The Party

The next day I wasn't awoken by Reese, or Kai, but that's because it was 4 in the morning and I couldn't sleep. I picked it up my phone and checked the date. It was the 18th of February. That's right! It was Danny's birthday! I posted some silly photos of us all over social media, even though it was so early in the morning. After that, I pulled out my laptop to watch some Netflix. It was an hour later when I heard the door across from my room open and close. I shut my laptop and ran out of bed and into the hallway. I saw Reese, making his way outside. "Where are you going?" I asked. He turned around, surprise. "I was going for a run, wanna join?" He replied. "Yes please." I groaned. I ran back to my room and chucked on a red singlet and black bike pants. I grabbed random shoes and met Reese at the front door. We walked to the side of the house and he showed me a path that led all around the property. I ran with him all the way around the property, until we were about behind the house. We were talking about school, where I went for the past ten years, even what he did the last ten years. But he did not dare to mention Jace. "What were you doing up anyway?" He asked, not even puffed from running.  "I couldn't sleep." I simply replied. That was true, I've never been able to sleep well at night and it has gotten worse over the years. I fell asleep around 7pm and woke up at 4 hours later. Then I fell asleep and woke up at 2am, to then fall asleep and wake up again at 4am. I didn't even bother by then. He thought it was a suitable answer. "I'll race you back." He taunted. "Okay then." I stopped mid-sentence. "Just so you know, your going to lose." I smirked. He then bolted out of the trees, heading for the house on the path back. I just stood there, waiting until he was out of sight. I then stripped and shifted into my wolf. He didn't say I couldn't shift, he also didn't say I could take a short-cut. I picked up my clothes and raced for the back of the house. I sprinted to the side of the house, then shifted back. Once I put on my clothes, I stalked to the front of the house. I sat on the stone wall, cleaning my nails, they got a bit dirty. 5 minutes passed and Reese came into view. "That's not fair." He grumbled. I chucked my head back and had a laughing fit. "You didn't exactly explain the rules." I replied, still laughing. "Whatever." He muttered, unable to hide his small smile. "What's wrong, sad you got beaten by your twin sister, or by a girl." I tried to fake pout. He gave me mocking glance as he practically stomped into the house. Still laughing, I made it to the kitchen to see Evie, Rowan and Kai. Kai jumped off of Rowan's lap and ran to Reese. He picked him up and let him climb onto his shoulders. I walked up next to him and poked my tongue at Kai. He returned it this time. I laughed and took him from Reese.  "What's wrong with you." Rowan asked Reese. Bad mistake. I started to roar with uncontrollable laughter. This is going to be fun. "He's salty because I beat him back to the house this morning." I tried to say in between laughs. "You cheated!" He yelled. "You didn't tell me I couldn't shift." I countered. He rolled his eyes, but that just made me laugh more. After breakfast, I went to my room to have a shower and get ready for school. I took my time, shaving my legs, washing my hair, singing to music. I looked out my window to see grey clouds. I decided on light- coloured ripped jeans and a dark blue cropped long-sleeved shirt. I changed my belly piercing to a dark blue one, because it was quite visible, and my nose ring to match my outfit. I chucked on dark blue converse and stalked downstairs with my bag. I found Kai on my way and picked him up in my arms. I unfortunately had to leave him home when I got to the car to go to school. We made it, half an hour to spare, so I rang Danny up to say Happy Birthday.  "ANNA! I missed you so much!" Danny rejoiced when he answered the phone. "I missed you too! And Happy Birthday." I giggled.  "Oh yes, there is that." He laughed. We then talked about the photos I posted, and how he looked ugly in them. I thought he looked handsome.  We then talked for 10 minutes about school, my family, his family and what he got for his birthday. A new dark blue Porsche. He went on and on about the car, talking about things I didn't understand. God, I missed him so much. I can't wait for him to visit. I don't think I can ever leave this down again to be honest. He was talking about the party they were throwing tonight, I missed those parties a lot, when we were rudely interrupted. A warm, hard body pressed against my back. I gasped at the tingles and whirled around to see Jace. He was in a tight dark grey long-sleeved shirt, pushed back to his elbows. He wore black jeans and black Vans. At least he had a taste for branded shoes. I put my hand to cover the speaker of my phone and faced him. "Who are you talking to?" He asked curiously, head tilted to the side. His hair fell onto his shoulder, he looked ridiculously hot. "None of your business." I stated loudly and turned around to apologise to Danny, but before I could, an arm wrapped around my waist and took my phone. He held it above his head, Danny still on the phone.  "Give it back!" I argued. But he only held it higher. An evil smile crept onto his face. "Not until you tell me who it is."  Fine, if he was going to be that way. I tried to jump to get my phone, but he was monstrously taller then me. Everyone was. I punched him in the stomach, but he only groaned and bent over, still holding my phone out of reach. He could of just read the name on the caller ID to see who it was, but he wanted to play around. So, I tried a different way. If he was going to muck around, I would bite back. Harder.  I slowly walked up to him and wrapped my arms around his waist. I could feel all of his muscles under his shirt. But before I could get distracted, I reached up on my toes and brushed my cheek against his. He completely froze and then after a few seconds, started to nuzzle my cheek, feeling his stubble prick at my skin. He put his arms around my body, still holding my phone. But I decided to be a tease. I then started to kiss at his jaw, forcing him to let out a deep growl. I took the distraction to my advantage, even though it was really hard to pull away from him, I spun around and snatched my phone from his hand. "Little minx." He grumbled under his breath, completely shocked from what had just happened. I could still feel tingles on my body from his skin. I turned around to continue our call. "Anna?" I heard him say into the phone. "Sorry Danny, I just got interrupted by some prick." I put an emphasis on prick as I turned to face Jace. He stood there, smirking at me. I laughed because I was about to rip that smile off his pretty face.  "Well Daniel." I started and I saw Jace's face drop. "I hope you have a great birthday and-" I tried to finish, but the bastard kept interrupting. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me into his chest. "Who's Daniel?" He asked with a dangerous growl. I could feel the vibrations from his chest I groaned and pulled away. "Sorry Danny, I was trying to piss of my ma-" But before I could stop myself, I knew I already f****d up. Jace's face was glistening with amusement when Danny exploded my phone with questions. I gave him the finger before turning around. "What? Your mate? When did you meet him?" Danny asked excitedly. Little did Jace know, Danny was strictly my best friend.  "I unfortunately met him at school. After I found my family. He's a real pain in my ass." I said, trying to sound annoyed. But it all disappeared when I heard Jace chuckling. I turned around and couldn't help but smile a little. I laughed when Danny tried to mock my accent. It quickly disappeared when the bell rang for first period.  "Sorry Daniel, I have to go to class." I complained. "It's okay, we'll talk later. By De-" He tried to use my full name. "Don't you dare!" I growled quietly, trying to stop him before Jace heard. Danny laughed through the phone. "Happy birthday Dan, I love you." I finally said. "Okay babe, love you too." He said happily as he hung up. I've never said that to him before, but I'm glad I did. I turned to grab my bag, then I saw an angry, dangerous looking Jace. Ugh, now I have to deal with him. "Who was he?" Jace asked coldly. "My best friend Danny, chill." I said as I tried to walk through the glass door. But Jace snaked an arm around my waist and pulled me back.  "That was an interesting way to get your phone back." He whispered near my ear. I visibly swallowed. "I did what had to be done." I said, turning around in his arms, leaning on his rock-hard chest. "Can you do it again?" He said while smiling down at me. I reached onto my toes and gripping onto his arms as I said, "Maybe. It depends." Then I turned around to stalk out the door. He didn't let go of my arm as he walked beside me. We made it too my classroom before he turned me around. "What was he going to call you before he hung up?" Oh s**t. Why couldn't just forget. "Nothing." I said as I reached my toes to kiss his jaw. Maybe that will make him forget. ---- First period was History and the only person I knew in that class was Katie. So we spent the whole lesson getting to know each other. Turns out, Katie is more like a wild child. She likes to dress up and go party. I could honestly say that I agreed. She also had this sick arm tattoo. Turns out, she's Michael's cousin and she likes piercings just as much as I do. I show her the few tattoos I had. My pack tattoo on my collar bone, snaking it's way down my arm and I told her about the tattoo that went all the way up my spine. I still had more. I enjoyed her company, but it was soon over when the bell rang for second period.  I had French next, and I was excited to sleep. I walked in to see Aiden sitting at the end of the long table. He was talking to Jace. Perfect, just perfect. An empty chair sat next to Jace's, but next to it was Izzy and Sophie. I'm glad I had a lot of classes with them. I rolled my eyes and stalked slowly to the empty chair and planted myself in it. I leaned back onto my chair and swung my legs on Jace's lap with a mocking smile that I didn't lean on him. I closed my eyes and as class started and almost instantly fell asleep. Halfway through the lesson, someone tapped on my shoulder. It was Izzy. "Aiden wants to swap with me." She stated sweetly, but I found myself rolling my eyes. The desk was a long table with five chairs on it. And there wasn't much room. Aiden laughed as he got up to sit in Izzy's seat. I bet Jace planned this. I shot daggers into his eyes. "Wasn't my fault." He pleaded. Now where was I supposed to sleep, it was cold. I glanced to Jace who was smirking, but not for long as I tried to sit back on Aiden's shoulder. Tried. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me forward, a threatening look in his eyes. "I despise you." I nodded in his face as I turned to lean on him. I put my back onto the side of his warm torso and my head on his shoulder. I shivered, mostly because of the warm tingles. He laughed and put an arm around me. "Liar." He whispered into my ear. After a few minutes, I heard him softly growl, causing me to open my eyes. A few people sat in front of us, staring. They quickly turned around and I rolled my eyes at his protectiveness. I fell asleep not long after that until the end of the lesson. The bell rang and I got up to walk to the door. But I was stopped, not by Jace this time, but the teacher. "I see you've bored yourself to sleep in my class, Miss Archer." Jace grinned at me before waiting near the wall on the outside of the classroom. I rolled my eyes and turned to answer her. "I'm sorry, but learning about a language you already understand is quite boring." I said as politely as I could. She c****d her head to the side, intrigued.  "I was born somewhere in Europe, I was never told. I've also lived there when I was 11. For a year and a half." I explained further.  "Interesting. But please, try not to fall asleep in my class again." She said sweetly. I smiled and nodded before I walked out the door to be stopped once again. That was getting annoying. Jace leaned against the wall, pulled me into his arms, making me lean on him. "I didn't know you were so well rehearsed in languages." He said smiling. "Surprised?" "Impressed." He answered. I rolled my eyes but he turned me to press me against the wall, his body towering over me. "Your such a tease." He whispered, eyes flashing black. You could practically smell the desire seeping out of him. So I pushed at his chest and he stepped back a little. "So what if I am?" I asked as innocently as I could and I pulled away to start walking down the hall. "It's frustrating me." He admitted in a deep voice. "Not my fault." I winked. He groaned in annoyance at my response. It was quite funny.  I sauntered into the cafeteria, next to Jace and stalked to the table where everyone usually sat. Katie was sitting next to Sophie, who was on Aiden's lap, talking. I went and sat next to her, straddling the seat.  "Hey, you promised to show me your ink." I reminded her. During History, she promised to show me the rest of her body piercings and tattoos. "Only if you show me yours." She grinned. "Me first." she stated. Like me, Katie liked to party, smoke and drink. She showed me the design on her abdomen, a pattern of dark, looming trees. She also had a flock of ravens tattooed on her rib cage, under her chest. "Same." I grinned, lifting up my shirt to reveal the murder of crows inked on my under boob. Jace quickly snatched my wrist, making me drop my shirt as he snarled softly. Now it was my turn. Most people have already left the table because their classes where at different times. And all the other pack tables were empty. This was about to get personal, but I didn't mind sharing with these people. There was only Aiden, Sophie, Izzy, Katie and Jace and I at our table. I braced myself. My pack tattoo was of the Archeron symbol of vines and leaves snaking up from above my elbow to my collar bone. I turned to face Jace, still straddling the seat and held onto his knees as I told Katie to lift my shirt. "That's wicked." She whispered in shock, tracing the waning moon cycle tattooed from the top of my tail bone, to the top of my spine. I knew she and the others saw the scars from the rouge on the left side of my back, and I'm thankful that they ignored it.  Jace didn't. He looked deeply into my eyes before I turned to face Katie.  "When did you get it done?" She asked. I leaned into the solid chest of Jace behind me. He instinctively snaked him arms about my waist. I could feel his arms underneath my cropped shirt. I chose to ignore it before my body could react. "16. Well 15 and a half, don't tell anyone though, I got it done illegally." I basically whispered. Aaron would kill me.  He thought I got it at 16. "That's funny, me too." She said, pointing to her rib cage. I joined in on her laughter. We started talking about plans for the weekend. "Hey guys, I'm throwing another party at my house. You don't need to bring drinks, everything's sorted."  "Oh, I'm definitely coming." I shot straight up.  "Hope you can handle your alcohol." "You have no idea." I smiled smugly. Everyone started chatting excitedly. I turned my head into Jace's neck when Katie started talking to Sophie. "Your coming too." I whispered.  "Okay." He murmured. This was going to be so fun. ---- News got around that there was a party at Katie's that after school.  "Are you going to Katie's party tonight?" I asked Reese once we got into the car. "Yeah, wouldn't miss it." He laughed. As soon as I got home, Reese told Evie we were going to Katie's. The party starts around 5pm and we were going to pick up Izzy and Esme, so I jumped into the shower. I shaved every bit of my body and washed my hair. After my long, hot shower I walked over to my closet. I decided on a black tube dress with converse shoes. I curled my long hair and put on a little mascara. I didn't care that much for makeup. I chucked over a leather jacket to match, but I was going to take it off anyway, this was just to hide from Aaron. After I was ready I knocked on Reese's door. He wore a grey long-sleeved shirt that rolled up to his elbows. He wore dark blue jeans and Adidas shoes. He looked very handsome.  "Nice." I said, elbowing him as he chuckled. We practically ran down stairs to escape Evie and Rowan.  I sat in the car singing out the lyrics of every song until we reached Esme's house. She wore black ripped jeans and a blue cropped shirt to match her eyes. She looked absolutely gorgeous. Then we made our way to pick up Izzy, which was 10 minutes away. We pulled into a lavish driveway to the Alpha house, Jace's house. It was similar to ours, but only bigger. Izzy stepped outside and she was wearing a tight singlet and blue jeans. "Jace and Aiden are already there. They went to help Sophie and Katie set up." She explained once she got into the car. We then made our way to Katie's house, music blasting. It didn't tale too long to get there, and when we did, the party had already some what started. I shrugged off my jacket and left it in the car, then I walked into the house to be greeted by Katie. "Heyyy." She dragged out. "You made it!" She was wearing a dress similar to mine, but with fish-net stockings and combat boots.  "Of course I did." I said smiling, as she shoved a drink in my hand. I quickly drank it as we made out way to where the music was.  "The music's s**t. Katie spat, frowning. "I can help with that." I replied. She led me up to where the speakers were and I searched up one of my playlists that had all the best party songs. Katie constantly thanked me for my good taste in music. She led me outside, back to Izzy and where most of the pack were. As soon as I arrived, drinks were shoved into my hand. I wasn't complaining.  I was talking to Sophie when someone came up behind me. Warm sparks starting shooting out from the contact. Jace. I sculled the rest of my drink before turning around. A pair of teal eyes met my dark grey ones.  "Hello, pretty eyes." I blurted out. He scoffed at my comment. "Hello." Jace pulled back and he looked me up and down, eyes darkening. This was going to be fun. I took the drink out of his hands and sculled the rest of it.  "Let's go dance." I said, pulling him inside.
