When Bloom arrived at the restaurant, her father was already seated. The whole place was empty and she knew he must have bought the place out.
“ Thank God I was sensible to have emptied the entire restaurant. With you looking like this, you're sure to have tarnished–”
“ Enough. Just tell me what you meant by saving Blossom’s life.” She glared at him and he chuckled.
“ Very well. I want you to come back home.”
She raised her eyebrows. If this offer had come weeks ago, she'd have jumped at it without thinking twice but now she was very suspicious of her father.
He didn't even feel sympathy for her when she told him Blossom would die soon, and now he wanted her back home? Are pigs flying already?
“That must be a joke right. What are you talking about about?”
“ I’m serious. I want you to come back home.”
Bloom stared at her dad like he was insane, the she bursted into laughter…a very loud one.
“I think I'm going insane.” She held her hair on her hands, “ Maybe I am dreaming. It seems to be that way..”
Her dad growled “ Stop with the dramatics, Bloom–”
“ No, you stop with the drama! You've been spouting nonsense ever since I got here. You kicked us out remember? You clearly told us that it would be better if we were dead. So what is all this bullshit?” Her dad tried to speak up again but she cut him off “ Mind you, I would have believed you if you'd called me before I called you. Have you forgotten what you said to me?” She scowled at him.
Reaching for her purse, she stood on her feet “ I'm not going to entertain your stupid mind games any longer. You've been playing them for too long and now I'll stop being a willing player.”
“ Wait. Fine. If you really want the truth, I'll tell you. Sit back down.”
Sheglared at him but sat down anyway.
“ Looks like you're finally matured enough to spot my lies from a mile away. But never mind…” And that cruel expression that Bloom has known him for was back in place, she smirked.
“ No we're talking.”
“ I need to sign a merger, a marriage merger and I need you as the pawn for the contract.”
She stared at him with raised eyebrows. “ You might wanna explain further.”
She knew what her father was doing and she was smarter than him. He was trying to make her feel he had the power in her hands, but no…the fact that he sought her out was enough to place the power in her hands.
And she intended to use this opportunity to the fullest.
“A very large company, you wouldn't know the name is interested in having a merge with us. But the CEO is a very cold man. He's known for snapping the heads of people without thinking twice. One time he put a bullet in the head of his girlfriend and the police did nothing about it. Married,y daughter is too scared to marry him, so as my other offspring…I want you to marry him. I'm not letting that merger slip away.”
Bloom stared at her dad with no shock or emotions. Normally, she'd be mortified that he was ready to send her to a volatile man like that but this time, all she did was sit in her chair quietly to think.
“ I need more.” She finally spoke out.
“ What?”
“ My end of the deal is too low for a contract that risky.” Bloom looked up and smirked, “let me break it down for you. You are sending me into a lion’s den and the only reward you have is taking care of my sister? That's a bit unfair, don't you think?”
“ Bloom–”
“ Don't worry, I'll help you with the merger but these are the things you'll do for me. Blossom need to be transfered to be best hospital and receive the best care. Her name on the organ list must be shot up to the top. When she's out, she lives with me in the house I stay, and attends the best school you can register her in. The minute the contract is signed, I want a whopping 5 million dollars credited into two account in mine and Blossom’s name. And for every month I stay married to this man, you must credit a monthly fee of 20 thousand dollars into those accounts. If for any reason, I divorce or die…a house must be given to my sister, her academics doesn't stop until she’s graduated and on her two feets. Do we have a deal?” Bloom asked.
She looked at his face and it was almost giving the sound of a boiling pot. The smoke that was coming out of his ears was evidence of how angry he was.
“ Are you trying to wreck me? Do you think–”
“ Do you think you're the one with the power? Of course not. Why not take the easy way out or Married does? Besides, none of the things I asked for her extreme. I merely asked for 0.5% of the things mother gave us in her will.”
The shock registered on his face.
Bloom smiled “ What? You think I didn't know Mom transfered all her properties and wealth to us. I was there the day she did it. Well, let's not dwell on the past now, are you sealing our deal or not?”
Her dad adjusted his tie and she was shocked by the satisfaction she felt from seeing him nervous.
.
“ Look Bloom, let's tone down your requests a bit.”
“ No! By the time the merger is complete, you won't even feel the loss of those things from the huge profits you'll be making.”
“You don't even know if he'll choose you.” Her dad snarled. He wasn't happy with her but Bloom didn't care.
“ You leave that to me. now, what's your answer?”
After a long time of silence, her dad finally spoke up “ Let's meet here again in two days time. I'll bring the contract and you'll sign it.”
“ Good choice. And don't try any funny business.” She stood up and walked out. And it wasn't until she got to Blossom's hospital room that her legs gave out and she bursted into silent tears.
She'd been worried she over did it and would push him away, but everything turned out okay and now she could save her sister and give her the best things in the world.
