The twins had both tried Sky’s mobile endlessly since she had been taken in the vague hope she might still have it on her, and it rang and rang until it went to voice mail. Almost a week after she had gone, they called it again, and they got a gruff answer “she’s not here, i***t. Isn’t she with you?” They recognised the voice of Mr Doyle, the B&B owner.
