Few Days Later
As I sat on the hospital bed, waiting to be discharged, a sense of unease settled over me like a heavy shroud. Alpha Kyan was beside me, his attention focused on the paperwork the nurse had handed him. His brow was furrowed in concentration as he scrawled his signature across the pages.
But before he could finish, the door swung open and the doctor entered the room, his expression grave. Instantly, I tensed, a knot of anxiety forming in the pit of my stomach. What could the doctor want? Was there something wrong?
