CHAPTER FORTY SEVEN

Its been five minutes since Elena left to go the ladies room, and he already finished his ice cream. The whole time Ian is staring at the hall way where Elena disappeared even when he is eating his ice cream.

Ian decided to wait for Elena for another two minutes, but the two minutes ended fast but Elena didn’t comeback that made him stood up and hurriedly went to the ladies room, to checked her.

He thought that something might happened to Elena inside like she got stuck inside the cubicle, or something girl thingy.

He rushed inside the ladies room but he found it empty, that made a kick of nervousness entered his system.

“Elena!?” He called from the ladies room door, but there is no response.

“s**t!” He cussed.

He decide to barged in the bathroom to check the cubicle one by one while calling Elena, but he already checked it all but he Elena’s is nowhere in their.

Ian frustratedly crumple his hair, and went out side to check Elena to the car, but he also found none.

“Argh!” he groan in frustration.

“Where are you Elena? Please don’t do this to me.” Ian pleaded in the air.

Ian went to the nearby park, and everywhere near the establishment to find to Elena but, he can’t. He just halted when his phone ringed.

Gasping for air because of non-stop searching Elena for Elena, he took his phone out of his pocket and froze when he saw that it was Mr. Vaughn.

“Where are you, you two? What took you so long, I saw that you took Elena with you.” Mr. Vaughn said as soon as he took the call.

Ian released a frustrated sigh, before answering, “I’m sorry sir, but Elena escaped.”

“What?! What do you mean?!” Mr. Vaughn asked in a thunderous voice that can almost brake his earpiece because its extremely loud

“We were eating ice cream when Elena told me that she’ll just go to the ladies room, but after 7 minutes had passed but she didn’t show up.” Ian explained with a mixed of disappointment and guilt in his voice.

He heard an annoyed sigh coming from Mr. Vaughn to the other line. He knows that Mr. Vaughn is now furious and honestly he is afraid to face him now.

“Comeback here this instant.” Mr. Vaughn just said coldly again, and hang up.

Ian took one last glance on his surrounding, hoping that he will see Elena somewhere, but his shoulder only fell in defeat and decided to go to the Ice cream parlor’s parking lot, where his car is.

Ian hailed in his car and lean weakly on his steering wheel and get up and punch his steering will to let his frustration, worriedness and disappointment out, and turn his gaze to the passenger seat where Elena was seating this morning.

His brows frown when he saw a piece of neatly folded paper clipped on a very little space on the car window.

Ian immediately took it without a thought and unfold it, and halted when he where it came from.

Dear Grandpa, Aunt Elle, Big Brother Ian and Dr. Harris,

I’m sorry to leave like this without you guys knowing specially you, big brother Ian, I am deeply sorry for using you as my escape goat, but I need to do this, and please grandpa if you will reading this, don’t punished Ian for he did nothing wrong.

All the nights, that I see and watch you dying infront on my eyes, made me anxious and for I know if I will not going to make a move, that dreamed will happened, like what happened to Dana.

You were always their beside me, taking care of me and protecting me and that’s what I’m always grateful, but just this time let me protect you guys. I am already tired to be a coward who were always depending on you, even though you guys had been harmed by my alter personality also.

I’m really sorry, I really do, but this is my fight, and I can’t you guys to harmed again, or if that happen I will never ever able to forgive myself.

Again I’m sorry and I love you guys.         Elena.

Mr. Vaughn felt his head aches as soon as he finished the letter that Elena wrote that Ian gave to him. A while ago he had punched Ian out of his anger for letting Elena to get away without his knowing.

“W-What happened?” Ms. Estrella asked, “where is E-Elena?”

Mr. Vaughn gave the letter that Elena left, and read it. Ms. Estrella collapse to the floor, while clenching her chest with the paper that contains the message.

“Elena do you really like to make me worried? You brat!” She exclaimed.

Ian face palm by the sight of the two adults. Mr. Vaughn fist his hand and turn his gaze towards Ian, who looks like really disappointed.

“Pull back the half of our men searching for Raffy and find Elena as soon as possible, and don’t disappoint me this time!” Mr. Vaughn command coldly.

Mr. Vaughn left the room, full of coldness in his aura. Ian turn his gaze to Ms. Estrella who is now standing up, but sobbing.

“Are you okay?” He asked as he assist her to the nearest couch.

“Yeah, I was just shocked.” Ms. Estrella replied.

Ian, rushed to the nearest mini fridge inside the office, and took a bottle of water and give it to Ms. Estrella.

“Thank you, Ian.” Ms. Estrella said as she took it.

After she drink the water, and totally calmed down, she stared at Ian who looks tired and stress. His face also mirrored self disappointment that made her feel sorry for him.

She slightly smiled on him that made Ian surprise by her smile..

“Aren’t you mad at me for losing Elena?” Ian curiously asked.

“I am, but I trust Elena, I am just afraid towards her decision, and if you don’t mind. Find Elena and change her mind.” Ms. Estrella said.

“That kid has a strong willed, and I know that she will do what she said to her message, that is why I’m asking you to convince Elena not to do it.” She pleaded.

Ian nod, “I will, and I will do anything to change her mind.”

“Thank you, Ian, thank you for caring for Elena.” Ms. Estrella gratefully said.

“Elena is a little sister for me.” Ian replied again and this time he gave Ms. Estrella a small smile.

After their conversation, they both left the office. Ms. Estrella going to Dr. Monte’s clinic and Ian to do what Mr. Vaughn commanded to him.

Elena is now on her biological parents grave, she just also visited her foster parents just a while ago, she was apologizing for them for making them worry and also asked for guidance. She stayed at her foster parents for a while to bond with them as well and tell them stories.

And now she was seating on a grass beside the hill tomb of her biological parents.

“Mom, Dad. I’m here again. How are you guys?” Elena said caressing the grass of the tomb.

“I’m sorry. You must disappointed to me for escaping from grandpa.” She said.

“I know I am making you all worried, but what can I do? I can’t risk them to be endanger again. Raffy wanted me and that’s the only thing I can think to keep them safe.”

A strong breeze hit her face as if the wind is nagging at her, that made Elena smile sadly.

“I know Mom, Dad. I know, but please give your trust to me this time okay?” She said savoring the strong wind that she know that it is her parents.

After she said that, she felt the breeze that was hitting her became soft, and she smiled, “Thanks Mom, thanks Dad.”

Elena also told her parents how  Mr. Vaughn find her, how he treat her, his stories about them, and how he missed them specially Selena her mom, how she see Mr. Vaughn stared at her Mom’s picture inside his wallet that she witness last time.

She spend her whole after noon there and left after watching the sunset. She was already near at the cemetery exit, when she halted after seeing the familiar men in black taking the path towards where her parents are lying.

She immediately hide at the tall grasses at the side of the path to prevent them from seeing her.

“Search the whole area Miss Elena might here somewhere!” the other men in black commanded.

Elena step sideways to hide herself more when she saw the other one is getting closer, but she flinch and closed her eyes when she accidentally step on a dry leaves that created a crack sound out of it.

Shit, s**t, s**t! She cursed inside her head when the men in black who was just standing a few meter from where she is hiding, and turn his gaze to where she is, and starting to step closer that made her heart beating erratically because of extreme nervousness.

“Please, don’t come closer, please!” she uttered in plead as the man went more closer.

As the them man become closer and closer Elena, can’t do anything but to hold her breath and crumpled down behind the grass where she was hiding, as well as her heart continue to race.

Elena can now hear the man’s footsteps, and her breath hitch when she heard it stop.

“Mike, is anything there? Let’s go there’s nothing here!” the man’s shouted from a far to the man named Mike.

“I’m coming!” Mike shouted back and she saw him took a one last glance and leave.

Elena, release a relief heavy sigh, as soon as the men go away, she thought that she will be caught, well that’s close! She thought as she wiped a cold sweat on her forehead because of nervousness before she went out to where is she hiding, while scratching her arms because she feel itchiness before she continue to take the path towards the exit.

The sky is getting darker as the time goes by that she walking towards the bus stop, her stomach is starting to grumble because the only thing she last eaten was the ice cream with Ian.

“Let’s eat after we find somewhere we can settle for a while.” Elena spoke to her stomach.

But its already dark but there is no bus stopping at the designated bus stop. That made Elena hissed. She is hungry like crazy but she is in the secluded area beside the highway and the house are still few meters away from where she at.

She was about to start to walk because there is no busses stopping, when a vehicle stopped infront of her that made her froze by thinking that she must be caught.

She started to feel nervous and her breath hitch when the black rover’s door opened and it feels like a slow motion. She never removed her eye on the door until the person who come out in it revealed.

“Shi—” She was about to cussed but she stopped herself and breath in relief.

“Hey!” Elle said as she completely hailed out of the car with a frown.
