The long awaited day had finally came. The entire kingdom was in a festive mood as they prepared for the wedding of their very own, princess Amelia. The wedding was a grand one as everyone from far and near were invited. Everyone was so busy preparing for the wedding as the king had ordered for everything to be perfect and no mistakes were to be entertained at all.
Karen entered her room to find her still on her bed, whether she was asleep or not, she couldn't tell. "My lady, it's your wedding today and you are still sleeping?! Come on, I'll be the one to get you ready myself." " I don't want to get married Karen!" She said sitting up. Her eyes were swollen and it was evident she had cried all through the night. "My lady, I know you don't want to get married but you don't have a say in this matter. Trust me my dear, I understand your pain. You are being forced to marry a man you don't even know! But what can you do, you've already given your word. So instead of hiding here and crying, I suggest you start getting ready." Karen was right. She had to do this. She had already given her word to her father. Besides, her father will surely send them to come find her if she isn't ready on time. "Okay Karen, I'm ready to do this." "That's more like it." Karen remarked and led her towards the bathroom.
After an intense cleaning, dressing and make up session, she finally opened her eyes. She was in awe as she looked at herself in the mirror. "Karen is that me?" She asked touching her face. "Yes dear. You were already beautiful, I didn't do much. Now let's get going before your father sends the entire palace guards to come find you." She chuckled at her joke, but it was true though. She stood up quickly and examined herself from head to toe. She was dressed in silver white wedding gown with an off-shoulder and a V-neck. She wore long white gloves and a beautiful diamond necklace was hung firmly on her neck. The gown flowed down to the floor and was designed with little diamonds and pearls that shone brightly in the sun. She also had on, long diamond earrings which contrasted with her necklace. Her long hair was also styled beautifully and adorned with pearls. She looked like one of those princesses from fairytales. After one final look, Karen took her hand and led her out of the room and towards the courtyard where the wedding was to be held.
All the guests had already arrived and were eagerly waiting for the bride. The groom was already standing, he was clad in black trousers and a long shirt that stopped just by his knees. His clothes were embroidered with silver designs and his very dark hair was neatly trimmed and his beard, well shaved. His emerald blue eyes made him stand out in the crowd. He was inexplicably handsome.
Her presence was announced and as she stepped into the courtyard, she felt all eyes on her and with every step she took, her body shook and her heart bled. She had no choice, she had to do this for her father's sake. With a firm resolve, she held her head high and moved forward.
The princess entered the venue with a swarm of bridesmaids trailing behind her holding bunches of white flowers. Her long, white veil hung on her head and a beautiful diamond tiara was placed on top of it and as she walked towards her husband-to-be, she looked like one that just stepped out of a magazine, she was extremely beautiful.
She was now standing before him, she looked up at him and for the first time, she noticed how handsome he was. She was awestruck for a minute but managed to compose herself. This man was a model, no a mini God, he was so very good looking that women could kill to have him and she had also heard about how wealthy he was. Perhaps, this was the reason her dad was insisting she marry him.
They took their wedding vows and the wedding was completed. It was done! she was officially prince Liam's wife now. Tears welled up in her eyes at the thought of never seeing her parents again but she quickly banished that thought and wiped her tears, she was only getting married and not dying. she was sure she could work out something with Liam to allow her come to visit once in a while. But now wasn't the right time to think about all that because, the next thing she knew, they were being called to the grand ballroom for their first dance.
"my lady, it's time for the dance. your father has ordered that you and his highness are accompanied to the ballroom." Ruger informed and led the way.
The ballroom was decorated to the fullest, lights of different kinds hung around the place and a grand chandelier hung up at the center of the room. The ballroom dance was held in the evening and was only restricted to royals or people of royal standards. Different kings, queens, princes and princesses all graced the occasion.
Everyone was in a festive mood, everyone except her. How could she celebrate when she didn't even approve of this alliance in the first place. But looking at this man, he seemed to be a nice person, she couldn't judge though because he hardly spoke to anyone and he had barely said a word to her since they came in here, perhaps he was lost in his own thoughts just like she was. She wondered how he felt about everything, was he happy about all this or was he cursing himself just like she was. The smell of the food reached her nostrils and she remembered that she hadn't eaten anything since the morning. She was so busy cursing herself and her ill-fate that she forgot to eat. But food would have to wait because they were called almost immediately to the dance floor, it was time for their dance!
Since the wedding started, this was the first time she had been this close to this man, she could literally feel his breath on her skin and it gave her goose bumps when was this dance going to end?! apparently, not anytime soon. "you could at least open your eyes, everyone's watching" the voice spoke. wait was that Liam's voice? she opened her eyes slowly starting with the right one, to see two pairs of emerald blue eyes staring back at her. His were the most beautiful eyes she had seen and for a minute there she was completely mesmerized. She had to stay away from those eyes or she could get lost in them..... the dance continued and after a while, it ended earning the couple a round of applause from the audience, they quickly went to take their seats.
The next stop was the dinner table. All the members of both families gathered around the huge table adorned with different delicious and mouth watering dishes, just looking at the food could make you drool. she was starving but she couldn't just dig in right away as courtesy demands she waited for everyone to be seated before eating. When they were all sitted, her father, king Williams raised a toast, "to this alliance" he said "cheers!!" they all chorused.
