I pulled her small frame to myself, engulfing her in a warm hug. I felt her body stiffen in my arms but she soon surrendered and her tears wouldn't stop flowing.
Her shoulders shook and shuddered in tears as she kept mumbling some incoherent words under her breath while holding onto me.
“I loved her, I swear I did. I did everything to please her. I did all her bidding and tried to be on her good side. How could she decide to pay me back like this? What did I ever do wrong? All I did was exist, it was never my fault that the moon goddess decided in her benevolence to keep me alive till now, I didn't choose to be born in the first place, why do I have to suffer so much for what I know nothing about?” She lamented, her tears soaking my shirt.
