CHAPTER FORTY THREE

“This way!” Ian said to Elena.

The gunshots continues and the men are still chasing them, terrified by the event Elena just nod and let to lead the way. She is trying so hard not to burden Ian as they trying to escape even her mind is starting to be in pain as she saw a vivid visual again.

Her heart is beating fast that its like it would going out of her rib cage and her knees are wobbling. Their run end up them in the parking area.

Ian didn’t waste anymore time and dragged Elena to a honda civic painted with matte grey car, and motion her to go inside, as Ian fired his gun from time to time to the men that is chasing them.

As soon as they both hailed the car, and maneuver it into a maximum speed, Elena felt her breath hitch by how fast their car is.

She bend down as she heard a gunshot hit their car, but it didn’t create or even break the glass of the car their riding.

“This car is bulletproof and design when something like this is happening.” Ian explained like he read what question is what Elena was about to ask.

Elena tightly gripped on her seat as Ian continued to speed the car, “sorry for this Elena, but we must get away with them until the back up arrives.”

Elena nod for she understands what Ian meant, and started to mumble a prayer to keep them safe. And to those innocent that they dragged because of the chase.

After a while they heard a siren coming from the police car who is now chasing them too.

“Double s**t!” she heard Ian cussed.

They look at the rear mirror and from there they saw police cars are chasing them as well that made Elena more terrified.

Worriedly she looked to Ian, “what are we gonna do now?”

Elena saw Ian, took a mini device in the dash board and started to said something over there, and the next thing she knew the police cars are backing down from chasing them, but what making her screamed is when she heard a loud explosion from their behind.

Elena gasped, when she saw that it was a police car that exploded, and then she saw the car that was chasing them appeared.

But, she gasped again when she saw it explode a well.

“The back ups did that.” Ian informed to Elena.

Elena didn’t say anything from what Ian informed, but she withdraw a relieve sigh out of her chest, and that’s where she felt her head throbbed in pain and every went black.

Mr. Vaughn was facing back and fort as he wait Ian and Elena to arrive, it was a short notice to realize that the building where Elena was staying has been hacked by a unknown person, resulting a security breach, thankfully one of the security personel inside the building was able to tick Ian off.

Ian had able to reported him before they left the penthouse, and promised him to send back ups for them.

Mr. Vaughn halted from his backing and fort when the main door opened, revealing Ian that carrying the unconscious Elena in his are that alerted him.

“What happened to Elena!?” he asked.

Ian bowed his head before he replied, “nothing sir, she seems got shocked by what happened and fell unconscious on our way here.”

“okay, but first call Dr. Monte. We still need to checked Elena.” Mr. Vaughn said.

Ian obediently did what he said, and left him with Elena. He felt his anger rose as he stared at Elena’s tired face.

Up until now, he don’t know who are those people that barged in the building, but he has a hunch, though he’s not sure yet, but he already have people investigating who is the person behind of it.

Its just a few weeks since Elena function again after Dana died and he seen it. Honestly, before Dana disappeared after Raffy took her, Dana sent a message to him telling him that Raffy is alive and was creating a group of men again, she also told him that she would continue to watch Raffy discreetly but Dana was captured.

That’s why when he saw Dana being captured he sent his men to search for the girl, but they came late. Even before they was able to find Dana, she died. Ian just reported it to him that the girl went to Elena and died after.

It sadden him, because the autopsy said as they took the girl’s body, it says that she had beaten and stab once at her stomach, and she had a few broken bones, but still she was able to where Elena is.

He can’t imagine how Raffy did it to his own daughter, and how great Dana’s determination, that he salute about the kid.

His thoughts were cut when he saw Elena moved and eventually slowly opened her eyes.

“Are you okay?” he asked as soon as Elena completely opened her eyes.

“Hmm.” Elena responded with nod, but flinched when she recall what happened.

“What happened? Some bad guys are chasing us.” Elena confusingly said.

Elena bulge to where she was lying, and roam her eyes to her surrounding. Mr. Vaughn went closer to Elena and motion her to calm down.

“Your fine, relax. Those men aren’t here.” Mr. Vaughn said.

“What happened? Why are they chasing us and who are they?” Elena asked to Mr. Vaughn as soon as she calmed down.

Mr. Vaughn was about to open his mouth to speak when the main door of the mansion opened, revealing Dr. Monte with Ian in his back.

Mr. Vaughn sigh and turn his gaze to Elena, “be check with Dr. Monte first and I will tell you after, okay?”

Elena was about to complain, but stopped immediately and nod from what Mr. Vaughn had told her. “Okay.”

“Great!” Mr. Vaughn said before turning his gaze to Dr. Monte and nod.

Mr. Vaughn signaled Ian to come with him, that made Elena followed them with her gaze as she saw them entering a big wooden door not too far from where she was.

“Shall we start?” Dr. Monte asked that made her turn towards the doctor.

Their check up goes well and she was told that she was just shocked that’s why she lost her consciousness, and was good that Lena didn’t come out that time, or else something might happened, but the truth is she was stopping Lena for coming out for she didn’t know what could possibly happened is Lena would come out in that kind of situation.
