_Kieran’s POV_ The sun had barely risen when the doctor came to find me. My head throbbed from lack of sleep, and my chest still felt tight from the fight with Annalisa. I hadn’t slept all night. I couldn’t. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Katherine lying in that hospital bed. She looked so pale and still. “Alpha Kieran,” the doctor said gently, “she is out of danger.” My breath caught in my throat. I looked up at him. I was not sure I had heard him right. “She is… what?” “She is stable now,” he said with a small smile. “Her vitals are improving. The transfusion worked.” Relief washed over me like a wave.
