CHAPTER TWENTY SIX

“Mr. Vaughn’s men is now looking for us. What are we going to do now?” Mr. Han asked.

Its has been four days since they got escaped from Mr. Vaughn’s men, but up until now Raffy is not doing any move and he seems at ease at some point.

“Do you have any plan on your mind?” he curiously asked.

Raffy, stood up and said, “Don’t ask and just do your job properly, now that Mr. Vaughn found out that you’re a traitor, I might just kill you if you continuously become useless to me.”

Mr. Han’s just stay in silence after what Raffy had said. After a few moments, Trevor came in, with a man that man behind him.

The man’s face was beyond repair for his face burnt almost the half of it, though his eyes seems doesn’t get affected from being burned.

“You’re here.” Raffy said smirking as he saw the man.

“Of course, I miss my little brat who turned me like this.” The man said smirking, but his eyes are full of anger.

Elena quietly sneak out of the attic where she was staying, afraid that Nick and Lain would see her. She was famish for Nick  and Lain her new parents doesn’t even given her anything and the last time she tasted food was 3 days ago.

She don’t know why her new parents is so cruel to her, they often beaten her without any reason and they will hit her more terribly when she have done even a little mistake she didn’t mean.

A man took her after her Nanny Nancy died from the car accident. Her nanny Nancy was the one who take care of her after her parents died, though she doesn’t have any memories of her parents nor how they died. Her Nanny Nancy told her that when the right time comes her memories will come back.

But, she died suddenly. And at the funeral a man showed up telling her that her Nanny Nancy ask him to take care of her, but the man took her to Nick and his wife Lain, and that’s the start of everything.

“Where are you going brat?!” she flinch as her body starts trembles when she Lain’s voice behind her.

Slowly, she turned to face the dark face of Lain, but she tremble more when she saw the rope on Lain’s hand.

“I-I-I am f-famished.” she said in a near whispering way as her tears starting to fall.

“Who told you that you will eat?” Lain said, approaching her little by little, “I never permitted you to come down, yet you disobey me again!”

Elena flinch on the thunderous voice of Lain, she bend on her knees to the ground as she started to cry, pleading.

“P-Please d-don’t hurt m-me, I-I promise I-I w-will not come down again, u-until you will  s-say!” she pleaded rubbing her hands together, while crying out loud.

“What is that noise?!” Elena body rooted as she heard Nick’s angry voice.

She look at Lain, trying to ask for help using her eyes but Lain didn’t heed it, and remain cold while turning to Nick’s who is currently furiously mad.

“A got a little rat here, trying to sneak out.” Lain said as Nick was just a few steps from them.

Elena saw Nick took the rope on Lain’s hand and approach her. Trembling she tried to plead again, but the two was a deaf for her pleading. Without a thought she felt Nick hold her tight on her wrist that made her wince in pain for the past bruise was still there.

“How dare you to make a noise and now you are trying to sneak out?!” Lane said angrily asking.

“I-I’m s-s-sorry, I-I will not g-going to do it a-again.” Elena plead with her face pooled in tears.

“No. You brat  will never learn and will just continue to disobey us!” Nick said dragging her out like a piece of trash.

“Help! Lain p-please, help!” she asked for help while Nick is dragging her.

Lain remain standing there as she watch how Elena was being dragged in a inhumane way, but she’s too deaf to help Elena who is shouting for help.

“Shut up, brat!” Nick shouted and slap Elena enough to shut her up.

Elena was just crying the whole time she was being dragged by Nick. She just want to find something to eat yet, here she is again being beaten up and now dragging her somewhere she don’t know where.

She heard a rain pouring as Nick open the door and her eyes widen as Nick continuously dragged her in the middle of the rain, and they stop in a large old tree.

“You want to go out right?” Nick asked as he started to tie Elena’s hands. “Now enjoy the whole night outside.”

“N-No, p-please, I-I’m s-scared!” she cried hard as she plead for again.

She tried to bulge while Nick is tying her but, she receive a slap and a very tight grasp from Nick’s again.

“I don’t care, you must learn your lesson not to disobey us ever again!” Nick’s said as he finished tying Elena up.

Smirking to the child state and leave her in the middle of a icy evening while being tied to a tree with lot of ants. Nick didn’t bother to look back.

“That’s what you’ve got for being a brat.” He uttered, leaving Elena crying and pleading.

“No, please don’t leave me!” Elena continuously plead while watching Nick getting away.

“Please!”

“Please…”

“Plea—”

Elena woke up by a shake from Ms. Estrella, and after a while she felt something touch her forehead making her flinch.

Calming Elena, Ms. Estrella hummed, “It’s okay, its just a dream.”

Ms. Estrella console to Elena as she felt her trembling. She woke up when she heard Elena mumbling simultaneously, asking for help and pleading while her forehead was soaking wet.

“A-Aunt Elle…” Elena uttered in whisper as she turn her terrified gaze on her.

“T-They are hurting me and it hurts l-like crazy, I j-just wanted to e-eat but h-he tied me.” Elena mumbled, while trembling in fear.

Ms. Estrella scoop Elena and embrace her to calm her down, telling her comforting words. She thought Elena had finished struggling with her nightmares but, she thought wrong.

She had been staying with Elena for 2 months and she closely observe her, and this is the first time in the 1 month and 3 weeks that her nightmare visited her again.

Continuously humming, she felt Elena at ease again because her trembling body stop. She felt Elena moving her hear away form her shoulder, and as she stared at Elena she is now seem calm unlike before.

She move towards the side table and took Elena’s anxiety pill and handed it to her.

“You okay now?” she asked after Elena took the pill.

“Y-Yeah, I’m sorry I woke you up.” Elena responded with apology to her.

 “Its okay.” she said with a smile and caress Elena’s back.

Honestly, Elena felt somewhat unease after that dream. She don’t know yet she knows that her dream was a part of her past. And now she felt that there is something bad will happen but she can’t just entertain it, for it might just her anxiety attacking again.

“Aunt Elle.” Elena called to Ms. Estrella after a while.

“I don’t know why, but I have a bad feeling that something will happen.” Elena confessed.

Ms. Estrella just gave her a smile and said, “nothing will happen okay, we have guards outside right?”

“B-But Raffy was still out there.” Elena reason out.

“We have guards to protect us, so be at ease and just go back to sleep, you seem so tired.” Ms. Estrella said again.

Ms. Estrella tuck Elena to bed again after easing her. Elena seemed so tired after that dream, and she needed a list of reasoning out to make Elena at ease and gladly it worked.

Though even her is worried specially for Elena and Lena as well, for when Lena is fighting, Elena is fighting as well.

She remembered the day that Lena came to rescue them. Her heart almost stopped when she saw a gun pointed on Lena’s head, the fear she felt was to much.

But, she can’t do anything the person that wants to harm Elena doesn’t want to stop and so is Lena. She understand why Lena is like that, though it is wrong, killing people is a sin, but she can’t stop her for that is how her personality created.

Vengeful, cold, merciless, and had some naughtiness, that even Harris was having a hard time to measure Elena’s personality, for it is too unpredictable and special among the Dissociative cases.

She doesn’t know why that man, want to harm Elena so much, that he even killed Elena’s parents that now made Elena like this, a fearful, anxious, and sick that Elena didn’t deserve.

She doesn’t deserve to suffer like this, and to even have this multiple mental disorders.

Ms. Estrella sleep that night with those thoughts on her mind.

“I got it, just continue to inform me everything.” Mr. Vaughn said after his loyal person told him what he needed to know.

Its 4 am in the morning yet he still can’t sleep, he is thinking about Elena Mirabello.

He is his godson’s daughter, and the only heiress of MC, that Raffy is keep on eyeing. Now that he found that Elena alive, he thought that he could pass it to her as soon as he find her, but the situation affects it.

And he must protect the heiress. He smile plastered on his mind as he first hear Elena’s voice, for it was too cold yet theirs a hint of naughty in it.

She is really a Mirabello, that’s what he thought, for Mirabellos are known for their icy tone whenever they get annoyed, mad, or anything is not pleased them.

And when he saw her at the office, Elena was really a like of her late grandfather, Sander and Raffy’s father. For the child is too scary to approach, from eyes and to her aura screamed danger.

Though unlike Sander, her father. Sander is a very affectionate man, but can be ruthless that the Mirabello is famous with when needed.

And now knowing that Raffy is still on the move, he knows for sure that Raffy will do anything for his greed.

Raffy the 2nd son of Arnulfo Mirabello, was adopted after being left on the gate of the Mirabello Mansion. A three year old Sander was the one who insist to just adopt the child for he wants a brother, because Arnulfo’s wife got a complication after Sander was born and was not able to conceived again.

He knows everything about Mirabello, for Arnulfo and him was bestfriends and up until now he can’t believe that the child they took will be the one who would be cause of the real Mirabellos life to end.

And now, that the last real blood of MIrabello remained alive, he wlll do anything to protect the girls life and her inheritance that is long over due needed to transfer into her.

“I have got where our dear brat is hiding.” Raffy said, smirking as he ended the call from his informant.

“Nice! Its been years since the last time I saw my little brat and now its time for pay back!” the man said who was just seated in the corner part of the room.

“Psh!”

“Don’t get to hot Nick, my dear niece is mine now, your chance has ended years ago.” Raffy said as he place his phone on the table.

“Now its my time to get what I should’ve get if you just don’t failed,” Raffy said approaching Nick and directly stared to his eyes.

“Seems your brat has a lot of debt to pay with you.” Chuckling while shaking his head in entertainment, Trevor commented.
