CHAPTER FORTY SIX

The days run fast and Mr. Vaughn’s men hasn’t capture nor found where Raffy is, that made Mr. Vaughn annoyed at the same time worried about Elena.

Just like what Ms. Estrella feared, Elena’s nightmares become more frequent and Dr. Monte told them that it consist his and Ms. Estrella’s death with her biological parents death.

Elena became anxious, and the medicine that Dr. Monte told Elena to take isn’t effecting, and even Lena appeared on time and stayed the whole day outside after Elena had a nightmare.

Lena told them, that what happened to her and with Dana’s death had been great impact to Elena’s state. Lena even told them fool to just let Elena being like this, and nearly took the life of one of his men because of so much furious, and he can say that Lena’s personality was just like the oldest Mirabello, which is Elena’s great grandfather, who was known for being hot tempered, ruthless and merciless when it comes to his enemies.

“How is she?” He asked to Ms. Estrella who was just come out from Elena’s room.

“She is okay now, you can check her.” Ms. Estrella replied with a gentle smile.

“Okay, thank you Eleanor.” He said.

“No need to thank me, Mr. Vaughn. I love Elena like my daughter so I will be here for her always.” Ms. Estrella replied with a gentle smile that made Mr. Vaugh nod and smile also.

After that short conversation, Mr. Vaughn entered Elena’s room, where he saw her holding a book that is about human anatomy according to the book cover.

“How are you feeling?” he asked to Elena that made her gaze set on her grandpa from her book that she is reading.

“I’m good.” Elena replied while putting her book on her lap.

“That’s great to hear.” Mr. Vaughn said giving Elena a gentle smile.

“By the way, do have anything you want to do?” He asked.

He thought that Elena might get bored staying at the mansion, that might affect Elena. She had staying here for weeks now and the only person she can see from the outside is her teachers. 

Elena had her home lessons again, for Elena’s safety will might be at risks if she will continue to come outside, specially that her men can’t still find where Raffy is hiding.

“I wanna go buy some ice cream if you would allow.” Elena requested.

Mr. Vaughn slightly stilled on Elena’s request, for its still dangerous for her to go outside.

“Can’t we just go ask Ian to buy your ice cream? Its still not safe to go outside.” He said, convincing Elena to change her mind.

“Okay.” Elena answered.

She can’t help to voice out sulking for her plan of going outside didn’t succeed. She can’t defy her grandpa if she wanted to escape. She must did her escape when the time that her grandpa nor the men in black knowing.

Throughout the days that her nightmares started to haunted her again, and Lena coming outside because she failed hindering her going outside, she realize that she must move faster to avoid what the deaths that she saw in her dreams happened.

Mr. Vaughn nod, and give Elena a gentle smile that made her bite her lip out of guilt for what is she about to do.

After that like what Mr. Vaughn said, he called Ian to asked him to buy Elena’s ice cream, which is Ian knew what was it for he had been with Elena at the penthouse, and he was able to find out what is her favorites.

Mr. Vaughn left her room after that, and with that she hurriedly follow Ian who was about to hop on the car, but halted when she called him.

“Ian, wait!” she called while hurriedly run towards Ian.

Ian brows knotted when she got closer to him while she was gasping for air after running to follow him.

“Elena, you should’ve run like that, you could tripped.” Ian said worried, “do you need anything?”

Elena nod and asked. “Can I go with you?”

“You can’t, its too dangerous for you to go outside.” Ian declined.

“But, I have you to protect me, so I’m sure I will be safe.” Elena said, convincing Ian to take her with him.

Elena gave look at Ian with puppy eyes that she is sure that he would impossible to resist, “Please!”

Ian sigh at the sight of Elena’s puppy eyes, for whenever Elena did that he can’t able to resist this stubborn lady infront of him.

“Fine, just keep staying beside me okay?” Ian said, that made Elena smiled for Ian can’t really resist her. She knows that her puppy eyes is his weakness.

“Thank you.” She said when Ian opened the door for her.

“I’ll be dead for this.” Ian exclaimed while shaking his head that made Elena chuckle.

Through out the travel, Elena can feel her heart beating so fast, and there is something that telling her not to do what is she planning to do, but she is fighting it, by thinking that this is for her love ones sake. She don’t want to hide to them and endanger them, and now there is no turning back specially that she is now finally sneak out, thought her guilt is eating her for using Ian, but this is the only way she can think.

As they arrived at her favorite Ice cream parlor, Elena acting excitedly to went in. As they entered the shop, the sweet scent of the atmosphere filled her nostrils, that made her mouth water.

“Come on! Goodness I miss this!” she exclaimed.

She excitedly pulled Ian who chuckled because of her being hyper, and let Elena pulled him until they reach the counter where different variants are there that they can clearly see in the glass chest fridge.

“Choose now, we need to get back before Mr. Vaughn notice that you are gone.” Ian told to Elena that made her lip twitch, and nod quietly.

Elena choose her favorite ice cream which is the strawberry flavor with strawberry bits in it, and chocolate syrup at the top, while Ian choose a coffee crumble, which she noticed that his favorite whenever she will asked him to buy her ice cream, Ian will also grab himself that flavor.

“Let’s just eat our order on our way.” Ian said as soon as the crew give their orders.

Elena shake her indicating that she refused by what Ian told to her. “Can’t we eat this for a bit, the ice cream always thawed fast in the car, and I don’t want that.”

She knows that she sound like a brat right now for doing this, but she still can’t find a chance to escape on Ian, and dining here could possibly buy her a time to think how, for from what she had known, Ian is too sharped when it comes in guarding.

“Please, just a little bit longer, and I will finish this ice cream in no time.” Elena said.

Ian can’t do anything but to sigh in surrender and led Elena to the vacant table he saw to the corner.

Their in the middle of their ice cream eating when Elena broke the silence between them.

“Do you have any news about Raffy?” Elena asked curiously, that made Ian gaze towards her.

“Why are you asking?” He asked.

Elena simply shrugged her shoulder, “ I was just curious. He had been in my nightmares, and he is killing you guys infront of me.”

Elena sigh after she told that to Ian, and Ian eyed her with pity, for the past few days he saw how Elena isolates herself to her room. Gone the cheerful Elena he met and stayed with in the penthouse. Thankfully her doctor never gave up on her.

Elena is like his little sister who needs to be taken care of that’s why he can’t help to be weak at her whenever she will asked something, and even now that she is acting stubbornly.

“That was just a dreamed that can’t happen.” He told Elena, but Elena shake her head.

“It can, and some of those are real like the dead bodies I dreamed off a few months ago.” Elena stated.

Ian, gawk at what Elena had said for a second and smiled at her, “then I will assure you that this time, your bad dreams will plainly stayed as a dream for we will protect you and the other, and of course that includes me!”

Elena nod with a smile, and continue her ice cream. Yes, I agree that my dreamed of seeing you guys death will be stayed as a dream, for she wont allow seeing that again, specially in the reality, she thought.

Thinking about that, the reluctant that she is feeling awhile ago disappeared, and that made her mind set what she will do.

Her ice cream is nearly finished when she saw rose her head again to Ian who is still eating as well. She cleared her throat to get Ian’s attention.

“Yes?” Ian asked while his spoon still on his mouth.

“I’ll just go to the ladies room for a minute.” She said pointing to where is the ladies room.

Ian nod, “Okay, don’t take too long we need to go home.”

She nod and smile, “Okay!”

She felt her heart beat fast as soon as she stood up to her seat, as she took the path towards the ladies room.

A single tear escape to her eyes that she immediately wiped as soon as she change her direction, that instead of going to the ladies room she hid at the corner near the fire exit that others using as a entrance and exit shortcut towards the parking lot.

She hurriedly leave the establishment with a heavy heart, and guilt to the people who was there for her, but she can’t let Raffy to harm them anymore, and if Raffy wants her then she will go and find him.

“You fool!” an angry voice suddenly said on her mind that made her halt, that she immediately shove on her mind.

“You said, you want a revenge? Then you can finally have it.” She said on her mind that is pertaining to Lena.

She saw a bunch of people on the park nearby the ice cream parlor and rushed through it to prevent Ian to find her, she knows that Ian must be know that she is already missing, and she can’t bare to be captured again or else her plan will fail.

“I’m sorry Grandpa, Aunt Elle, Dr. Monte and Ian, but I need to do this alone.”
