Arina's POV
"Aww look at how cute they are, she really is perfect for him," I heard someone giggling over me. And why is my pillow so hard. Wait pillows aren't hard. Jolting up from my sleep, I look down to find myself still in last night's dress and Raphael sleeping peacefully under me with his arms around my waist.
Groaning I slip from his arms, Leo and Rosalie are standing behind us laughing with mugs of tea, smirking and giggling. How can anyone be so happy so early in the morning?
"Did you seriously have to be so loud?" I grumbled stomping past them into the kitchen for my own mug of tea. I didn't know how to feel about waking up on top of Raphael but my heart won't stop racing and my mind feels fuzzy. Pouring myself a mug of tea, I took a seat at the island and let it cool as I ran my hands through my hair, when Rosalie walks in and sits across from me.
"Uh, yes?" She just stood there smiling at me, could this house get any crazier.
"Sorry I don't mean to be weird, it's just seeing you and my brother so close makes me so happy, thank you for being her for him, it really made me happy, he's had it rough before he found you."
"Not like I had a choice." I mumbled
Her eyes were filled with sympathy. I wanted to reach over and hug her, it wasn't her fault that her brother bought me here and I shouldn't take it out on her, she's been nothing but nice to me. Sipping my mug of tea, I let my mind wander.
"Hey, where are you going?" Rosalie is buzzing around the kitchen, her heeled boots clicking away at the marble tiles, she grabbed an apple and fluffed her hair out before looking at me confused.
"I'm going to school, the place where everyone goes to learn. Don't you go to school?"
"Uh, it's complicated, I'm not sure your brother will let me. How do you go to school with the life you live, aren't you always in danger?"
She giggled pointing to a bodyguard, Leo walked into the kitchen as she was walking out, pecking his cheek she grabbed her bag off the floor and left for school. Leo ruffled my hair, taking my cup of now cold tea.
I met Leo the night after Raphael and I had went to dinner, he didn't try to convince me that I shouldn't be mad at Raphael, he had only asked that I give living in the mansion a try, he showed me around the house, and let me talk about all of my recent problems and my life before coming to live with them. He reminded me of Charity and that made me feel safe because he instantly became a best friend to me.
"Sure, just take my tea, it's not like I was drinking it," he chuckled making me stick my tongue out.
"Someone looked pretty comfy this morning, what happened last night after we went to bed?"
"Nothing! We just went to sleep, on opposite sides of the couch to be exact!" I felt so embarrassed and quickly ran up to my room leaving a chuckling Leo behind. Going into the closet I pulled out a forest green colored tank top and a pair of black ripped jeans.
After I showered and put the beautiful dress away from last night, I walked circles around my room, sadness washed over me earlier when Rosalie reminded me of the life I should be living. Graduation was in two weeks and I wanted to finish school with the little group of friends that I had.
Groaning in frustration I rushed out of my room on a search for Raphael smacking into someone. "I'm sorry, let me help you with that," I apologized as a I helped pick up towels and blankets and handing them back to the Nana Marie.
"Oh good morning Marie, sorry about that I was just about to look for Raphael." She smiled at me and picked the basket up of the ground that she had.
"Good morning to you too, he's in his office four doors down," she instructed before going to finish her task. Walking down the hallway I burst in the office like I owned the place only to be met five pairs of eyes on me, one of them being Raphael's dad made me scrunch my nose in disgust.
Rolling my eyes I went to wait out in the hallway but not before catching the pissed look on Raphael's face. An hour later after a lot of yelling everyone came out the office except Raphael, peaking my head inside I see his temple with two fingers.
"Whatever it is you want you shall have, just ask Arina," he spoke up letting me know that he knew I was still there. Slowly walking into the office I sit down across from him begrudgingly.
"Oh, ok well in that case when will you be taking me home?" I ask making him sigh.
"Except that," he spoke lowly not even looking at me. He literally says I can have whatever I want then says no to what I want, I honestly don't understand how people put up with him. "You said whatever I want though," my voice trailed off ", i'm pretty sure that's something I want."
"Well ask for something else."
"My phone" I quickly blurt out
"No" he says
I ask to visit my friends and he says no, I asked to go to school and he also says no, so I ask if Charity could at least visit me and once again he says no, finally giving up I stand and get ready to leave when I stop and turn around.
"I want to give my mother a proper burial that is all I ask of you," I softly say before walking out the office slamming the door behind me.
Feeling defeated I go sit by the pool not wanting to be alone in my room. There were two bodyguards standing at the door that lead to the backyard, the guard Austin had a smug smirk on his face when he seen me and the other just gave me a soft smile.
I sat around the pool for a couple of hours until it started getting dark, I decided to grab something to eat and go back to my room. Nana Marie usually would cook but I refused, she deserved a break from picking up after everyone else, after she had went home I went on a little search for food and ultimately deciding on cereal, I have a huge sweet tooth.
Taking my food I slip into my room changing into a pair of pajamas when I here a knock on the door.
"Come in!" I yell crawling into the center of the bed when a man in a suit walked in.
"I was told to inform you that Mr.Black will be gone for three days on a business trip along with Leo and two of his trusted men so I and another guard will be here to protect you until his return."
What am I, a kid? Like seriously who needs a bodyguard when they can't even leave the house. I didn't say anything, I heard the door softly click letting me know he had left, I don't know why but I had this gut feeling that something was going to happen in the next couple of days and it wouldn't be good.
Raphael's POV
"You all ready to go?" Leo asked me as I zipped up my last suitcase. We were going to Italy to discuss how to end this ongoing war with the russians without having to marry off Rosalie, my head was still pounding from drowning myself in bourbon but work had to get done so I just had to push through it. Grabbing my suitcases I walked out of my room with Leo.
Looking down the hall I took a deep breath as I got closer to Arina's bedroom door. Slowly opening the door, I peaked my head inside to see her sound asleep with her hair messily covering her face, sighing I closed the door and made my way down to the car.
I would have security positioned around the house the whole time i'm gone and yet I still felt unsure about leaving her here all alone while I was in Italy. Throwing my suitcase in the trunk I sat up front with Leo just staring out the window, I was in no mood to talk after this morning, my meeting with my father and cousins went wrong, along with my girl and her impossible demands, now this.
My father made this job look so easy when it's the complete opposite. Everyday had a new issue and it was up to me to fix them. I felt bad about telling Arina she couldn't go to school or see her friends, she's been locked up inside for almost a month and half now but it's for her safety now.
An hour later we were pulling up in front of the private jet and my mind was still on Arina. Once we had boarded and the jet took off, Leo sat across from me and finally spoke up.
"I know what you're thinking and you're not wrong for wanting to keep her safe but you are wrong for not allowing her to go to school when you know she can online from the safety of the mansion. Also you can give her phone back I had one of the hackers program it so that it will only ring to you and your sister or me plus there's a tracker in it."
Leo was always knew how to make me see the wrong in my actions, and he was right maybe I was going about this the wrong way. Pulling out my phone I texted my sister and told her to spend time with Arina tomorrow night and to give her phone back.
Sitting back in my chair I shut my eyes hoping to get some sleep and not think about her for once. Three and a half hours later we were off the jet and on the way to my penthouse in Milan. The rest of the day was spent lounging around the penthouse and discussing deals that needed to be finalized.
"Questa è una completa stronzata!" (This is complete bullshxt) I groaned and grabbed a bottle of cave privee storming into my room making sure to shut the door behind me. Tomorrow was going to be hell and I was already getting angry just thinking about it.
