It was a nice morning and the entire royal family were having breakfast together, everyone except Liam. Amelia couldn't understand why he always excluded himself from his family but she didn't ask. "my dear, how is the food?" king Arthur asked, noticing her countenance. "it's really good your majesty". she replied quickly. "why are you calling me that? I'm no less than your father now so you are to call me dad okay?" "yes your highness, I mean yes father.".... breakfast went well and Sophia showed her all around the castle. It was really nice. The rooms were extremely beautiful, it had a really large stable and her favorite place, the beautiful garden.
After her little adventure with Sophia around the palace, she strolled black to her room to find the door a jar, Liam was up and he was just leaving. He looked at her for a brief moment and turned to leave
"Liam wait! don't you think you owe me an apology for the way you behaved last night?" she asked getting a bit angry that he didn't even apologize. He shot her a deadly stare and rushed towards her pinning her on the wall and holding her neck, "look here woman! I'm your husband now and you live under my roof so as long as you live here, you have to follow my rules and let me tell you one thing, I don't apologize to anyone, not you, not nobody. Do you get that?" He asked his eyes peering through her soul. She suddenly felt scared, just looking at those dangerous eyes could send shivers down anyone's spine. "Liam you are hurting me, leave my neck." she begged struggling to breathe. He finally pulled away, "next time don't cross your boundaries, princess" he told and left immediately. She fell to the floor as her whole body shook. What kind of monster did her father get her married to? she observed herself in the mirror, gently rubbing the mark he had given her when he held her neck. She was sure something was bothering him, maybe he was just stressed out or maybe he hated her for coming into his life, either way, she was going to give him space from now on.
"Amelia! Amelia where are you?" Sophia's voice echoed as she searched for her friend through the really large halls. Over the past three days since Amelia came to the palace, they've been inseparable. They'll often chat for hours and hours, c***k jokes and laugh. They were like sisters. "I'm over here Sophia!" Amelia called out. She was on the swing in the garden, just having some alone time. "hey girl, what's wrong? why are you staying here alone when you're supposed to be spending time with your favorite girl?" Sophia asked. "nothing's wrong Sophia, I'm just a bit worried about Liam. Since we got married, we don't live like husband and wife, we hardly talk to each other and he doesn't even stay in the same room as me. I really don't know what to do." "don't worry, maybe he's just worried about something. everything will be fine. you two were married against your consents, so maybe he's just trying to adjust to his new life." Sophia reassured her friend even though she knew what she said wasn't entirely true.
Ever since Sophia got married into this family, she noticed Liam always distanced himself from the rest of the family members. He blamed queen Astrid, the king's second wife For the death of his mother and for destroying his life, because of that, he vowed to never have anything to do with the family. But she couldn't tell her friend all that, she was just getting used to her new life and she didn't want to complicate things any further. She needed to talk to the king though, maybe he could talk some sense into his son.
One day, two days, three days.... and just like that, a week had passed since princess Amelia got married. the family members were nice and everything was great, except for Liam's behavior. She was getting used to it though, the late night partying, the heavy drinking, the insolent behavior, his rules, the staying out all night, even his mistresses, everything! at least she still had Sophia, it couldn't get any worse, or at least that's what she thought!.
Later that day, king Arthur had called princess Amelia to talk to her after having a talk session with Sophia about the "pressing issue" which was Liam's reckless behavior. "You called father?" she asked as she entered the room. "yes dear, "I wanted to talk to you about something,"... he started..."you see, it's been brought to my notice that Liam doesn't treat you well and he doesn't seem to respect your bond as husband and wife. it hasn't always been like this though, he was originally a really nice and sweet little boy but after his mother's demise, he became something else. He always blamed Astrid for the death of his mother, he saw her as the one that ruined his life and hated her and her son, levi completely. I tried everything I could to help them get along but everything I did make Liam hate Astrid and Levi more, so I just left him but it's getting out of hand. I didn't think he'd pour out all his frustration on you and treat you like this, I'll have to talk to him soon". After his explanation, she couldn't believe her ears, so this was why Liam always secluded himself from the rest of the family members. At least she knew now, but she wanted to know how queen Astrid ruined Liam's life, she wanted to know more but she didn't want to seem nosy so she just let it slide.
After that talk session with her father in law, she started to see Liam in a new light, he wasn't bad or anything, he was just an insecure child who missed his mother alot. she'd try to make him feel better from now on, She thought.
********************
She stood outside on the balcony overlooking the vast garden, and letting the wind blow through her hair, the past one week had been really tedious for her, from her wedding to her husband's behavior and everything, she just needed a break and standing out here just feeling the wind felt really nice. Just by the corner of her eye, she saw something that caught her interest, some soldiers were having a sword practice. since she got married, she hadn't had a chance to do that and looking at those men, she knew they were very talented. But there was one, the dark haired one, he seemed really good. she would be really good if she had a teacher like that! "Hey princess!" a familiar voice called, it seemed like Liam was home now. she quickly rushed to see why he was calling her. "yes?, why were you..." the words stuck in her throat as she saw his bloody state, he glared at her and pinned her to the wall, holding both her hands to prevent her from running away. "so you little princess had the nerve to tell my father all about me huh! answer me!!" he yelled. "I wasn't the one that told him" she said trying to defend herself. "lies!!, look here wife! let me tell you this, how I live my life and what I do doesn't concern you okay? so mind your business" he yelled anger radiating through him. He was about leaving when she spoke, "and what if I tell him? don't I have the right to inquire about your life? I'm your wife for goodness sake. I know you didn't consent to this marriage and neither did I, but I've been trying my best to make it work, I've been trying my best not to upset you but you know what, I don't care anymore!! Go to hell for all I care!!" she didn't know where all that came from but it felt good to let it all out. He gave her a menacing look that said, "you'll pay dearly for that."
