Omar's p.o.v

Shìt, I just found out I got Mayra pregnant. I have actually liked her for a long time. She is cute and sweet, but she is a little weird and people talk about her alot because of that, so I have kept our relationship on the down low for some time now. I am popular and being popular comes with big responsibilities, the most popular girl clinged on to me. Julia is beautiful, but she can get quite annoying. Her family is one of the wealthier families here in town. Her father owns a construction company here and he has taken Tucker and I under his wing. We just graduated and he offered us a paid internship in his company. I am so excited. At a family dinner a couple of months ago, Julia told her dad that we were very serious which I didn't even have a clue that we were. I was hoping that after graduation she would leave to college and I didn't have to hide my relationship with Mayra anymore, but turns out Julia is going to college out here as well. In this small town, people usually get married and start their families rather young. It isn't uncommon. So Julia's father basically offered to give me his whole company if I married his daughter. It sounded like too good of an offer to refuse. I won't even have to go half and half on a company with Tucker like he and I had planned. Julia's dad will basically just hand this company over to me because Julia is his only child and well I am her husband. Once he retires of course which I believe he wants to fo soon. Our wedding day was the worst. I had to smile and fake happiness infront of her family and when we arrived home Mayra was outside and Julia rubbed it in her face. I will never forget my babygirl's face when Julia told her the bad news. I have tried to stay away from Mayra so Julia won't bìtch me out. I was looking for a way to sneak around woth her, but when she told me at graduation that she is pregnant, I knew then and there that I have to be there for her and our baby. Of course Julia's family can't find out. Atleast I am in a better position to help Mayra. I have no idea how I am going to do this though. I think it is about time I move Julia away from here so I can come and go as I please. I never in my life thought I would be one of those men with 2 families, but yet here I am.

Mayra's p.o.v

A moving truck pulls up and I see Omar and Julia loading their things. They are moving out. My heart squeezes painfully. A couple of months have passed. I am now showing a little. Today I have a dr's appointment and I will find out the gender of my baby. I texted Omar and it showed that he read it, but he never replied. I guess he won't be going with me to the appointment. Mom and dad both have to work but last week they gifted me a car so I can get arround and not have to wait on them. I also started my classes at the community college and after the baby is born, I will look for a part time job so I can save up and get my baby and I our own little place. I am happy with where my life is going right now. I have accepted the fact that I will be a single mother and don't expect Omar to come through for me like he claims he will. I get in my car and turn it on. Both Omar and Julia turn around and look at me. I pop my trunk open to make sure my purse is in there. I grab it and get back inside. I pull out of the driveway and make my way to the clinic. I sit in the waiting room and watch as other women have their partners with them. I see a man rubbing the mother of his child's stomach. Another couple decide on baby names and here I am, sitting all alone. While the father of my child moves away with his wife. "Mayra Arroyo" The nurse calls my name. I stand up and go through all the pre appointment procedures that I am now used to. She leaves me in a room where the dr comes inside. She is an older woman. "Okay Mayra, today we are going to find out if you are having a baby boy or a babygirl" she tells me. "Can I record so I can show my family? They weren't able to make it due to work" I tell the dr who nods in agreement. I record as she moves the wand around my stomach and then I record the screen that shows my baby. You can see the baby's whole body already. Looks like it has a big head like it's dad. I chuckle to myself. "Okay miss Mayra, you are having a boy" she tells me and turns on the monitor for me to hear my baby boy's heart beat. I cry tears of happiness. "Here, get cleaned up" she says and hands me a rag and she prints out some pictures for me to take home. She hands them to me and I look at them and on the top of one of them it says I'm a boy Too cute. I thank her and make my way back home. When I arrive, the moving truck is gone. I decide to go out to the mall and ignore the pang in my heart. I leave the pictures on the kitchen table for mom and dad to see when they get home.

I walk around the mall and see various stores that are hiring. I walk into the pregnancy story called New Mommy and look around. I find some cute shirts and jeans on clearance that will fit my growing belly. I stand in line to pay and when it is my turn I place all of my items on the counter. Next to me is a little tray with little stuffed animals. There's a cute small black wolf, a grey one and a giraffe, I add the black wolf to my purchase. "You know, we are hiring and the owner is actually looking to hire pregnant women. She has a program to help young mothers after they give birth as well. She gives out great health insurance too." she tells me. I smile. This sounds like a great opportunity. "Where can I apply?" I aks her. "she is actually on her way here. If you wait she should be here any minute and she can interview you" she tells me. "Okay, let me just go grab something to drink at the food court and I will be right back" I tell her. I walk out and I am feeling so happy. It already looks like things will be changing for me. All I can do is hope that I land this job. I wasn't expecting it, but if the owner is looking for a pregnant girl, then I am right here. I will just have to tell her about my school schedule and hope she can schedule me around those hours. I grab a drink and a slice to pizza because I am hungry. I eat it on my way back to the store and drink my drink. By the time I make it into the store, I throw the trash infront of a can by the store and straighten my clothes and walk in. The same girl from earlier greets me. "Hey boss, this is the girl I was telling you about" she tells another lady who turns and looks at me. She has a kind face and a beautiful smile. "Hi, my name is Miranda" she says. "Hi I am Mayra" I say. We shake hands. "Come, lets go to the back so I can get to know you better." she tells me and I follow her. We sit on some big comfortable chairs. "So, tell me about yourself" she says and I tell her everything. How I am pregnant and I recently graduated but I am going to college already. How I don't want to waste any time."That's great to hear. So what is your schedule like. From what time to what time are you in school?" she asks. I tell her everything and at the end of the interview which didn't even seem like an interview, she tells me I am hired and we worked out that I can work in the afternoons. I will go there once I am done with my last class and I will work until the store closes. 3pm-10pm. I will have the weekends off and I do get health benefits and discount on clothes and baby items. I am so excited. "Thank you, thank you so much" I say and hug her. "Sorry. I am just so happy. I really need this job and the money. I want to prove to everyone that I can do this alone" I blurt out on accident. "Alone? Dear, where is the father?" she asks. "He got married to someone else and doesn't want his wife and her family to find out" I say and sigh. "Oh I am so sorry, well I am here if you ever need anything, now go on home and rest and I will see you here tomorrow. I will train you personally." she tells me. I wave and ay goodbye. I hurry home and give my parents the good news. They are happy for me. Dad says he's proud that I am being responsible. Finally things are starting to look up and it feels like I can do this alone. That is until I get a text "Come outside."
