Before Maggie could get another word out she heard the dial tone, so she pulled the phone from her ear, holding it out in front of her face. She couldn't ride back with them, but protecting them from what was going on was more important to her than the fact that Philip was upset, and she would have that over placing him or Rosy's life in harms way. The fewer of them that had any idea as to what was going on, the better.

That was the only way Maggie knew how to protect them, and she hoped that her not telling them about what was going on would protect them both from what was soon to come.
