Messy days
I looked up into the starry night sky, the moonlight creeping into my room slowly. I took a deep breath and turned the page of my book "Mafia World". Damn.
Hunter was so good at fighting, oh Hunter was the kid with a troubled past. He was forced to join the gang at a young age.
He was so good-looking. Typical Mafia.
He had deep green eyes, muscular, his hair like silk yet messy. God, I loved him.
I sipped at my coffee as I read a few more chapters.
My eyes began to droop, drowsiness taking control. The next thing I knew was that my mom was calling me, no wait, waking me up.
"Yes Mom," I answered drowsily. "Genevieve, " she screamed, "It's getting late, you have school today, remember!"
Ugh, I hate school. I took a glance at my book, Hunter was all I could think of, the only man I could ever let myself lose to. I quickly got myself ready and jumped in the car.
"Genie, dear, "Mom's voice was low and gentle, I knew where this was headed, "Dear, you are young," she said. I rolled my eyes dramatically. "Mom, I'm 18," I replied, a tinge of annoyance clearly visible in my tone.
Mom sighed heavily, "Okay sweetie" was her last word before she pulled up by the gates. She planted a kiss on my forehead before I got off. I watched quietly as she drove away. I followed Katherine and Maryann to the class. They were my bestie since...well...for as long as I could remember.
Gazes fell heavily on me, as I stepped into the class. Guess what, I was the only girl in class who never had a boyfriend, yes not even one. They stared awkwardly at me. I knew a few boys who had crushes on me but you see, they weren't Hunter, they were of Gagamel from Smurfs. Or like Prince Charming, overrated. Hunter was different, he never demanded attention, he just well, you know he could make the whole room silent just by his mere presence.
I smiled awkwardly and took a seat. I went through the day minding my own business until Hazzan showed up."Hey sweetie, wanna hang out after school?" I rolled my eyes and pushed my way past him. I felt a firm grip on my wrist, "You are so adorable my little fighter," his voice menacing and low. I struggled to free my wrist. Unexpectedly I punched him in the face. The whole school seemed to have frozen at that moment.
I just laid my hands on the school's tough guy, the famous basketball player. Now I know what you are thinking but believe me, he's not my type...I can't ever be with a jerk like that.
I'm sure you are aware what what happened after that.
Principal Selve stared at me, I could tell he was slightly happy but he'd never admit it. Especially when the parents are as rich and influential as the Keldens. Mom and Dad looked at me, disappointed but not so surprised. I had violent tendencies sometimes and it flares up when I'm nervous. "We are so sorry sir, "my dad said, his voice firm but filled with embarrassment. I dropped my gaze to the floor, I was pretty nervous and I didn't want to cause more trouble than I already had.
"This girl is a threat to our school," Hazzan's mother exclaimed in her high-pitched tone.
I swallowed hard trying my best to control myself. My hands are itching.
Hazzan smirked at me, mocking my situation. "Baby, say yes!" he mouthed. Okay, that was it. Even I never realised when
my legs started moving but it did and it landed you know where. Hazzan howled in pain, his mother rushing to his side. The rest were too stunned to move including me.
That was it...I was expelled not even suspended, expelled.
I was lowkey happy but my comfort zone was being taken away. "I-I-I'm sorry," I said when we finally reached home, the words felt bitter coming out. It wasn't even my fault, it was his. But anyway, I wasn't as rich or influential as they so an apology was needed.
"Gene, dear, how.Many. Times. Have. I. Told. You!" Mom screamed, putting extra emphasis on each word, "To. Control. Your. Self!"
My lips trembled, tears welled up in my eyes. "It wasn't my fault," I murmured, "he was just hurting me."
I ran off to my room without saying anything further. I threw myself on the bed, hugged my pillow, and let the tears flow.
The moonlight shone brightly on my book. Teary-eyed, I reached for it, my tears wetting the pages. Hunter was the one person I felt safe around.
" I wish you were here!" I said before dozing off.
The next morning I awoke, but something had changed. I wasn't exactly sure what but I could feel it. I took a deep breath and stepped out of my room. Mom just looked at me, her anger evident in her eyes. Awkward silence.
I quietly sat at the table and swallowed the breakfast. The sudden sound of the doorbell cut through the tension. It was the postman.
Now I was definitely moving schools much to my mom's annoyance. It was the fifth time this year I had changed schools, wherever I went Katherine and Maryann followed, I could tell that even they were fed up with me.
I smiled.
"So where to next?" I asked eagerly. Dad just stared at me blankly, but I'm certain you know what Mom had to say to me
"Silverdale High" Dad answered. I wasn't surprised, Silverdale had the worst reputation ever. It was that one school no kid ever chose. They were very...well it was called the most stringent school in town.
I sighed heavily.
"Seriously guys, of all the damn schools, Silverdale?"
"Watch that tongue of your Genevieve!"
Genevieve, Mom only called me that when she was extremely angry at me. I knew I was in trouble this time.
"Mom, Silverdale is the most torturous school here!" I argued. I was already in trouble, a little more won't hurt.
"And you are the most troublesome kid here, young lady!"
"Not by choice,"
"Just shut up before I make you Genevieve "
"But,..."
I was cut off by the loud bang of the table.
"Genevieve!" Dad screamed. I trembled in fear.
"You are going to Silverdale and it's the final!"
"Yes, Dad!" I said, my voice low and timid.
So Silverdale it is.
