Chapter 2

***Ivy’s POV***

We started the run around the Packhouse, we then ran into the forest, running in between trees, jumping over logs and small waterways. We ended the run at the lake, and we all jumped into the water to cool down. As I was walking out of the water towards the bank, I caught a strange scent, I lifted my nose and took in a deep breath. Joe walked over to me and nudged my head. Ciara, what’s going on? He mind-linked me. I growled when I recognized that scent, only one thing could smell like dead flesh and rotten eggs. I looked over at Joe and opened the mind-link to the whole pack.

ROGUES!

Ciara started running towards the smell. Joe was trying to tell me to wait, but I didn’t listen. I felt my power surge through me and I ran as fast as I could to the north side of the pack where the smell was the strongest. As I got to the far north side of the Pack, I could hear multiple growls coming in every direction. I got into a fighting stance, ready for them to attack. I turned in a circle covering the area, trying to find where they would attack from. A few seconds later, Joe and the rest of the Pack that came on the run came running to join me. We stood back-to-back waiting for them to come into view. I felt someone trying to link me and I opened the connection. Ivy, where are you? Tobias’s worried voice came through. On the far north side of the pack, I’m not sure how many there are. Ciara said. Ciara, what are you doing there? You need to get somewhere safe. Miles came through, then, I closed the link to concentrate. I heard Miles roar and I knew he was mad, but I couldn't think about that right now, I had to protect the Pack. I stepped forward to get a better look at how many rogues there were. Ciara, what are you doing? Come back here. Joe growled at me, I turned to face him and he stepped back as he saw my eyes. I could feel that they were glowing. No, this is my fight and I will do everything I can to protect my Pack. Ciara and I both said at the same time. I stepped forward again and a rouge suddenly jumped out of the bush, it tried to wrap its teeth around my throat, but I dogged the attack and grabbed a hold of its back leg ripping it clean off, throwing it up in the air. The rest of the Pack joined in with me and we attacked. Ethan had gotten corned by three rouges, I jumped into the air and used my power to lift them up and slam them down to the ground. There was a sickening crunch and they didn’t get up again. Ciara, where are you? Miles growled into the mind linked. I turned around and saw him fighting four rogues. He was fighting a rouge up against a tree and there were four more surrounding him. I growled and ran towards them. I charged towards one rouge and grabbed hold of its neck, I shock my head and heard a crack. I could feel myself getting angry. I’m right here. I growled and he turned around and faced me. Tobias’s eyes were glowing, I shot a ball of light at him, he caught the light in his mouth and shot it into the rouges face. I heard a whimpering behind me and saw that one of the rogues had Joe pinned down and ripping into his shoulder. He howled in pain. I could see Carter trying to get to him. I felt my fur grow warm and noticed that it was glowing brighter. Ciara shifted back and I floated into the air, I saw the remaining rouges fighting our Pack, I growled and lifted up my hands, bright light started flowing out of my palms, the light wrapped around the remaining rogues and I squeezed my palms closed and lifted them into the air. I moved one of the rouges closer to me and roared, looking it straight in the eyes, they started to thrush around trying to get away from me and I tightened my grip on them. I turned back to the one I head moved closer to me.

“Who sent you?” Ciara and I asked at the same time. It started to struggle again, and I growled.

“I will ask you one more time. WHO SENT YOU!” I said in my Luna command. The rouge stopped struggling and whimpered. It looked into my eyes and lowered its head. Alpha Jack, promised that we could join his pack if we took down the Lotus Pack and brought the Luna back with us. I growled at them, I was about to say something else when they all started foaming in the mouth. I let them drop to the ground with a thud. I saw Carter running over to Charlie and floated over to them. Carter was holding Charlie close to his chest and he had tears in his eyes. He could feel every bit of pain Charlie was feeling through their mate bond. Tobias was trying to stop the bleeding coming out of Charlie's shoulder with a ripped shirt, but his arm was hanging off. I landed on the ground and slowly walked over to them.

“Carter, everything is going to be okay.” Ciara and I said, brushing my hand over his cheek. I placed my hands on Charlie's wounded arm and he screamed out in pain. Carter bent down and kissed him on his forehead, trying to soothe him. I gathered my last remaining bit of energy I had and poured it into Charlie. His wound closed to a small cut and my light began to fade away. I looked up at Charlie and smiled at him,

“Thank you Ivy.” He sighed as the pain finely evaporated. As I stood up, I started to see black spots in my vision and my head felt like i was floating on clouds. I shook my head trying to get the spots out of my vision, but it just made it worse. I put my hand to my head and gasped. I was having trouble getting air into my lungs. Was I having a panic attack?

“Luna, are you okey?” Charlie asked in a panicked voice. I felt my legs turn to jelly and I started to fall.

“Tobias grab her.” Carter yield as I began to fall to the ground. I didn’t know how long I was out for, but I felt the sparks run up and down my arms and across my back. I slowly opened my eyes and looked up at Tobias. He had me tightly wrapped in his arms, I reached up and touch his cheek. He stopped walking and looked down at me.

“Ivy you scared the sh*t out of me, you wouldn’t wake up, you used too much of your energy again love. You are lucky I had some of your magic still in me. I had to use it to give you some energy back.”

“Love I’m fine, I promise. I do have to tell you something though,” I said in a weak voice.

What is it?” he asked, a little bit of concern in his eyes.

“While I had the rogues in the air, I asked who sent them. They said Jack sent them, who knows who else he will send.” I said to him, looking worried.

“I think I can help with that.” Tim said, catching up to us.

“Ivy, I told you to be careful when using your powers. If you drain too much of your energy, you could die.” Tobias growled at what he had said and I hit him over the head.

“Don’t growl at my dad, but he is right. I just couldn’t control it, seeing Charlie hurt like that. I just lost control. But I did get the answers we needed.” I said, smiling up at them. They both gave me angry looks and I rolled my eyes and snaggled beeper into Tobias's chest.
