Sarah couldn't believe what she had just seen. James, her mate-to-be, in bed with Mary, her supposed friend. She felt like her world had been turned upside down. As she walked away from the apartment, Sarah felt a mix of emotions: pain, anger, and betrayal. She couldn't understand why James would do such a thing. Hadn't they just settled their differences? Sarah's mind raced with questions. How could James do this to her? How could Mary betray her like that? As she walked, Sarah's anger grew. She wanted to confront James and Mary, to make them understand how much they had hurt her. But as she turned back to face the apartment, Sarah saw James stumbling out of the building, looking disheveled and guilty. "Sarah, wait!" James called out, but Sarah just shook her head and kept walking. She didn't want to hear his excuses or apologies. She just wanted to get away from him and the pain he had caused her. As she walked, Sarah felt tears streaming down her face. She had never felt such a deep sense of betrayal and hurt. How could the people she trusted most in the world do this to her? Sarah didn't know how she would ever be able to forgive James and Mary. Right now, all she felt was pain and anger. Sarah's mind raced with thoughts of revenge. She couldn't just let James and Mary get away with what they had done. She needed a plan, something that would make them pay for their betrayal. As she walked, Sarah's eyes narrowed. She would get her revenge, no matter what it took. After hours of walking, Sarah finally arrived at her destination. She had been thinking about what to do, and now she had a plan. Sarah arrived at Mary's apartment, her heart racing with anticipation. She knew that Mary was home alone, and she was ready to confront her. "Mary, open up!" Sarah demanded, banging on the door. Mary opened the door, looking surprised to see Sarah. "Sarah, what's going on?" Sarah stormed into Mary's apartment, her eyes blazing with anger. "You're a traitor, Mary," Sarah spat. "I know all about your little affair with James." Mary looked taken aback, but then a sly smile spread across her face. "Oh, Sarah, you're so misunderstood," Mary said, her voice dripping with innocence. "James and I were just friends. He was comforting me because I was feeling down." Sarah snorted. "Don't lie to me, Mary. I saw the messages on your phone. You and James were planning a romantic getaway together." Mary's smile faltered for a moment, but then she recovered quickly. "Sarah, listen to me. James and I were just friends, but...he didn't love you. He was using you for convenience. He told me that himself." Sarah's eyes widened in shock. "What are you talking about?" Mary leaned in, her voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "James told me that he was only with you because it was easy. He didn't love you. But he loves me. He told me that himself." Sarah felt a sting from Mary's words. She didn't want to believe them, but a part of her wondered if they were true. Was James using her? Did he love Mary? "Shut up, Mary! James loves me, not you! You're just using him because you're a silly b***h who can't get a man on your own!" Sarah yelled, her face red with anger. Mary just laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "Oh, Sarah, you're so naive. Get out of my house, you stupid girl!" "You're the one who's stupid, Mary! You think you can just seduce James and get away with it? Well, you're wrong! He loves me, and I'm the one he wants to be with!" Sarah shouted back. "Really? Well, that's not what he told me," Mary said, her voice dripping with malice. "He told me that he was tired of your clinginess and your constant need for attention. He said that I was the one who understood him." Mary said she was trying to poison her mind against James. Sarah felt a stinging sensation in her eyes as tears began to form. "That's not true! James would never say that!" "Oh? Well, maybe you should ask him then," Mary sneered. "But I think we both know the truth. He touched me, Sarah. He laid me on his bed and held me in his arms. Did I force him to do that?" Sarah felt a wave of nausea wash over her as she realized the truth in Mary's words. She had been so blind, so stupid. James had been using her all along, and Mary had been the one he wanted. With a sob, Sarah turned and ran out of the house, leaving Mary's mocking laughter behind her. She ran as fast as she could, tears streaming down her face, until she reached the safety of her apartment. There, she collapsed on the floor, her heart shattered into a million pieces. Sarah lay on the floor, her body shaking with sobs. She couldn't believe what Mary had told her. She couldn't believe that James had betrayed her like that. As she lay there, Sarah felt a sense of numbness wash over her. She didn't know what to do or where to go. She just knew that she had to get away from Mary and James. After what felt like hours, Sarah finally got up and stumbled to the bathroom. She splashed water on her face and looked at herself in the mirror. Her eyes were puffy and red, her face streaked with tears. She looked like a mess. Sarah took a deep breath and tried to calm down. She knew she had to think clearly if she was going to get through this. She walked back to the living room and picked up her phone. She scrolled through her contacts until she found her best friend's number. "Emily, I need you," Sarah said, her voice shaking. "I just found out that James is cheating on me with Mary. I don't know what to do." Emily's voice was calm and reassuring at the other end of the line. "Sarah, I'm so sorry. That's horrible. But you're going to get through this. I'm here for you." Sarah felt a wave of gratitude towards Emily. She knew that she could always count on her friend to be there for her. "Thanks, Emily. Just talking to you makes me feel a little better." "Anytime, Sarah. That's what friends are for. Now, let's figure out what we're going to do about James and Mary." Sarah smiled slightly. She knew that with Emily's help, she could get through anything.
