The Alpha, and His Kitsune Mate

Chapter 11

Rubeus smirked, waiting for everyone to leave training, and then turned to the twins. "You both did excellent. I did not think you were that talented. You would truly be an asset to the pack." He looked over, seeing Caleb, his Gamma, walking over.

Caleb looked at Kai holding out his hand. "It was a privilege to spar with you. If you decide to teach, please let me know. I would love to learn from you both. We don't train in your style, and I would very much like to learn." He looked at Rubeus, lowering his head slightly. "Alpha, we increased the patrols, but so far nothing to report. I'll go to the packhouse, eat, and then return to the border to patrol."

Rubeus gave him a soft nod. "Thank you. This is my Gamma Caleb, he is in charge of security, patrols, and jobs. If you wish to work, he will be the one to assign you, and there is always a choice." He watched Caleb lower his head again, with a nod, before heading towards the packhouse. He turned to the twins with a smirk. " Do you want to clean up first, or breakfast?"

Kai shrugged his shoulders slightly. "Raven is probably with Alison. Could we eat first, and then shower? I am starving after that workout."

Rubeus chuckled with a soft nod. "Absolutely, I'll have to give you a tour of the place after breakfast, unless you want to explore it on your own." He headed back to the packhouse, walking up the front steps with the twins in tow. "We have a gym on the first floor to the west of the kitchen. It's open all day, since you said you enjoy training. Also, there is a pool, but after 8pm it is closed for children. You need a code to swim at night, but it's at your own risk. Lifeguards are only there from eight to eight." He looked back at them with sudden curiosity. "I just realized you guys are quite young. Should we be enrolling you in school? I'd hate to have you miss out on education."

Koe smirked, shaking his head. "No, we finished school early last year, now we just train all day. We usually run classes for self-defense, and we had endurance courses, and obstacles. For what we were training for, we had to train regardless of weather and time. Our father would wake us at 2am to see how fast we could be ready and out for battle. We learned how to hide our scents, and sneak up on people. We didn't mind honestly, we enjoyed the challenge.". He looked at Kai, fist-bumping him. " We do everything together."

He nodded. He knew that most twins did do everything together, and it wasn't uncommon for them to share the same mate. He wondered if that also worked for Kitsune. "Do you think you will both have to share a mate? I don't know what it is like for Kitsune but most here have to share one."

Kai shook his head. "No, I don't think he will because we both have different types we prefer. However, that could also change as we are older, but neither of us are really interested. It would be hard to have a mate and do the job we want to do. I'd like to find my mate when I'm older and ready to retire, because then I won't have to worry about putting her at risk." He looked over, seeing Koe nod his head in agreement. "I hope your mates give you a run for your money then."

Rubeus listened to them completely amused. "Well, if you want to start training classes here yourself, you have my permission." As he stepped through the packhouse doors, the scent he loved so much coming from the dining hall. He thanked the Moon Goddess for letting him scent out his mate before she became of age. His wolf instantly purred in his mind. 'Please see mate, just a glance.'. Rex started to lick his fur to clean himself up. 'You know she can't see you right?' His wolf snuffed at him. 'You're just jealous she'll think I'm better looking. She's going to love me, grumpy puss'. He shoved his wolf further back in his mind, annoyed as he walked into the dining room as he felt a slight pain in his chest. When he didn't see her at the table, he looked around the room, rubbing his chest. When his eyes finally fell on her, his face turned into a glare as he growled loudly. Caleb had his mate pressed against him, and was kissing her. She didn't look pleased at all, in fact she looked to be pushing him away.

Rex completely up in his mind growling murderously. 'Kill him! Rip him to pieces! Let me at him! Mine! Tell him we are not sharing!'. He tried to calm down his wolf. 'We'll figure this out, Rex. I am not sharing either. She's ours only.' His fists turned white as he tried to hold onto his anger. "Caleb, what do you think you are doing?"
