Her wedding ended quickly and before she knew it, she was getting on the carriage to take her to her new house, the place she'd stay from now on. But before all that, she had some goodbyes to do. She hugged her mother tightly as they both cried, they didn't say a word but they knew what was in their hearts and they just let their tears take over. Then it was her dad's turn. He didn't really cry like the women, he just gave her a pat on the back. Then it was Elijah's turn and finally, Karen's. She hugged her so tightly as this would be the last she'll be seeing this woman for a long time, this same woman who had loved her and took care of her even more than her own mom did. It really broke her heart to be separated from her. "ahem!!" her father coughed and she pulled away, reluctantly. She took one last look at her family and her home before stepping into the Carriage. She was going to another place now, another kingdom entirely.
They had journeyed for hours and hours till she lost count and finally fell asleep. She woke up to see that it was already morning, almost midday if she wasn't mistaken as the sun had already risen high in the sky. She looked beside her and her eyes fell on him, his face looked even more beautiful when he was asleep, she felt like touching him but as she raised her hands, he suddenly opened his eyes and she pulled away quickly, a little late though because he had already seen her. "what were you trying to do?" he asked, startling her. "me? nothing.i wasn't trying to do anything. I just thought that.. nothing, nothing at all" she blabbered. She was so ashamed of herself for blabbering on and on like that. He chuckled and leaned his head backwards, closing his eyes, "we're almost there, just a couple more grounds to cover." how could he be so composed all the time and she, she just embarrassed herself like that. She wondered what sort of first impression he had of her now. She just looked the other way and closed her eyes as well, but she wasn't sleeping this time.
They got to the palace by midday. The palace looked extremely beautiful. It was well sculptured and had this ancient look. It was really nice. They were received by the royal family, king Arthur, Liam's father, queen Astrid, Liam's step mother, prince Levi, Liam's step brother and his wife, princess Sophia. They all wore bright smiles as they welcomed the new Couple. She replied their warm smiles and thanked them for their hospitality. Liam on the other hand, didn't seem to care as he just left to his quarters without so much as even a word! "don't mind him Amelia, I'm sure he's just tired from the journey." king Arthur said and patted her back in a reassuring manner when he noticed the poor girl felt somewhat uncomfortable with her husband's behavior. "Sophia please take Amelia to her room. she needs some rest." "yes father." she replied and flashed the younger princess a kind smile.
They walked through the halls for some time, chatting like long friends. She didn't know why she instantly clicked with princess Sophia and who wouldn't? she was the sweetest soul she had ever met after Karen, that is. Maybe it's because she never had a real friend as her parents wouldn't let her out of the palace, but now, she finally found a friend, someone she could talk to that wasn't Karen! After walking for some time, they arrived at her supposed bedroom. Sophia hugged her and said "don't worry, just come to me anytime you need to talk to someone okay, and just between the both of us, I'm also in need of a friend" we both laughed then she winked at walked away.
She opened the door to find it a bit dark. She gulped and entered closing the door gently behind her. She surveyed her surroundings, it felt a bit eerie and weird. There were bottles of Alcohol on the tables, clothes hung around casually and the room looked totally unkempt. As soon as he noticed her presence he quickly stood up and surveyed the room, "you don't have to stay here if you don't want to. I'll get the servants get the other room ready for you." He said and left. Where he went off to, she didn't know, he was probably going to get the other room ready like he said. She didn't want to go to any other room, he was her husband now and this is their marital bedroom. why would she leave? and with that thought, she started clearing up the room.
She had already finished when two handmaids, Keisha and Freya entered. "my lady I'm Keisha and this is Freya. we're your new handmaids", the red haired one spoke. She was the more outspoken of the two but Freya on the other hand, hardly spoke but was really pretty, she had long blond hair which was neatly packed with cute bangs that matched her eyes perfectly. Amelia wondered why a pretty girl like her was a maid in a palace. "thanks girls, It'd love a warm bath please." They stared blankly at me, "your highness, you don't have to say please to us." Freya said shyly. Amelia wasn't surprised at what they said. We live in a society where servants are considered as nothing but useless objects, as rags that weren't meant to be respected but abused, they weren't meant to have lives of their own but to obey and follow all of their master's orders. But she didn't treat her maids this way, she treated Karen nicely and it's going to be the same for these two young ladies. "why can't I say please to you? as from now on, the both of you aren't going to be my maids but my friends okay?" she said smiling brightly at them, rendering both ladies dumbfounded. However they smiled back at the princess and she knew that with time, they'll losen up around her.
Keisha and Freya had done a really nice job taking care of her, they prepared a warm bath for her, helped her change into something more comfortable and treated her to some nice delicacies. It was already getting late now and her husband was yet to return. And just when she was about to go look for him, he entered the door, staggering as he came in, she couldn't believe the state he was in "what happened to you" she asked still in shock. "you! why are you still here?" he asked and without waiting for a reply, he rushed towards her making the princess lose her balance and fall back on the bed.He came really close to her, his face just inches away. He reeked of alcohol and as he looked at her, she could feel his blue eyes peering through her soul. He looked so dangerous now and nothing like the calm guy he portrayed to be at the wedding. "get off of me, where have you been and why do you reek of alcohol?" she asked but he didn't answer her. "you tend to ask questions alot don't you princess!, now I'll teach you how to keep your mouth shut." he said and before she knew what was going on, he slammed his lips on hers, enveloping her in a kiss. Her eyes widened and she struggled to free herself from his clutches. She finally broke free, sweating and panting, she stood up quickly, glaring at him, "what is wrong with you Liam? how dare you do this to me? what insolence is this!!" she yelled but he didn't reply. She touched him to find him already sleeping. she sighed and went out of the room.
