The Unwanted Marriage

Chapter 1

    It was early morning when Kathrin woke up the day of her 21st birthday, rising with the sun. Every year on her birthday, she would wake up early, exited to have a day for herself. Her father had decided when she was younger that her birthdays would be the only days without chores. She made sure to have enough time to run with her wolf until her brothers came to wish her a happy birthday. Being the alpha's daughter and one of the most strong wolf in her pack, not a lot of people came to talk to her. on any other day, she wouldn't mind, but as the years past without anyone wishing her happy birthday, it got lonely. She knows that she has her brothers, but in her mind, a pack should be a family. though Kathrin would never let anyone know her discomforts or disappointments. 

    Once she got up to get ready, she didn't bother taking a shower, knowing she would only need another one once she got back from her run. so she just went down stairs after getting dressed in a blue sports bra and spandex shorts, not bothering with shoes. In the kitchen to grabbed an apple. Knowing that no one would be awake, she headed for the forest, not bothering to leave a note.

    At the edge of the forest, she shifted in her wolf. She had always loved the the auburn color of her fur, it matched perfectly with her hair in human form. As a wolf, her eyes are a dark midnight blue compared to her sky blue eyes in her human form.

    Feeling the wind ruffling her fur, she stars running for the water fall, close to the border of their packs territory. The run is about an hour long, but it doesn't bother her, she could run for ever. As Kathrin ran, she made sure to notice anything and everything about the forest, she absolutely loved. The sun's ray's shining through the lime green leaf's and the sounds of nature around her. It was one of the only place she could completely feel at peace, observing nature. I was also the only place she wouldn't feel completely alone, even though she was.

    After what only felt like a half hour, she arrived at the waterfall and the lake she had found as a little girl with her brothers. they were the only ones who knew of it. They had all discovered it together when they were racing to see who could go faster. Of course, Kathrin wasn't as fast as them back then, but now she could definitely beat them there and back without stopping. Her wolf was definitely strong for a female, and big too. All most as big as her brothers.

    She approached the lake and laid down in the sun, enjoying, for the human's, the day she became an adult. Even though she knew werewolves were mostly matured from 18 to 20. 

    As she rested near the lake, she looked at the shimmering water. The gold and silver imbedded in the bright aqua blue. Kathrin had always thought this place to be special. She had never dared go in the water nor drinking in. Ever since she could remember, she always believed this place was somehow blessed by the moon goddess, as the water always looked best under a moonlit night. Not that she had seen it often, but when her father was away for more than a day, she would come and enjoy the quiet and calm, that offered the forest and the lake. With mostly every animal asleep in the forest at night, it felt serene.

    Her thoughts drifted to her mate. She hasn't met them yet, but the possibility of someone loving her unconditionally made her heart flutter. She wondered what they would look like, what kind of personality they would have. To keep up with her, they would have to have at least a bit of a sense of humor. Only the goddess knows how much sass she could put in her jokes. But most of all, her wolf Jazmine, was wondering in her head what their wolf would look like, what they would smell like. Kathrin and Jazmine both knew they would love them unconditionally, whoever they were.   

    Suddenly, she was brought out of her thoughts by a rustling in the bushes behind her. She quickly got up, and in a fighting stance, smelling for the sent of whoever was hidden from her view.
