Chapter 12

P.O.V. jack

Ren was silent the whole way home no matter what was going on around her. I hate that I can't hear her thoughts yet but after everything that she's been through I have to go at her pace. It is going to be really hard for me and onyx.

The rest of the night she didn't say a word to anyone. It didn't matter who was trying to talk to her, she just shut everyone out, everyone was starting to get really worried about her. Beth even walked up to me at one point and asked if there was anything I could do to help her, i told her there wasn't and that whatever was on her mind she either had to work through it on her own or she would talk to him or someone about it.

P.O.V. ren

When we got home I didn't want to talk to anyone. I needed time to sort through my thoughts.

‘You need to tell him that one of the men that was there with levi was the one that touched us ren’ phoenix says pacing in my head.

‘I can't yet….can you talk to onyx?’ I sigh sitting in the middle of my bed.

‘Yes why’

‘I don't want you telling him i want to handle this on our own nix’ she sighs and agrees

‘What are we going to do ren it's not like we can actually go to his pack lands without something happening to us’

‘I haven't figured that part out yet’ I say with a sigh laying down on my bed looking at the ceiling.

‘We could lure him out’

‘How could we do that?’

‘That i don't know’

Just then Jack walks into the room.

“Oh hey there you are, everyone has been looking for you” he says sitting down next to me.

“I haven't gone anywhere, I've been right here the whole time” I say looking at him. Silence falls over us. I know he's not sure what to say or do.

“Jack” I say sitting up.

“Ya”

“Stop walking on eggshells around me, i'm not going to break nor are you going to hurt my feelings in any way”

“ I know you are not fragile ren, my worry is bringing back memories of when you were taken i don't want to have you relive it” he says looking down at his hands.

I sigh “against my better judgment i should tell you something….” Jack looks over at me.

“When i snapped at the border it was for a few reasons”

“What reasons?”

“I'm tired of feeling helpless…like I need others to protect me….one of the men there yesterday was the man that….that” i pause for a moment and take a deep breath as jack puts his hand on my knee.

“That touched and abused me. And then when levi tried to order me around all of that helplessness feelings came back and i couldn't hold my emotions in”

“He was there” Jack growls out.

“Jack i don't want you to do anything about it” I sigh knowing my attempt to get him to stop is useless. I grab his face, not giving up.

“Jack it's alright….i'm alright…they can't touch me here….and now we know that it was Levi that had me kidnapped” nothing i was saying was reaching jack so i did the last thing i thought would help. I grip on to his face and pull him to me, kissing him softly. Suddenly he starts kissing me back and pulling me up against his chest. I wrap my arms around his neck deepening the kiss.

I pull back taking a few deep breaths “wow ren” Jack says breathlessly, putting his forehead against mine.

“I've wanted to do that since i met you just never thought i'd have the chance to….plus i thought it was the only way to get you to think straight……ish” i say giggling.

Jack lays back on the bed pulling me with him. He looks down at me and kisses me again making it deeper than it was the first time.

All of a sudden loud knocking starts up “ jack we have a huge problem get out here now” thomas yells from the other side of the door, jack jumps up looking at me with a sad look in his eyes. He opens the door to a frantic Thomas. I sit up seeing the look on his face.

“What is wrong?” I asked, walking up behind jack. Thomas looks between the two of us when the realization of what he just interrupted hits him.

“I'm sorry to intrude but we have a problem….you better come outside.” Thomas says, turning and running down the stairs and out the front door. Jack and I follow him out and see every pack member present.

“What is going on?” Jack asks thomas.

“They want answers on why ren beth and katie are still here…word spread that we had levis mate and refused to return her so now they are demanding that we return ren to him so we don't end in war” thomas says with a sigh.

“Bring katie and beth please”

“Everyone please calm down…..your beta just informed me on why you all are here. But you all are mistaken we do not have alpha levis mate ren is your rightful luna” jack grabs my hand and pulls me up next to him.

“ One of the three women that was brought here WAS his mate but he rejected her for his chosen mate none of the new pack members here belongs to alpha levi” Jack says as Katie, Beth, Thomas and Kevin show up.

“This is Katie, your new beta female. She is Thomas' mate,” he says motioning to Katie and thomas.

“ and this is Beth, she is Kevin's second chance mate….so as you all can see they are all a part of this pack now….” everyone nods and a women steps forward i notice that it's the she wolf that was trying to hit on jack at my shifting party.

“ they don't belong here jack none of them” she says with rage visible on her face.

Jack starts to say something but I interrupt him and step forward.

“And why do you think we do not belong here?” I am curious about what her answer will be.

“ you have no right to speak to me…you are the mate of another”

I just start laughing and she looks at me confused as Beth steps up next to me followed by kevin.

“That young pup is where you are very wrong….i was supposed to be the luna of alpha levis pack but he rejected me and now his chosen mate is his luna….my sister is your rightful luna and you will treat her as such”

Everyone starts to leave besides the enraged female. Soon the courtyard in front of the main pack house was empty besides her.

“ i was supposed to be your luna jack…we were supposed to be mates” she screams at jack.

I slowly walk down to her and stop right in front of her.

“You are and will never be this pack’s Luna nor Jack's mate…that title and role is already taken” I say calmly.

“Now you need to leave now…you're only making a fool out of yourself” I turn to walk away and she grabs my hair and punches me in the back of the head. Phoenix starts to take over but I stop her. I turn and punch her, knocking her to the ground.

“How dare you little girl lay hands on me” I raise my voice.

Jack walks up and grabs her by the arms lifting her to her feet

“We have never had anything all you want is power and control you are nothing but a pack member to me and that is all you will ever be now leave before i lock you up….you are to never come anywhere near this pack house nor my MATE, “ he says with his alpha voice laced with venom he drops her arm.

But she doesn't stop there; she puts both her hands on his chest and looks up at him.

“Jack please I love you and I know you love me” she pleads to him. Jack pushes her back and she strips and falls on her butt.

“Leave now before I lose my temper” he says in a very commanding voice.

She scrambles to get up, then runs off to the forest and takes off tears streaming down her face. I need to find out why she had it in her head that she would be Jack's mate. I wonder what actually happened between them.
