“I was scared, Kate.” Billy dropped her chin. “Everyone started dying. Nancy first. Then Trash and Tess. Everyone who was close to Elaine. I figured you or I would be next.”
“But why didn’t you come to me.”
Billy flinched. “God, I so wish I had...” her words trailed off and she slumped, fighting the demons inside. “Please Kate. Please remember, I didn’t know you then. When Tess asked me to take the photos at your apartment that night, I had never met you. Didn’t know who you were or whose side you were on. It was just an assignment between projects; I had time on my hands and Tess said Tiger paid well and that they were just playing a joke on someone.”
