Alone
Andrew awoke with a jolt, his thick brunette hair was drenched with sweat.  He couldn’t recall the dream that woke him so abruptly but it had reoccured so often that he knew it well by now.  The screeching tires and ear shattering sound of twisted metal would forever haunt him.  It was the night his parents died, while he slept soundly in the back seat.   He splashed his face with cold water and stared at his reflection, he was young the day his world crashed but he could still remember his mother’s eyes. Those eyes seemed to stare back at him now, green with little specks of brown.       It was early, the sun had just started to make its way over the horizon. Andrew knew he only had a few hours before he would be expected to leave his room or pay for another night. He didn’t have the money for another night so leaving was his only option. He tossed himself on the bed and decided to try and get a little more sleep before he was made to leave.        It wasn’t long before he was disturbed by a knocking on his door. It must be 11 already, that was the time room service normally came knocking to clean the room. He grabbed his bag which he kept neatly packed and headed out the door. He passed the short statured woman and her cart of supplies without a single word.        The sun was up but it wasn’t hot thanks to the fall weather, it was late September and it wouldn’t be long before winter.  “Let’s find a job shall we?” Andrew said to himself. A voice in his head responded “yes we’ll need a roof over our head before long.” It wasn’t like Andrew hated sleeping under the stars, he actually felt content with nature, but he also liked the comfort of a bed.       The walk from the hotel into town wasn’t far and he didn’t tire easily so it didn’t bother him. After all he was only nineteen he had plenty of energy for walking.  Welcome to Monkshood the sign said as he got closer to the tiny town.  The town seemed small maybe three thousand or so occupants.  “Maybe we’ll have some luck” his conscious spoke back “hmmm maybe, but this place feels odd
