Work went smoothly. There were no jerks to piss me off, and Mara had either had a night off, or called in sick. I suspected the former thanks to my double shift. Not that doubles were that bad, considering it only meant I had to dance twice. And, as a bonus, I made it home with no headache, and no more letters, and no more appearances from men I might have made up anyway. But when I locked my door behind me, I saw the letter where I"d left it before work. It was almost as if it had called to me and demanded my attention. I sighed. There really was nothing for it.
