I led Jace inside, pulling him by the arm. When we got there, drinks were passed around and one of my favourite songs were playing. I started to sway my hips to the music, drink in hand. After I finished the drink, I took Jace's hands and started to dance. He twirled me around and ended up pressing my back against his chest. I decided I would have some extra fun when I started to grind my hips around, arms in the air. I could hear a groan coming from Jace's lips. I laughed; I was going to have fun teasing him all night.
After the song finished and I had another drink, I turned to face Jace. He was taller than me, by a lot and I could smell the lust and arousal from him. I had to remind myself I only met him yesterday. A new song came on, and I started to dance. I moved to the side, around Jace's shoulder and glanced at the kitchen behind him. There was a girl backed up against the wall with a guy hovering over her. She looked scared. I frowned, and pushed passed Jace, looking confused to why I stop dancing. As I walked closer to the couple in the kitchen, he the guy started to force himself on her.
"No, Luke. Stop." She said frightened. But he continued leaning over, putting a hand up her leg. By this time, she was struggling to get out of his hold. All I saw was red, all I felt was rage. I stomped over and ripped him from the wall by his collar and dragged him outside. I shoved him on the ground before he could open his mouth.
"What do you think you’re doing? No, means no." I growled. He groaned before he got up, the stench of alcohol reached my nose.
"Whatever. She wanted me to." He scoffed. He was tall, but not as tall as Jace. I heard a few people rush outside behind me. I moved to see the young girl he was harassing, tears in her eyes.
"Did you say no?" I questioned her, she nodded in response. "Did you want him to stop?" I asked again.
"Yes." She whispered, hugging herself.
"Liar!" He raged and took a step toward her. Then I snapped. I walked up to him and kicked him in the knee, sending him to the ground. I then pulled his shirt in my fist and punched him in the face. This was fun. Blood sprayed out of his mouth before I knocked him back. I then got on the ground leaned over his face.
"Never do that again. And never let me see your face, or I'll rearrange it for you, again." I spat. He tried to grab my arm with his claws, but I growled deeply and looked into his eyes. He started to squirm under my gaze. He then sat up, supporting his face as if it would fall to pieces.
"Good thing I didn't, she's nothing but a-" But before he could finish, I lunged forward. Reese grabbed my waist, dragging me back.
"I'm fine! I'm fine!" I spat, wriggling out of his grip. Reese nodded hesitantly, slowly letting me go and I dusted the invisible dust off my dress.
Why the hell was I wearing a dress? I hate dresses.
Reese got distracted, scanning the area for Esme as I spun around to face the i***t who doesn't understand the meaning of no. I grabbed his shoulder as I punched him in the jaw. I thrived off the pain in my knuckles as I lifted for another hit. A hand took mine and an arm wrapped around my hips, lifting me away from the guy on the ground.
Warm sparks shot down my body. I tried to ignore it as best I could, but I thrashed and thrashed. Kicking my legs, screaming.
"Let me go you bastard! The prick deserved it!" I screamed.
"I'm sure he did." He whispered comfortingly in my ear. I quieted down but still struggled in his hold.
"Someone help me! This crazy b***h just attacked me. She a psycho." The wolf stared at Aiden, asking the beta for help. But he stood there, disgust plastered on his face as he held Sophie. I gripped Jace's forearms, tugging at them to let go. But before I could even step forward, a horrible snarl erupted.
"Do not talk to your Luna that way." He demanded, his voice rough and loud. I turned and pushed at his chest to let go of me. I glared at him; I could handle my own fights. I slowly turned around and made my way to the piece of s**t on the ground.
"Get out of my sight, you rapist." I spat. He looked at me in shock. His Luna just attacked him, and for a good reason. Then, somehow in my wicked mind, I smiled at him. Sweetly and innocently. He looked horrified.
The wolf got up, still staring and ran off of the property. I got up, dusted my dressed and frowned at my shoes. They had blood on them. I turned around, a smile of my face and walked past an angry Jace, shocked Mike and confused Reese. I stalked my way to the steps of the house and found the girl sitting on the stairs, hugging her knees. I slowly put an arm around her and smiled.
"Did you know him?" I asked quietly. She looked up at me and fell into my arms.
"Yeah, he wouldn't leave me alone." She sobbed, shaking in fear. I told her that she was safe, and if that ever happened to her again, or that guy, Luke, showed his face, I would erase it from this Earth. She laughed and desperately thanked me. Her name was Megan, she just turned 17 and she had beautiful brown hair with brown eyes. I gave her my number before a friend took her home.
"Anna, what were you doing?" He grumbled lowly. It reminded me of the time when I was 7 when he caught me sneaking out of the house, trying to visit the small stream.
"That f*****g r****t nearly found his next victim, I was handling it." I said simply. He huffed out a sigh of understanding and stepped forward to engulf me in a hug. I instantly felt relaxed, the tension from my shoulders rolling away. Esme was soon at his side, calming him down. I was thankful he had her as a mate. I then made my way to Michael straight away.
"I'm so sorry Mike, you just got in my way." I started, hugging, him. "And I'm sorry for Jace forcing you to leave school."
"It's okay, it was my fault, I shouldn't have done it. And you were about to kill the guy." He laughed before he made his way back to the party, like I almost did. Almost.
"What the f**k Anna!" Jace started. I stopped right in my tracks, frozen. I forgot he addressed me as his Luna. I ever so slowly, carefully turned around to see Jace at the bottom of the stairs, eyes fading from black to teal. I happily stepped down the steps and on the last one, I jumped onto his body. He caught me in a bear-hug. I put my arms around his neck and wrapped my legs around his waist.
"You called me your Luna." I whispered. He was taken aback by my recent action, completely frozen in place. Then I put my chin on the top of his shoulder.
"Do you want me?" I asked sadly, glad he couldn't see my face. Big strong, muscly arms enclosed around my back.
"Of course, I do? Why would you say that?" He murmured into my neck. I turned my head into his neck and took in his scent. It was calming and exciting at the same time. I started to brush my lips on his neck. He shivered. I moved his shirt to see a wicked pattern of black ink on his collar bones and shoulders. I grazed my teeth along them, he let out a growl of approval, gripping my thighs. My body started to rapidly heat up.
"Your still a prick." I quickly replied to his growl. He laughed into my hair.
"You really are crazy. I don't know what you’re going to do next." He laughed. I put my forehead to his, staring into his eyes.
I brushed my lips against his. "You ruined it." I whispered, smiling. I jumped out of his embrace and headed back to the party.
----
"I need another drink." I said determinedly as I stepped through the door. I made my way to the kitchen to find Katie with more drinks. I went up too her and she handed me a can of beer. I took a big mouthful before the can was ripped from my grip.
"No you don't." He said, taking a drink from my can. I huffed in annoyance and went out to the backyard. Only to be followed. I saw Izzy with Sophie, Aiden, Mike, Reese and Esme. I walked up to the group and took Izzy's drink and started drinking it. She didn't seem to mind; she was too busy trying not to throw up. I started talking to Reese, figuring out how to sneak back into the house. Jace lingered behind me, trying to talk to Izzy. We were interrupted when the group of she-wolves from school walked down the steps of the backyard to stalk over to us. They were all dressed in tube tops and impossibly short denim shorts. The blonde one from when I met Jace stalked over to him. That b***h. She flipped her hair back over her shoulder while completely ignoring Izzy. She went straight for Jace. But before she could even say a word, I pushed our way through our small gathering and went to Jace's side. I leaned back onto his chest and left shoulder, right in front of the blonde wolf.
"Go away." I smiled sweetly. She looked down on me, like I was the most irrelevant thing in the world.
"Why?" She asked in her high-pitched, stuck up voice.
"Because he's my mate." I stated. I don't care if I was being possessive or jealous, he was mine. I was also highly intoxicated.
She looked at me and then glanced at Jace, surprised. She quickly hid it as she stepped forward.
"Mates can always be rejected." She leaned back, probably feeling like she won. I stood there for a solid second before I felt Jace put down his drink and straighten. He knew what was coming. But before he could catch me, I lurched forward, snarling. How dare she suggest rejection to my mate.
"Bitch." I said in an inhuman voice. Keelie was fuming, clawing to get out, so I let her. I jumped on the blonde b***h in front of me. Her hair was probably fake anyway, no more of a reason not to keep it. I slammed her onto the ground and punched her in the face. She tried to roll on top of me, but I had the upper hand. I growled at her to submit, but she just stared at me in terror. I was superior, I was basically her Luna, a royal female wolf. I lifted my fist, but someone unfortunately pulled me away. Why was everyone interrupting me.
"Anna, calm down." Jace said. Did he just tell me to calm down? When this excuse of a wolf suggested him rejecting me? Did he even care? Probably not. I got up and thrashed at him to get away. He let go and staggered back. My eyes started to sting. I pushed him again. Slamming a hand into his pectoral. It didn't seem to do anything, but when I looked into his pretty eyes, they were full of pain.
"You dickhead! She just basically told you to reject me for her sorry ass, and you tell me to calm down? What is wrong with you? Are you f****d in the head, or did you lie? You really don't want me?" I screamed at him. He was silent in shock.
"Well? That's all you have to say?" I screeched, everyone around us went silent, even the stupid b***h on the ground.
"As if." I scoffed as I turned for the house. There was a pain in my chest, like my ribs were cracking, lungs drowning in icy fire that could end the world. I stumbled into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of rum. I wandered into the room where the music was the loudest.
I strolled over to the two big speakers and turned them up to the max. I screwed off the cap of the rum bottle and downed a shot. It felt just like the burn in my chest. I started to dance to the music, jumping up and down with the people around me. I swayed my hips around without a care. If Jace didn't want me, I might as well waste the night away in pain. I stopped to take another scull of rum. The burn and bitter taste helped with the pain. I started to dance again when I saw Jace in front of me. I gave him an evil smile as I turned to dance. This feeling of euphoria was epic. He put an arm around my shoulder and turned me towards the door, he pushed me out the front door, hand on my back. I twirled and jumped down each step still dancing. I must be pretty drunk. I took another swig of the bottle before it was rudely snatched from my hand. I looked to the source to find Jace staring at me, bewildered.
"Give it back Jace." I whined, acting like nothing happened, that there was not an aching pain that started to sink to my stomach. I was going to be sick.
"You know that I want you Anna. How could you say that? You can't let Lucy get to you, she's nothing to me." He practically yelled.
"How could you be so stupid! Thinking I don't feel for you. You are my mate for f**k sake. You make me so frustrated that I-" He yelled, on and on. I ripped the bottle from his hand and cracked it on the stone wall next to us. Amber liquid fell from the broken bottle. What a waste. I moved so fast, even Jace couldn't stop me. I grabbed his shirt with my left hand, and with the other, I angled the sharp, shattered bottle to his neck.
"You didn't do anything, you just stood there telling me to calm down. Do you know what it feels like for some random chick to try to take what’s yours? It hurts, hurts right here!" I slammed my hand right above his heart. I threw the cracked bottle to the grass. I started to pace, hands running through my hair. Tears threatening to break through, burning my eyes. I refuse to cry. Still pacing, I let out a strangled sob. A pair of arms wrapped around me, crushing me into a solid body. I let out a sob of relief as the pain and hurt suddenly stopped. He pulled back, looking into my soul, absolute agony in his eyes.
"It does hurt Anna. I feel it too." His voice was at a low whisper. "I'm sorry." I just stared at him. He suddenly leaned in closer to my lips, hesitating. I waited but he was fighting with his wolf.
"I swear to the Goddess you bastard, if you don't-" I didn't need to say anymore before his lips crashed onto mine. They were so soft as roughly kissing my lips. He growled at the contact and I opened my mouth for him as his tongue slipped in. I let out a moan and he gripped my ass as I reached my toes to be closer. It was hot and possessive. Claiming and full of lust and desire. We finally pulled apart when we ran out of breath.
"I didn't do anything." He started. "Because I was trying to stop my wolf from ripping Lucy apart." He admitted. I put my head onto his chest, listening to his pulsing heart.
I whispered back. "You're still a prick."
He snickered, it was a deep, rough sound. He also laughed at my arousal from just the sound of him. He held my hand as I picked up the rest of the bottle that somehow didn't crack when I tossed it to the ground. When we reached the steps to outside, he pulled me by my hips to stand in front of him. Laughing, I waved the cracked bottle around his face. We walked outside to our group to see a gathering of she-wolves standing next to them. Esme was sending them dirty looks and Mike growling at them. I laughed, drawing their attention to us.
"I made them stay." Jace muttered, nipping my ear with his canines. I squired in his hold. I looked at Lucy and her group of she-wolves. Maybe Lucy was short for Lucifer. She stood there, shooting daggers at me and Jace.
"Leave." I said simply, staring at their pathetic group. They didn't move. Why would no on listen to me when I spoke? So, I slammed the other half of the cracked bottle at their feet, sending shards of glass everywhere. They all jumped.
"I said leave." Keelie snarled. They all scrambled, Lucy lingering. I laughed joining the group. Jace hugged me from behind.
"Getting comfortable now, are we?" I heard Reese ask, a smug look on his face. Esme hit him in the chest before I could reply.
"What!" He whispered, smiling.
"Leave her alone." She grumbled.
"Thanks Esme." I chuckled as the group got new drinks and started talking. I turned around in Jace's hold to face him, staring into those uniquely, odd blue-green eyes.
"You have pretty eyeballs." I blurted out before I could stop myself. He rolled his eyes, trying to hide his smirk, his face a little red. I just stared into them. They were so beautiful that I got lost in them, literally.
"You have pretty eyes." I told him. He laughed.
"You already said that." He said, grinning like a madman.
"Oops." I replied, turning to walk to Izzy, but the ground started moving. Jace caught me arms before I fell.
"You drink too much." He said frowning. Izzy started to laugh uncontrollably and I joined her.
"How am I supposed to sneak her back. She won't stop laughing and Mum will smell the alcohol a mile away." Reese said, also frowning.
"She can stay with me." Jace shrugged. Me. Staying with Jace, in his house.
"Sleeeepover!" Izzy dragged out after laughing.
"Okay. It's late, I'll just tell Mum she is staying with Izzy." He said nodding, talking about Evie.
"Okay, thanks." Jace said, bro-hugging Reese.
"Hey! He's my brother! Not yours." I grumbled. Reese started to laugh as he hugged me.
"Have fun." He said as he turned to Jace. Then he left with Esme. Mike left to get a lift with Aiden and Sophie and then I found Katie.
"Hey bitch." I smiled as she slowly made her way over to me and Izzy.
"Hey babe." She smiled back.
"I'm absolutely pissed." I slurred, rubbing my hands over my face.
"Same, I'm completely hammered." She replied. I offered to help her clean up, but she laughed it off, saying she would get her brothers to do it. Fair enough.
After I hugged Katie goodbye and to thank her for the invite. Jace walked me and Izzy to his car. A dark grey, almost black, Mercedes Benz.
"Sick." I dragged out. Izzy sat in the passenger seat and I leaned across the 3 seats in the back. 10 minutes later, even though it felt like 5, we pulled to a stop. I pulled out my phone and groaned. It was about 1am. Izzy opened her door, muttering goodnight as she talked to the front door and swung it open. I stayed laying down in the car. I didn't care if I stayed here. The car door opened, and strong arms slipped under my shoulders. Jace picked me up and carried me bridal style through the front door.
"I can walk." I mumbled, trying to get out of hold. He put me down and guided me to the stairs. I walked about 5 steps up before I slumped on the railing. I heard Jace chuckle at my swearing as he picked me up again. He got to a door and set me down. He opened it and motioned for me to walk in. It was his room; his scent was all over it. I walked up to the large bed and flopped on top of it. I realised I was still wearing my uncomfortable clothes and bloody shoes. I chucked my shoes off and dizzily stood up, trying to pull off this stupid tube dress. I didn't care if Jace saw, he would have sooner or later. He chuckled, helping me slip out of the impossibly tight dress. How did I even get this on? His eyes lingered up and down my body, eyes darkening at my scars from that rouge 10 years ago. I didn't mind. I had tucked my bra straps under, so I pulled them back up over my shoulders. Then I turned to the bed and flopped onto it. I don't care if I'm half naked in Jace's presence, I was way too drunk. He was my mate anyway. I heard shuffling and I rolled over to see Jace walk out of his closet, only skin-tight boxers and his shirt. He turned to take off his shirt and my eyes widened at the rest of the wicked tattoo he had on his back. Swirls of black ink trickled down the blades of his shoulders, ending in the middle of his toned, muscled back. He turned, sensing my starting. The tattoo continued down his pectorals and onto the top of his ribs. My eyes unconscionably went lower and lower. My mouth dried. But I quickly looked up to see him smirking. Loving the hazed stare I gave him. He went to put a shirt on before I stopped him.
"No." I found myself saying, oblivious to the words coming out of my mouth. "Leave it off." He did my bidding and stalked over to me. I rolled flat on my back as he slipped under the covers. It was quite cold, I realised. I then forced myself to wriggle under the blankets, engulfed by his warmth. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me to his chest. I cringed, thinking about how he would discover the weird ways I sleep, or the fact that I even can't.
"What's wrong?" He asked confused, sensing my wince.
"Nothing, it's okay." I slurred. "I don't even sleep." I admitted. He shifted himself to look into my eyes.
"Pretty eyes." I muttered, tracing the outline of his eyes, his brows. He was devastatingly handsome to the point where my stomach flipped and fluttered. He ignored my actions like it was normal, like I did it often. He caught my hands and fingers that started to trace his lips. Too far. I rolled my eyes in annoyance for him stopping me and he chuckled. I huffed as I faced him.
"I don't sleep. I can't. That's why I sleep at school." I admitted, frowning.
"Why?" He asked calmly.
"I don't know." I lied. He smiled and then took me into his arms once again.
"Let's see about that." He said quietly. He put his head under my chin, on the base of my neck and chest, wrapping his arms in an overprotective hold. The last thing I saw before darkness claimed me was his onyx black hair, sprawled across my chest. The last thing I felt was the warm sparks all over my body and the calming, slow breaths of Jace in his sleep.
