Chapter 6 Food scraps grew cold and congealed on the plates. The aroma, still delicious and enticing, would assault the nostrils come morning. Already, the tomato base of the Ragu took on a sharper, acidic tang, but Dean struggled to rise from the armchair so ignored it. The sole illumination in the room came from digital numbers beaming out from the sound system. Grey but darkening light shone in from outside.
