CHAPTER FORTY FIVE

Elena woke up, and saw that it was already getting dark outside when she looked at the window. She didn’t notice that she had slept for long hours, after her grandpa left her.

Slowly she decided to get up on her bed and was about to put her feet on the floor when the door where is now, opened revealing her Aunt Elle with a tray of her favorite lasagna it.

“I thought you will be starving ones you woke up.” Her Aunt Elle stated and was about to close the door behind her when a deafening sound of a gunshot echoed in the whole room.

Elena froze as her eye widen from where is she seating, when she saw a blood slowly coming out from her Aunt Elle’s mouth, and in a slow motion, her Aunt fell on the ground together with the tray she was holding that is now scattered with the blood that is now flowing to the floor coming from her Aunt Elle’s body.

Elena felt her surrounding stops as she stared at her Aunt Elle’s body on the ground. She felt suffocated and the same time trembling in horror.

A sound of a footsteps coming from outside her room door, caught her attention. Her breath hitch when she saw who is there.

It was Raffy who is standing with her wearing a smirk yet his eyes staring at her with so much anger. He has a gun on his hand.

“I told you I will make your life miserable for taking all your  love once.” Raffy said then chuckled when he saw Elena’s horrified face.

Raffy was approaching her closely and halted when they heard someone shouting outside her room, that made Elena’s balled more.

“No!” she shouted, when she saw Raffy pointing his gun to the owner of the voice outside her room.

“Grandpa! No!” Elena shout desperately but, it was late.

She saw Raffy fired his gun to his grandpa whom she can finally see from where she is. Her surrounding stopped again as she saw the whole on her grandpa’s forehead, as he slowly collapse in the ground with his eye wide open.

Elena, felt her surrounding deaf as a feedback sounds started to ring on her ears as she shout on top of her lungs.

“No!!!”

“No!!!”

“No!!—”

A hard shake on her body with a worried female voice woke up Elena.

She was gasping for air as soon as her consciousness came back from her reality as if she haven’t breath for a long time, and with than she burst out crying.

She just begin to became aware when someone caress her back gently that made her face to that person.

Hey eye widen when she saw who was caressing her back, “A-Aunt Elle!”

Elena quickly, embrace her Aunt Elle as if she was afraid that her Aunt Elle will disappear any moment.

“D-Don’t ever d-die nor l-leave me a-again, A-Aunt Elle please!” Elena pleaded in between her sobbed.

They Elena busy hugging her Aunt Elle that she didn’t notice that her grandpa was also there. And when Elena noticed him, she also hugged him tightly like she did to Ms. Estrella while also plead not to die or leave her.

Mr. Vaughn and Ms. Estrella both promise that they will do what Elena pleaded to them, to calm her.

Mr. Vaughn and Ms. Estrella was about to come in on the room where Elena is, when they heard her moaning that made them approached her and there, they saw her having a bullet sweat on her forehead as she had a nightmare.

Elena keep on mumbling no while gasping for air while they are trying to wake her up, Elena didn’t woke up until they finally able to wake up Elena.

They are now curious what Elena had dreamed of to be scared and at the same time anxious for them about dying or leaving her.

As Elena calmed down, they deposited her to where she was lying again, but she can’t let them leave nor, letting go of their hands. The two adults, just let Elena to hold them until she fell asleep again.

“She was trembling.” Mr. Vaughn said breaking the silence inside the room.

Ms. Estrella nod, “Elena is always like that, she was anxious and trembling whenever she will have nightmares.”

“And its been a long time since she had one.” Ms. Estrella shared to Mr. Vaughn.

“She always had nightmares back then and I’m afraid if this will be the start again.” Ms. Estrella added worriedly.

“Did she had nightmares frequently, back then?” He asked

Ms. Estrella nod, “Yeah, and after those she will be completely anxious and afraid to sleep again.

Mr. Vaughn felt sorry for Elena as he heard the story, and he thinks that what happened earlier has created a big impact to Elena, to have another nightmare again.

“I’ll go now.” Said before throw his gaze to Elena one more time.

He should capture Raffy as soon as possible to end Elena being tormented by him. He thought as he stare at Elena’s frowning sleeping face before he left the room.

He saw Ian waiting for him, outside Elena’s room and when Ian approach him he command Ian. “Ian, gather all of our men in my office.”

“Right a way sir!” Ian response and took his radio to communicate to all his subordinates.

A sound of a broken glass that Raffy throw furiously, filled the silence of the room, after he heard that his men that he commanded to capture Elena failed and end up being dead by the explosion.

“Idiots!” Raffy shouted in rage.

His just halted when a man, entered his office that carrying a drug in a tray with a glass of water.

Raffy stared at the man with dagger gaze, that made the man’s hand trembled in fear.

“What are you doing?! Give that to me faster before I kill you, i***t!” Raffy said taking his gun and point it to the poor man.

“Y-Yes s-sir.” The man stutter in fear as he moved faster towards Raffy.

“H-Here…” The man said placing the tray on the office table.

Raffy felt his patience is getting cut by the way that man move infront of him. Using his gun he massage his right temple with it while watching the man’s movement.

The man nervously, took the glass of water with his trembling hands, and was about to hand it to Raffy when it spilled making Raffy his annoyance and in a snap he shot the poor gardener in his forehead, and the man falling to the floor lifeless is the sound of scattering another glass that broke that the man was holding.

“Useless coward!” he spat.

He kick the gardener’s lifeless body once that made it exposing the blood flowing coming from the man’s forehead that started to stream towards his shoes, before taking the drug on its bottle and took it straight to his mouth.

After a minute he felt lightly and high at the same time and started to hallucinate. He even shot the man’s lifeless body lying infront of him with rage multiple times as he see the man as Sander Mirabello.

“Die! Die! I will follow you wherever you are, but first, let me make your daughter’s life a living hell!” he said with full of rage before shooting the poor gardener’s body one more time.

Elena woke up feeling dizzy, she felt her surrounding circling, that made her groan and hissed after. She just halted when a flash of her Aunt Elle and her grandpa’s dead body pictured on her mind that made her bulge in her place only to find a deafening evening, surrounding her.

She was about to get on her bed when she felt someone move on the side of her bed. The fear that she felt awhile ago change into a relief one when she saw her Aunt Elle sleeping at the side of her bed leaning the half of her body in it.

Elena didn’t stop herself and went to her Aunt Elle’s side and hug the old lady tightly as she felt a tear escape from her eyes, that made Ms. Estrella woke up and flinch when she felt someone is embracing her tightly.

“Aunt Elle, I thought you r-really d-died infront of m-me.” Elena said between her sobs.

Ms. Estrella felt her heart sunk when she realize  that it was Elena who was embracing her so tightly while crying.

“D-Don’t ever do that to m-me, p-promise me that nothing bad will happen to you a-again.” Elena said embracing her Aunt Elle more tightly, as she recall her dream.

Ms. Estrella tapped Elena’s arms to console the crying lad, who is holding her like she was going to go of disappear somewhere.

“Shh...”

“I promise, what you dreamed about me wasn’t going to happen, and always remember that I’m always right here for you, I’m not going anywhere.” She said assuring the anxious Elena.

Elena nod but she didn’t let her go, and Ms. Estrella embraced Elena back.

“H-How about grandpa where is he? Is he safe?” Elena asked after a while.

“Yep, Mr. Vaughn said he will be staying in his office.” She replied, “don’t be afraid Elena. What you saw on your dream isn’t real.”

Ms. Estrella give Elena as assuring smile to calm her down from being anxious, that Elena response with a small gentle smile.

“Aunt Elle.” Elena called again.

“Can you accompany me to grandpa’s office? I still want to see him.” Elena asked that Ms. Estrella immediately allowed with nod.

She understands Elena being anxious, the nightmare that she had might be horrific to make Elena anxious like this and she can feel Elena’s uneasiness even she already assured her.

Like as Elena said, she accompany her to Mr. Vaughn’s office, where they entered after Elena did a three time knock on the door. But they both halted when they saw many men in black suit is gathered inside the office.

And when they felt their presence they turn their gaze on them including Mr. Vaughn that was currently seating on his swivel chair with Ian standing behind his seat.

“I-I’m sorry.” Elena apologetically said.

She realize that she barged in her grandpa’s office in a very wrong time, but she felt completely relief that she can see her grandpa alive and is looking at her surprise. A while ago she felt uneasy that’s why she asked her Aunt Elle to accompany her and now that she saw her grandpa, her uneasiness fade on her system.

“What are you doing here Elena?” Mr. Vaughn asked as he stood up from his seat and approach Elena.

Elena didn’t say anything yet and just hugged Mr. Vaughn in a very tight way, before smiling brightly.

“Nothing, I am glad that you are safe grandpa.” She said.

Mr. Vaughn smiled to Elena, “I’m always safe, we are always safe, Elena.”

Elena nod in response and told him that she will get back at her room, and apologize again for interrupting their important meeting.

As soon as Elena disappeared, Mr. Monte face his men and with full authority he spoke.

“Do everything to capture Raffy and bring him to me dead or alive!”
