Chapter 11

P.O.V. jack

Ren and I walk towards my car. I can tell she is scared. I look up from looking at her and I see Beth, Thomas and Katie standing by my car with fear written all over their faces. One of the pack warriors stops right next to Beth looking at her with worry.

‘Looks like Kevin has a crush on Beth hehe' onyx says

‘Ya it looks like it…but that gives me an idea’ I say looking over at Ren.

“Hey my love go stand with the girls I need to talk to the warrior that is next to your sister”

“Okay” she says and walks the short distance to Katie and Beth.

“Kevin come here please I need to talk to you” Kevin looks at me nods and walks over.

“Yes sir”

“How close have you and Beth gotten since they got here?” I ask as I look over at beth.

“Umm….” he says nervously.

“You won't be in trouble, I am only asking because I want to find a way to protect her from having to go back to her old pack” I say with a sigh.

“O okay… we have gotten very close she has even come out with me on patrol….i know that she shouldn't be but she is very fast…..shes amazing…” he says looking down.

“I know you haven't been interested in anyone since your mate passed away and she's an amazing person and fighter” I say elbowing him.

“So would you mind if I sorta lied to their old alpha about you two being mates?” I look back up at him.

“I would be okay with it only if beth says she's fine with it” he says, looking over at beth.

“Beth can you come join us for a moment” i say with a slightly raised voice. She nods and starts walking over.

“Whats up jack?” she asks curiously looking between kevin and i.

“So i want to sorta lie to your old alpha about the two of you….so he cant take you off my land with force…i want to tell him that the two of you are mates? I know your past i know he was supposed to be your mate but chose another this would be different. You guys would be chosen mates if your okay with me telling him this..” i say looking at beth. Her face falls at the mention of him being her destined mate.

“I like kevin alot i dont know if we will actually be chosen mates but i'm okay with you lying to him about it” she says switching her weight between her feet never making eye contact with kevin.

“Soooooo act like you guys actually like each other” I say with a laugh, walking over to Ren and katie.

“What was that all about?” Katie and Ren say at the same time.

“O i was trying find a way to keep beth on my lands and in my pack im going to lie and say that they are chosen mates so he can not do a damn thing about her staying” i say with a shrug and walking over to the drivers side and unlocking the doors so the four of them can get him.

Ren climbs into the passenger seat, Beth moves to the center seat in the back and Katie and Kevin sit on either side of her.

P.O.V. ren

I wasn't sure how I felt about going and seeing my old alpha…he was cruel and always made me feel uncomfortable and I'm not sure why. Before my parents die he would always show up at weird times and always ask my parents if he could take me out places he used to buy me all sorts of gifts but my parents always told him no. they never told me why they would never let me go anywhere with him but i am glad they never did just because of the uncomfortable.

“Ren, are you okay?” Jack asks, grabbing my hand. I just nod, not trusting my voice. Beth leans forward putting her hand on my shoulder “dont worry sis he is not going to be taking any of us off this land jack found a way to make sure he can not take me you and katie are stuck but me i was not….” I look back at her and Jack confused.

“How?”

“Well kevin and beth have been spending a lot of time together lately which gave me the idea for us to lie to them about kevin and beth being second chance mates and because mate bonds are the one one hundred percent law we have even his men will not try to fight us over it”

I just nod understanding.

‘Well why don't you look at that he does actually care about how we feel’ phoenix pipes in.

‘I know he cares i just didn't think he would care enough to go against another alpha for our feelings’

We pull up to the border and both phoenix and i stop talking, both of us nervous about what is going to happen.

“Well you do have all three of my pack members with you alpha jack” Levi says walking up to the border but not crossing.

“Yes i do and for good reason” jack says getting out of the driver side the rest of us right behind him. Jack pulls me close to him as does Beth and Katie's mates.

“And what reason is that?” Levi says with anger in his voice.

“Well you see ren is my mate so…..then katie her mate is my bata and beth she was so lucky to find her second chance mate in kevin my best warrior and personal guard….so you see i have very good reason for taking three of your pack members” jack says with a smile but it doesn't reach his eyes.

“Well young alpha you are wrong about Ren being your mate because she is mine” Levi says trying to bait Jack into a fight.

“That is where you are very very wrong and lying….i should know levi” Beth takes a step away from kevin but doesn't walk too far.

I look at her confused. How would she know who his mate is? Levi looks at her with disgust in his eyes.beth looks at me with pain in her eyes.

“I was supposed to be your true mate but you rejected me levi so no my little sister is not your mate….you have a chosen mate” beth says kevin pulls her to him knowing how much it hurts to lose a mate no matter the reason.

“So you see levi you have no business here so you might as well go back to your pack” jack sounds just like a true alpha he's confident in what he's saying even though it's a lie.

“But that is where you are wrong…..ren is mine” levi growls

“I BELONG TO NO ONE ALPHA LEVI” i snap surprising everyone. Everyone standing behind Levi takes a step back, even some of the wolves standing around us step back away from me.

“You only speak when spoken to pup!” Levi snaps.

“ I AM LUNA OF THIS PACK AND YOU WILL NOT SPEAK TO ME AS I AM SOMEONE'S PROPERTY ESPECIALLY YOURS NOW LEAVE THESE BORDERS BEFORE I GET MORE OF OUR WARRIORS TO ESCORT YOU HOME!” I say with power laced in my words Jack stares at me in shock.

‘You surprised our mate he wasn't expecting that out of us’ phoenix says with a giggle

‘I'm tired of being afraid nix i'm a luna it's time i start acting like it and demand respect’

“Now since you have no more business being around our borders we are going home” Jack says, taking my shaking hand leading me back to the car. The rest of them follow. We all get in and slowly back out.

“Pull over” phoenix growls out in obvious need for a run. Jack glances over noticing that I’m no longer in control and pulls over.

“Are you okay?” Everyone in the car asks.

“I need a run,” Phoenix says, opening the door and disappearing into the woods before she hits the tree line.

P.O.V jack

I watch for a moment as phoenix takes off into the woods. ‘Go after our mate’ onyx says, shaking me out of my train of thought. Opening the door I look at Kevin and he just nods.

I take off after Ren and phoenix changing into my wolf following her amazing scent. ‘Do you think we can Catch up to her?’ I ask as we get up to our full speed.

‘With how mad Levi made her I don’t think so’

‘Ren baby slow down’ I mind link her.

Shortly after I see her beautiful ash black fur sitting under a weeping willow. I slowed down watching her. She looked so beautiful.

‘Is everything alright my love’ . I mind link her sitting down next to her.

‘Yes im ok….after being kidnapped and everything that they did i felt so helpless and i didnt like that feeling and neither did phoenix and when he talked to me like that it just brought everything that happened and i snapped….honestly it felt good to finally put him in his place….’

She says getting up and going into a little hole in the tree and grabbing clothes, she shifts and gets dressed.

“Are you ready to go back?” I asked getting a pair of shorts. She just nods and starts heading towards the pack house.
