I gave up my love for Shian and got married to the Crown Prince, Prince Ruian. My father, the Governor under the Emperor, owed the Emperor a lot. So, an arrangement was made for my sister, Juwona, to marry the Crown Prince. The marriage was originally planned for Juwona, but she refused due to the rumors that the Prince was impotent and that marrying him would ruin her. I had no choice but to take her place, following our father's wishes. The Prince looked so much like Shian, and since Shian was dead, I thought I might as well take care of the Crown Prince just to keep Shian’s memory alive in me. I returned from Grandmother’s place and got married to the Crown Prince. The marriage meant nothing to Ruian because he was desperate to find and marry someone else, but to me, it was a lifetime commitment,because I saw Ruian as Shian. After a month of being married, I kept taking care of the Crown Prince, even though he hated me. Juwona became more than a sister to the First Queen, the Empress,Ruian’s mother. She became like a daughter to her. I became depressed and started taking herbs every night. The Crown Prince only saw me as a substitute, which made me think a lot and fall deeper into sadness. That night became unforgettable. My herbs had been tampered with and so had the Prince’s wine. “Crown Princess, your herbs are ready. May I come in?” my maid asked, then walked in and gave me the bowl of herbs. I drank it and began to feel hot, but I thought maybe the room temperature had changed. Ruian came in, like he did every night, to take his bath in my chamber. But something was wrong both our bodies felt extremely hot. The tampered herbs had taken effect. That night, we ended up sleeping together. Later, Ruian discovered that his wine had been tampered with. I stayed quiet I didn’t tell anyone that my herbs had also been tampered with. Instead, I was blamed for trying to get close to the Crown Prince. The Crown Prince lashed out at me. “I can never love you, so stop your tricks,” he said. A month later, one night after I finished bathing and was getting dressed, a man came into my chamber with a knife and told me to shut up. Just then, the Crown Prince entered. I ran into his arms, but he pushed me away, thinking I was having an affair. A month later, I started feeling strange. I went to see the Physician, and that was when I found out I was pregnant. I decided to keep it a secret to protect my baby. A few weeks after that, Juwona found out the Crown Prince wasn’t impotent and came to meet me. I told Juwona about the pregnancy because I believed she understood me better than anyone. A month later, the news spread that I was pregnant. To confirm if the baby was his, the Crown Prince called for a Physician to examine me. I tried to explain to him that my baby was three months old and that he was the only one I’d ever been with. But Ruian insisted and had the Physician check me. The Physician said I was only two months pregnant.
