Hannah sat at a table, her eyes were fixed on the flowers in her garden. She appeared to be lost in thought as she raised the glass in her hands to take a sip of tea. She could sense something was off but what? The treaty was to be signed in two days, it had been put on hold for the wedding and then again while Samuel and Lilith were away. Was it just nerves, no!! She wasn’t nervous, there was no reason to be. The witches never drew first blood, they would only retaliate if attacked. They had wanted peace long before the wolves ever suggested it. Hell they had even tried to break the curse but the wolves didn’t want that. They were happy in the way they had evolved over the centuries. Who could blame them, heightened senses, exceptional strength, quicker healing abilities and best of all being able to find your soulmate. Hannah’s thoughts were interrupted “Miss it’s Samuel” a young lady held out a phone.
Hannah took the phone and placed it to her ear “hello son in law” Samuel was quiet for a moment but then spoke “its Lilith, something is wrong, the pack doctor can’t figure it out. She needs you, and bring a healer” Hannah quickly grabbed a few herbs from the garden placed them in a bag and left. It was an hour drive to the territory but Hannah made it in 45 minutes. Anna quickly opened the door when she saw Hannah’s car, Thadius and Samuel were waiting for her inside. “Where is she?” Worry filled her voice. She made her way down a hall and entered the room. Lilith lay unconscious and drenched in sweat. Hannah placed her hands on Lilith one on her forehead and one on her heart.
Hannah had completed the incantation and knew what they were dealing with. She exited the room sat with the other three who were already there. She knew what she was about to say would not go over well but she had questions and needed answers if she was going to save her daughter. “Lilith has been poisoned” she stated as a matter of fact. She didn’t give them a chance to speak. “When did you return, and when did her symptoms start? I also need to know exactly what her symptoms were?” Samuel answered her questions without hesitation. They had returned three days ago and her symptoms started less than twenty four hours ago.
Hannah returned to Liliths side taking out a few vials from her bag. She placed some of her herbs in a glass and poured the contents of the vials over them. She waved her hand over the glass as she spoke another incantation. She carefully lifted Liliths head with one hand as she held the glass to her lips with the other “honey, I need you drink.” Liliths weak body responded to her mother’s request and she did what she was told.
Samuel immediately stood when he saw Hannah enter the room “will she be okay?” His voice cracked. Hannah knew Samuel would never hurt Lilith, he would die to save her. “She’s not out of the woods yet, it’ll be a few hours before we know for sure.” Hannah directed her attention to Thadius “the treaty is to be signed in two days, I expect this matter will be taken care of before that time arrives.” Thadius understood and Hannah was well within her rights to threaten the pack when her daughters life was on the line. The next thing she said shocked everyone in the room “who else knows about the pregnancy?”
