THE BROTHERS LEGACY

“Sir, Mr Wayland called for you,”Serena said her voice trembling slightly as she look in the sight before her. The door to the room was swung open, revealing a shirtless Jace, he’s physique on full display. Serena heart racing as she took a step back, her eyes fixed on Jace smirking face. “Mr Wayland called for you sir’” she stuttered. “are you..Jalen? Jace smirk deepened “no,I’m Jace, and you are..? Serena face flushed as she apologized. “Oh, I’m sorry sir.” She quickly turned and rushed down the stairs her feet pounding, her steps in haste. As she reached the bottom, she spotted Mr Wayland and exclaimed:”sir.. I..I..didn’t find jalen.. Mr. Wayland, seated on the couch, spoke softly, "Dear, my sons will be down shortly. I'll introduce you to them." Serena smiled and replied, "Okay, sir." Just then, Jacob, the eldest son, descended the stairs, his eyes locking onto Serena's attractive figure. He licked his lips, a sly grin spreading across his face. "Whoa, who do we have here, Dad?" Mr. Wayland smirked, "You bastard, did you even bother to greet your dad?" Jacob chuckled, taking a seat beside his father. "Dad, huh-huh, don't say that. Sorry. How are you, Sugar Daddy?" Serena, still frozen in place, struggled to process Jacob's forward behavior. Before she could react, Jalen's voice echoed from the staircase, "Jacob, you brought a wife home? Ohhh, she's hot!" Jacob smirked, "Brought who? I don't know her." Mr. Wayland intervened, "This is Serena, the housekeeper's daughter. She'll be living with us now." Jacob's eyes sparkled with interest as he extended his hand. "Oh, Serena, umm, I'm Jacob. Nice to meet you." Serena's smile faltered for a moment before she regained her composure. "Thank you, sir." Jalen, now standing beside Jacob, flashed a charming smile. "I'm Jalen. So, Dad, what's the story with our new houseguest?" Mr. Wayland's expression remained neutral. "She'll be staying with us. That's all you need to know." Just then, Jace appeared at the bottom of the stairs, his eyes fixed on his father. "Dad, I'm heading out. I need to get some things done." Without waiting for a response, Jace turned and walked away, leaving the others to wonder about his abrupt departure. Jalen smirked, "Dad, where's Mrs Williams?" Mr. Wayland replied "She's Serena's mother. Now that Serena's finished college, she'll be staying with us. He turned to his sons, "Okay, boys, I'll head to the office now." Jacob began to speak, but Mr. Wayland cut him off, "Jacob, you need to focus on your exams. You can't handle the company without them. Jacob's face flushed as he muttered, "Okay, Dad," and walked away. With Mr Wayland gone, Jalen and Serena were left alone in the sitting room. Jalen poured himself a drink at the bar and walked behind Serena, "Hey, want some?" Serena shivered, "Umm, I don't drink, thank you." Jalen smiled, "Oh, okay, that's good. How old are you?" Serena replied, "I'm 24. Jalen's eyes lit up, "Oh, wow, we're the same age!" Serena smiled, but before she could respond, Jacob interrupted from across the room, "Jalen, what are you doing with the maid's daughter?" Jalen shrugged, "Just asking her age, nothing more." Serena tried to excuse herself, but Jalen caught her arm, "Where are you going?" Serena explained, "I should help my mom now." Jalen smiled, "Oh, okay, catch you later." As Serena walked away, Jacob and Jalen exchanged a look, and Jacob whispered, "Damn, that body." In the kitchen, Serena found her mom preparing dinner. She smiled, "Mom?" Mrs Williams looked up, "You met the Wayland sons?" Serena nodded, "Yes, mom – Jacob, Jalen, and Jace." Mrs. Williams advised, "And remember, Jace is the nicest, even if he acts off sometimes. He's always reading." Serena frowned, "The two brothers are flirty, I don't like the energy." As the evening descended, the Wayland family gathered around the dinner table. Mr. Wayland, Jalen, and Jacob took their seats, while Serena and her mom served them. Jalen said, "Hey, eat with us Serena." Serena looked at her mom, who shook her head in refusal. Serena said, "No, no Mr. Jalen, I already had mine in the kitchen." Mr. Wayland frowned, "Serena, this is also your home, okay? Be free around here." Serena smiled, "Oh... okay sir!" As the dinner concluded, Jace emerged from the study, his eyes locking onto Serena in the kitchen. Jace said, "Hey!" Before Serena could respond, Jace walked past her, grabbed a plate, and scooped himself a plate of dinner. He walked towards the couch and sat next to Serena. Jace murmured, "Hmm, this is delicious. Mrs Williams is really a great cook. Serena smiled, "Yes, that's right, sir." Jacob's eyebrows twitched, "Sir? No, no, I'm not old. Call me by my name, Serena. My name is Jace." Serena smirked, "No, sir, it's disrespectful." Jace frowned, "I think 'sir' is more disrespectful." Serena said, "Hmmm, okay, fine. I'll call you by your name, Jace." Jace felt satisfied, "Exactly... I love that." Jacob, who had been standing at the door entrance, coughed and said, "Okay, okay, Jace, what are you trying to do? Flirt with her?" Serena stood up quickly, "No, no, sir, it's not what you think!" Jace smirked, "Serena, sit down. What's wrong with you?" Jacob said, "You act like you know nothing, but you're a green snake." Jace stood up, threw his plate of food, and walked closer to Jacob. "Say that one more time and see what I'll do to you, Jacob." Jacob dared him, "I dare you to lay a finger on me, Jace." Jace smirked, "You know I definitely can't, but can you just stop putting your nose in my business, Okay? Jace walked away angrily, leaving Serena standing there, feeling confused and unsure of what to make of the brothers' animosity towards each other. Two days later. Serena was in her room when the lights suddenly went out. It was late, and she needed to take a bath, but she didn't even have a phone to call for help. As she moved towards the switch to turn the lights back on, she felt someone touch her. She froze, her voice shaking as she asked, "Who's here?" Before she could get an answer, her mouth was covered, and she was grabbed by a strong pair of hands. Serena tried to struggle, but she couldn't overpower the person. As she weakened, her senses recalled the person's smell, and she realized it was Jacob. Jacob laid her on the bed and took advantage of her. Serena cried out for help, but no one came to her rescue. She was too weak to cry anymore, and Jacob realized she had fainted. He quickly stood up and rushed out of the room. Jace, who was coming out of the study room, saw Jacob exit Serena's room. He raised an eyebrow, wondering what Jacob was doing in her room at that late hour. Mrs. Williams, Serena's mom, had just finished washing the dishes and headed to her room, unaware of the traumatic event that had occurred in Serena's room. The power outage had lasted for 20 minutes, and when the lights came back on, Serena slowly regained consciousness. As she struggled to cry out, she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen. She recalled the horrific scene, and tears streamed down her face. She stumbled to the bathroom, where she saw blood dripping down her legs. She sat on the toilet seat, overcome with grief and anguish. "He r***d me," she whispered to herself, feeling helpless and alone. She knew she couldn't tell her mom about the incident, fearing her mom's anger and the potential consequences for their living arrangement. The next morning, Serena woke up early, trying to compose herself. She dressed and headed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast, but her mom was already there, cooking away. Mrs. Williams smiled and asked Serena how she was doing, but Serena just forced a smile and said she slept well. Meanwhile, Mr. Wayland had left for a business trip, leaving the Wayland sons and Serena's family alone in the house. Jacob was in his room, door slightly opened, and was on a phone call. Jalen, passing by Jacob's room, overheard him say, "Don't tell me that nonsense, because of you, I had to sleep with the new girl. She's even a virgin. I couldn't control myself. I just had to." Jalen's eyes widened in shock, and he froze, unsure of what to do next.
