Chapter Four
I was shocked seeing him behind me; I didn't hear him come in, nor did I smell him either. I guess the smell of the shower gel was messing up with my nose.
But then why is he naked and in the shower with me? He could have waited for me to get out; it wouldn't kill to do that.
My gaze wandered off from his face to his slightly excited d**k, and I yanked my eyes off almost immediately.
My heart was racing and the mate bond was pulling me in, messing with my head.
He took a few steps towards me, his fingers brushing my hair off my face. My heartbeat increased the pace.
He leaned in and took my lips in a kiss. I was lost in emotion, enjoying the pleasure that comes with it. I could hear his deep groans.
He snaked his arms around my waist, pushing my body to his; immediately, a vision flashed in my head.
I saw a very dark, cold room, with blood on the floor. Jayden was on the floor crying while holding onto someone, whom I think is dead. I was trying to comprehend the vision but disappeared as fast as it came.
I was taken to yet another room; a man was lying on the bed; he looked dead rather than alive. I moved closer to the man, and he had a striking resemblance to Jayden.
I leaned in to get a better view of his face, and his eyes popped open, grabbing my hand.
"I will kill you all," he whispered in a horrifying way.
Jayden yanked his lips off mine like he was stung by a bee, and I snapped out of the visions. His eyes glittered, I was trying to understand the visions, but, before I knew it, he dug his hand into my neck, lifting me off the ground while smirking.
"What did you just do?" he asked. I kept hitting his hands, making some incoherent sound, while telling him to let me go.
His two colored eyes suddenly became pitch black, he was smirking mischievously, and his grip on my neck tightened.
I felt life slowly seeping away. I had always blamed the moon goddess for making me a freak, but never had I imagined that this stupid gift, which I had no control over, would be the death of me.
I was almost seeing the other side when he suddenly let go of me. I fell on the floor, clutching my neck and coughing hard, tears running down my cheeks and my eyes red.
I turned to give Jayden an angry stare, but it quickly disappeared when I saw the shock on his face.
He was staring at his hands like he was oblivious to what just happened now; his eyes were back to normal if only two different eye colors were normal.
He bent down to hold me, but I scampered away from him, scared for my life. I had no idea what just happened or why he was acting like he was possessed. But I wasn't going to stick around to find out why he snapped.
His face suddenly turned sad watching me cry on the floor, clutching my neck, and scared of him. I could swear I saw him shed a tear, but he quickly got off the floor and out of the shower.
I had no idea if I hurt him, but this is my life we are talking about; he almost choked me to death. Whatever it is he thinks he is feeling, I don't give a f**k.
I spent a few hours sitting in the shower trying to wrap my head around what transpired between Jayden and me.
I mean, one minute he was into me, kissing me, and the next he was choking me out. The memory of what transpired between him and Liam, earlier flashed in my head.
"Does his urge to kill people drive him insane?" I asked myself. I heard a couple of stories about him, but the most popular of them was the fact that wherever he goes, heads roll. I guess this is what they mean.
After spending forever in the bathroom, I finally found the strength to finish up my bath. I stepped out of the shower to find a set of new clothes carefully laid on the bed.
I knew it was Ana's doing. I changed into the new clothes while I went to the mirror to see how the clothes looked on me.
"Not bad," I whispered, wondering if she had me measure because it fit perfectly.
The red patches on my neck caught my attention. I ran my fingers through it, and flashes of the scene in the bathroom hit me.
His pitch-black eyes sent a shiver down my spine; the sound of a car engine brought me back to reality.
I moved to the window to look outside but only saw a black Gwagon leaving the house.
I quickly rushed out of the door. I made my way to the dining room, hoping to see Ana, but there was no sign of her anywhere.
I was about to head back to the sitting room when I heard a glass shatter on the floor. I stopped in my tracks, wondering where it came from.
"Ana!" I called out but didn't get any response. I called her a couple of times but still didn't get any response.
"I must have heard wrong," I whispered under my breath. I went into what I think was the laundry room, but there were still no signs of her.
"Did she go out?" I asked myself, hoping I wasn't the only one locked in this big house,
"Ana," I called out again.
Kelani: "I heard someone call. I turned almost immediately, but there wasn't anyone behind me.
I heard the voice again; it was more like a whisper but loud enough for me to hear. The voice came again, and I decided to follow the voice. Immediately I got to the staircase, and the voice disappeared.
"Hello"
Silence was the only response I got. My heart began racing. I don't want to sound ridiculous, but this is how a haunted house series begins. Wandering off to some quiet place, something crawls out of a dark place and the killing begins.
I felt goosebumps all over my body, just thinking about it.
I don't care what this is, but I would rather lock myself inside the room and wait till Ana comes back than wander off and get killed.
"Kelani," I heard the whispers again, coming from one of the rooms upstairs. I paused scared out of my mind.
I was about to run into the room when I was suddenly overtaken by a force, and I found myself climbing the stairs; it felt like I was possessed and unable to stop myself from going any further.
The higher I went, the louder the whispers became.
I was done climbing the last flight of stairs, there was a door on my right-hand side, and I began hearing a creak, like one of the doors was slowly opening.
It was scary, just like the horror movies I have watched. But I couldn't bring myself to run. The door of one of the rooms caught my attention; it was the door, the one I saw in my vision while kissing the Alpha King.
Even when all the doors looked the same, I remembered that letter J boldly written on the door. I had no idea what brought me up here or what has been calling out to me, but whatever it is, it lies behind this door.
I had many thoughts running through my mind; each thought scared me more than the other. I thought about running back downstairs, but I couldn't as I was held on the spot by some force.
"Don't be shy, Lani" the whispering continued, but this time, it seemed whatever it was, was having fun, toiling with me. The door was unlocked; it just needed a little push, and it would be wide open.
I reluctantly tried pushing the door, as I couldn't leave.
"Luna!" I heard Ana's voice from behind me, and it felt like something suddenly released me.
"I..." I stuttered, pointing at the door. She quickly came over to the door and pulled it shut.
"You shouldn't be here, Luna," Ana said.
"I was looking for you earlier, when... when I thought I heard someone call me," I explained. She acted suspiciously.
"I stepped out to get the laundry," she said. Gesturing me to come back down with her, she diverted.
I quickly followed her downstairs, while glancing back at intervals.
"Is there someone else in the house?" I asked her,
"Dinner will be served soon; you should rest Luna; you don't look so well," she said, ignoring my question again.
She has been avoiding some of my questions, which makes me more curious, but whatever it is that is in that room, I have a feeling is evil.
I felt a fresh wave of fear run through my body, and I wanted nothing but to be far away from the bloody house.
"Did something happen earlier, with the Alpha King, Luna?"
"Why, did he say anything?"
"No, Luna, I should go set the table," she hurried out of the hallway into one of the rooms. I was about to go back to the room when I noticed the door was slightly open. I glanced upstairs, then to the room Ana disappeared to, and I made up my mind immediately.
"It's now or never," I whispered. I slowly made my way to the door, making my way outside, hoping to escape like I did at Shadow Pack.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," I heard a familiar voice behind me.
