CHAPTER FIFTY FOUR

Ms. Estrella uneasily pacing back and fort to the living room while whispering prayer for Mr. Vaughn and his men and also for Elena whom is now in Raffy’s hands.  She’s praying for the protection and the succession of saving Elena.

“Eleanor relax, everything will be fine. They will be able to save Elena, let’s us trust to Mr. Vaughn and Ian, okay?” Dr. Monte said, whom watching Ms. Estrella’s for a while now.

Ms. Estrella turn to face him and give him a small smile and nod, but the worry in her eyes is still visible.

Dr. Monte stood up from where is he seated went closer to Ms. Estrella and took her hand and smiled reassuringly, even honestly he is also worried for what could possibly happen, but he can’t express that also. Eleanor needs him specially in this kind of situation that she is worriedly sick for the safety of Elena and to those who came to save her and to Mr. Vaughn.

“Here drink this, so you can relax a bit.” He said handing Ms. Estrella a glass of water.

They both stayed at the living room, waiting Mr. Vaughn and his men together with Elena to arrive. Each minute had passed gave them a unknown uneasiness, no one is opening conversation between them, they just spend their time holding each other’s side as they both uttered a prayer.

After hours of waiting, they both stood up from their seat when they heard a vehicle arrived. They hurriedly went outside to see who is it.

They saw a van that has a broken glass, multiple gun shot holes and blood stains, that made Ms. Estrella gasped.

“I-I-Is it t-them?” He heard Eleanor asked stuttering.

Still her eyes is on the van, waiting whoever the person inside of it to come out. Each second that passed is like a minute to them.

As the van’s door opened and Elena come out, Ms. Estrella didn’t waste time and run to Elena and embraced her tightly, she didn’t notice that Elena is jacket and shirt is covered with blood and she is not Elena, for what Ms. Estrella care now now is Elena is home safe and sound.

“You brat, you do really like to made me worried!” Ms. Estrella said.

Ms. Estrella has a teary eyes because of joy for Elena’s arrival, and embrace Elena more tight. She just let Elena go when she notice that Elena isn’t responding.

She gawked when a cold pair of orbs greeted her as she stare at Elena, and from that she finally realize that it is Lena who are in the outside, and as soon as she lowered her eyes, she gasped as it has blood.

Ms. Estrella felt her, knees wobbled by the sight as she look back on Lena’s face, who just gave her unusual smile, for it isn’t mischievous, instead it is look so sad.

Ms. Estrella gasped more while Dr. Monte stilled when Lena signaled the man who just come out on the driver seat and took the bodies out of the van.

Dr. Monte immediately catch Ms. Estrella who began to passed out due to extreme shock infront of her eyes.  

Worried, Dr. Monte checked Ms. Estrella’s vitals, before she took her inside, leaving Lena outside, watching them going inside like nothing happened, before she also passed out.

“Miss!” the man she is with called her in surprise.

That’s what Dr. Monte had witness as he went back outside, “Elena!”

Dr. Monte called Elena multiple times, and just notice that she is already pale. Full of worry, he took Elena inside the mansion as well, before he told the Mr. Vaughn’s man take care of the men’s body fist, without knowing yet, that Mr. Vaugh and Ian was one of the bodies the man took out first.

With rush Dr. Monte took Elena to her room, and started to check Elena’s condition, when he held Elena’s shoulder and stilled when he felt that shoulder is wet and when he rose his hands he saw blood in his hands.

Dr. Monte didn’t waste anytime and inspect it and again he halt when he saw a gunshot wound on Elena’s shoulder as her blood dripping out her body. Luckily he had his emergency medical kit with him, but its inside his car.

He first put a pressure on Elena’s shoulder to stop it from bleeding, before he went outside to get his things, and get back to where Elena is.

His movement was fast, as he removed the bullet, from Elena’s shoulder. He may be a psychiatrist but he was able to perform in a emergency operation like this, when he went to Afghanistan for a medical mission 

The bullet that hit Elena as deep, but he’s thankful that, it didn’t hit her veins there. He thinks that Elena’s body was moved by Lena even she is already shot, and he’s sure that Lena endure it extremely even she doesn’t expresses her emotions.

After the operation, Dr. Monte heave a heavy sigh as he completely see Elena’s state. Bruises on her jaw and cut o her lip was there and its already colored in violet, and as for her dress it has lot of blood and its already stinks.

He called a female house helper to change Elena’s dress that has blood into a clean clothes. Before he left her and went to see Ms. Estrella in her room.

He was on his way to Ms. Estrella when he saw her walking to the hallway, and in no time he hurried to where she is.

“You shouldn’t have get up yet.” He said worriedly, ‘are you know okay? How are you feeling?”

“I’m fine now,” she replied. “How about Elena? Where is she?”

Dr. Monte escort, Ms. Estrella to where Elena is. As they entered Elena’s room, the house helper had already finished cleaning and change Elena’s clothes.

Dr. Monte thanked the house helper before it left leaving the three of them alone in the room.

“What happened?” Ms. Estrella asked as she sat at the side of Elena’s bed.

“She was shot but I already removed the bullet out of her shoulder, and I had called my friend to deliver a blood that has the same type with Elena to give to Elena.” He explained.

Ms. Estrella, reach Elena’s face as a tear escape from her eyes. She can’t bare to see Elena’s like this, it pains her to see Elena’s state right know.

Dr. Monte went to caress Ms. Estrella’s back to calm her down as she continue to wept, while whispering her a reassuring word that Elena will be fine.

“How about Mr. Vaughn and the guys?” Ms. Estrella asked after she calmed down.

“I didn’t saw him with Elena, a while ago and I’m on my way to check him, my friend doctor had already arrived and he was already outside treating the wounded guys.” He explained that earned a nod from Ms. Estrella.

Ms. Estrella was about to speak when the door opened, revealing a man, that she thinks the friend that Dr. Monte was talking about.

“Harris. “ the man said as he entered the room.

“Noah, thanks you for coming here, did you got what I’ve asked you?” Dr. Monte asked after he went to shake hands with the man named Noah.

“By the way, this is Noah, he is a surgeon and this Eleanor, the woman, I have told you about.” Dr. Monte introduced to each other.

“Nice to meet you. Harris had told me a lot about you, and he is one lucky man.” Dr. Noah said.

“Nice to meet you too.” Ms. Estrella responded and gave Dr. Noah a small smile.

After the introduction, Dr. Noah, came to whispered something to Dr. Monte that made the doctor stilled but, excused himself saying he needs to checked something outside, but he asked Dr. Noah to transfused the blood to Elena, before he left.

“What happened outside?” Ms. Estrella curiously asked as she watch Dr. Noah beginning the blood transfusion procedure.

“Just asked Harris, but there are many dead men outside, that’s why Harris went to checked who are those who died.” Dr. Noah replied.

Ms. Estrella felt her body trembled from the news, but she got a hold of herself before it ate her, and stared at Elena.

Just what kind of event happened back there where Elena was rescued? And she clearly saw Lena’s personality was out from Elena awhile ago before she lost consciousness.

 After some time, after Dr. Noah, finished from transfusing the blood to Elena, he assured her that Elena is now safe, before he left to follow Dr. Monte outside.

She didn’t left the room and stayed with Elena, like what Harris told her before he left. She didn’t notice that she fell asleep, and when she opened her eyes again its already morning.

Ms. Estrella checked to see if Elena was really there and she isn’t imagining and she realize that it is true as soon as she rose her head and find Elena lying on her bed.

A relief sigh made its way to her lungs, as she saw Elena. She was about to stood up when she heard the door opened.

She saw Dr. Monte entering the room, with a tired and sadness mirrored on his face. Ms. Estrella hurriedly went to meet Dr. Monte with a worried gaze.

“What happened? How is it?” She asked.

A very deep and heavy sigh came out from  Dr. Monte before he answered Ms. Estrella. “Many men had died, we tried everything to save them but its already late.”

“W-What about Mr. Vaughn and Ian? Have you seen them?” Ms. Estrella asked again.

Another a very deep heavy sigh came out from Dr. Monte before he nod, “Mr. Vaughn and Ian was one of those who died.”

 “They had been shot in almost all their body.” Dr. Monte spilled.

Ms. Estrella didn’t say a word after what Dr. Monte said, she just turned her gaze to Elena, who was still unconscious. The fist thing that came out of her mind was Elena. What will she going to react once she will woke up and find what happened to her grandpa and Ian.

“I already took care of their bodies for their funeral. I hope Elena would be able to overcome this.” Dr. Monte stated worriedly behind he back.

Two days had passed but Elena doesn’t woke up yet. They are waiting to Elena to wake they will proceed on Mr. Vaughn’s funeral, for now Mr. Vaughn’s body was in the cold facilitate to preserve his body.
