we couldn't trust him, who could we trust? "We have something to tell you. Meet us in the office after school," Kade said. With that, he got in the car, and we drove down the street to the elementary school. Kade stayed in the car as I walked into the office to speak to one of the receptionists. "Hello Mrs. Bailey, how are you today?" I asked, giving her a wide smile. She looked taken aback and blushed deeply. "Alpha Alec, a pleasure, I'm fine and you", she asked, "I'm good, I was just wondering if there was a boy named Austin Young in school today". I had stopped by the high school office and asked to see Cece's file to find out her brother's name. "Let me just take a quick look here" she said, typing away on her computer. "Ah yes, Austin Young, he's in today. Did you want me to call him up to the office," she asked. "Oh no, that's okay, I was just checking". I turned to walk out when she stopped me with a question. "May I be so bold as to ask why you're checking on a human?" I turned around. "No you may not", I said with a smile and walked out. I got back into the car with a huff. "He's there," I said, "Then where the hell is she?". He growled. I sighed and started to drive around town aimlessly, trying to clear my thoughts when Kade grabbed the wheel and jerked it into a sharp turn. I slammed on the brakes. "What the actual f*ck?" I yelled. "I saw her, she's over at the park," he said excitedly. "Okay, so why didn't you just say that?" I asked, annoyed. I turned into the parking lot and spotted her sitting on a swing looking up at the sky. She had her back facing us. We got out of the car and began to walk up to her. Kade tapped her on the shoulder, and she jumped up off the swing, startled. When she turned, we stiffened. There was a tiny bruise on her chin and an even bigger bruise across her right cheek down to her jaw. Her eyes were red as if she had been crying all night and her nose was a little pink. "What the hell happened to you?" I growled. If someone had laid a hand on my mate, they could consider themselves dead. "What are you doing here, shouldn't you be in class?" she asked, her voice hoarse. "I asked you first," I demanded. Kade turned around and walked right back to the car with his fists clenched. Her eyes followed him all the way back. I was getting impatient. She was looking at him when I was right there, asking a question. I cleared my throat, and she looked back at me. "I fell this morning and hit my face on the sidewalk." "I bruise easily," she said, shrugging her shoulders. I didn't believe that one bit. I raised my eyebrows at her, waiting for her to tell me the truth. "What?" "You're seriously not going to tell me what actually happened," I asked. "That is what happened," she said incredulously. Kade made his way back over to us with a jar. He promptly opened it and, without any explanation, started rubbing a little bit on her cheek. She backed away surprised. Kade rolled his eyes and showed her the jar. "It's healing cream works like a charm". He dabbed his finger back in the jar and began rubbing more onto her cheek. When his thumb grazed the bruise on her chin, she leaned into his hand and moaned. Our eyes turned black, and he grazed his thumb over her bottom lip. She looked up at us expectantly and took a step forward. We quickly came back to our senses. Kade handed her the jar, and took a step back. "You can keep that," he said gruffly. She seemed to come back to her senses as well and blushed deeply, looking down. "Thanks" she whispered. "You know you can tell us what happened, right?" I said, changing the subject. She narrowed her eyes. "Look, I don't know what you think happened, but we just met, I can't tell you anything," she looked at her phone. "I got to go pick up Austin" she said, brushing past me. We watched her leave. "What was that about?" asked Kade. "She's probably being bullied at school". I said "We should announce to the pack that she's our mate and put a stop to it". Kade nodded in agreement. When we got back to the pack house, we made our way to the office. The pack house had three floors. The bottom floor consisted of about ten guestrooms, and the main kitchen and the support center, where pack members were allowed to come in and get any help they might need. The second floor was for meetings. It consisted of two office spaces for me and my brother, though we decided to share an office because it was big enough. A meeting room with a projector for pack leader meetings and a conference room with a stage for pack meetings that anyone could attend if curious. The third floor was restricted. It was the Alpha floor, and you could only get up to that floor with a card key as it was guarded by top pack warriors and an electronic lock. The only people that lived there were my brother and I, along with my Beta and his mate, and our Gamma, along with his mate, who actually happened to be Sophie. Our Gamma, Gavin and Sophie, had discovered they were fated at the beginning of the school year, and she had wasted no time moving in with him. There were about seven rooms on this floor, one being the Master room my brother and I would move into with our mate when the time came. We headed up to the second floor using the elevator this time. Nathan was already waiting in our office with Gavin, who we had mind-linked on the way here. "Alphas" they said in unison. "What's going on is something wrong," asked Nathan. "No, nothing is wrong." "Don't worry, this will be very brief" said Kade, taking a seat at his desk. I walked across the room and took a seat in mine. "We've found our mate," I said, "and she's human", Kade finished.
