Chapter 10

I walk in the hallways with holding my comic book. This weekend we will flight to New York and have nationals there but right now, Mr. Schue want us to have technical meeting for the mission.

I walk enter the choir room and reading my comic book while walking. It's been a long time I didnt read this.

"Madison, something fall from your book." Artie says to me and points to the ground.

"I see that. Thanks, by the way." I said to Artie.

I saw a paper fall down from my book. I take that paper from the ground and look at it. What is this? I never see this paper before and I remember that the last time I know Finn was the one who borrowed this book.

I'm still standing and open that folded little paper and there is a letter on it. It wrote 'I love you. Ps: turn around.' what is this?

I just frown and I suddenly turn around and right I turn around Finn walks in enter the choir room alone.

No, Madison. This is just accidentally happened. I folded that paper again and place it inside my book and walk to my seat next to Tina since we are in charge for the costume duty.

"Help me for the chemistry today?" Finn sit down in front of me and turn around at me.

"I cant." I shake my head. "Tina and I wanna finish the costume in my house today."

"Why do I ask? I can come to your house easily." Finn simply said and turn back to the front.

I just being quiet and looking at him as he sit down in front of me. Did he really write this paper? Or is it someone else? But why he keep pretending like there is nothing between us?

Well, the fact that nothing between us. And no. He loves Rachel and he must be want to say that thing to Rachel but he forget it and put it down inside my book. That's it.

I take my ransel and about put that book back inside my bag but suddenly Finn takes that book from my hand.

"Borrow this one. I havent finish read it but you already took it." Finn says to me.

"Next time if you borrow someone's book. Just make sure that you wont leave any stuff inside that." I roll my eyes.

Finn's POV

I just being quiet and turn around. I open that book carefully and find that paper is still inside there. Did she already find about this? God no way!

I place that book inside my bag quickly. I just hope that Madison didnt read the things inside the paper or anything. I just hope that she will think that it's just book line, nothing else.

"Hey, Finn." Rachel smiles at me and sit down next to me.

"Hey." I smile back at her and place my bag on the ground.

I dont know what I feel now. I dont know my feeling to Rachel. Either I'm still in love with her or not because it feels different.

"Alright, report time. Costume duty how's your work?" Mr. Schue walks in.

"The costume is 80% done, Mr. Schue. Madison and I decided to finish it tonight so the costume duty will sleepover at hers." Tina says.

"It will be little awkward to have sleepover at Madison's which is next mine." Kurt says.

"That will be fun, Kurt." Madison giggles.

"Well, so Madison, Mercedes, Kurt, and I will work with that tonight." Tina says to Mr. Schue.

"Great. Thank you, Tina. Now, I want you to keep your body stay healthy because this weekend we will go to New York!" Mr. Schue grin happily at us.

We just cheering happily until the bells suddenly rings as the school just ended.

"Alright everyone. Do your best okay." Mr. Schue says to us and walk off.

I'm standing from my seat and take my bagpack. Madison take her ransel and walk to the front and take those costume clothes until some of them fall down to the ground.

I was about to walk to the front and help her but Sam catches her first and they start smiling each other and Sam help her to bring those stuff as they walk together.

Madison is single. And she can get closer with any guy she wants and I also know that Sam is single. I dont know why but I feel something different inside. Am I jealous?

"Finn, you dont wanna go home?" Rachel asks me.

"Yeah sure." I nodded and walk off from the choir room with Rachel.

Sam and Madison are walking together in front of us and seems like they are talking to each other and enjoy the convo.

"Madison told me that she broke up with her boyfriend and I guess it's cute if Sam and her are together." Rachel says to me.

"Yeah they both single." I nodded.

"Like us." Rachel said shyly and walk away.

Rachel and I arent getting back together. Either both of us didnt say anything and it makes me confused. I'm confused with my feeling.

Madison's POV

"Thank you, you're really nice." I smile at Sam.

"That's okay. Just helping out." Sam smiles back at me and close the door of my car baggage.

"You wanna come to my house and help us, maybe?" I raise my eyebrows.

"Thank you but I have to go home.. so...."

"Yeah..yeah.. so see you." I smile shyly at him.

"Yeah see you." Sam smiles shyly at me and walk off.

I'm just standing in front of my car and looking at him walk away from me then turn around at me and wave me a goodbye and smiles at me.

I just smile shyly at him and wave him a goodbye. I just realized that he such a cute one even Finn is still more cute than him. Wait, what am I talking about?

"Ehmm are we here only to see you and Sam waved each other?" Mercedes break a leg.

"I'm sorry guys." I chuckle and get into my car.

"Dont you have a boyfriend?" Tina asks me.

"No, I broke up with Aaron." I simply said and start driving away from McKinley.

"I told you, Sam is single. He is football player. His voice is great. Last his two relationship ended up bad. And he is cute." Kurt says.

"Finn is way more cute than him." I mumbled.

"You say what?" Tina asks me.

"No, it's nothing." I giggle and still driving.

It's so stupid. Why I cant get Finn out from my mind since I red that paper? No, Madison. He is just your bestfriend and that paper was for Rachel not you. Dont be stupid.

I'm still driving until I got into my house. I park my car in front of my house. I went out from my car along with Tina, Kurt, and Mercedes.

"I'm gonna take a bath first them I'll grab some snacks and pillows then I will come to your house from the back door." Kurt says to me.

"Sure. Then just come upstairs to my room." I said to Kurt.

"I know that." Kurt says to me and walk to his house.

I let out a sigh and take my house key. I dont see dad's car outside so he must be still have work. Mercedes and Tina take all those costume stuff from my car baggage.

I press the knob of my house door but it's unlocked. Dad already home but where is his car?

"Dad, you already home? I dont see your car outside." I get in and looking for dad.

"Hey, Madison. What do you want for dinner tonight?" Brenda walks in from the kitchen.

"What are you doing in my house?" I frown at her.

"Mr. Collins has to go to Cleveland for two days so he sends me here to cook you dinner. He will back tomorrow evening." Brenda says to me.

"Well, you dont need to. I can buy food besides that my friends will sleepover here since we have to finish the costume for nationals." I said to Brenda.

"Okay, but Mr. Collins said if you need anything you have to call him." Brenda says and went out from my house.

"I will. Thanks by the way." I simply said and close the door then lock the door then walk upstairs escort Mercedes and Tina to my room.

"Who is she?" Tina asks me.

"My dad's secretary. She must be can get in because my dad give the key to her." I said as I enter my room escort them.

"Wow, you have a cozy room." Mercedes says as she look around.

"Yeah my dad decorated this one for me. He said that he want to make feel comfortable in a new place. So just make yourself feel like home." I smile at them and press the button of my phone house in my bedroom.

The phone sounds is ringing. Means that there was a call in but I wasnt home so it got into the message.

'Hey, honey. I'm so sorry that I have to go to Cleveland for urgent meeting. If you need something just call me and if you're hungry, just tell Brenda about the food you like or order the food and using my credit card number. Dont forget to lock the door before go to sleep, breakfast with cereals tomorrow morning no bread, dont be late for school, and I'll back tomorrow evening. Just take care. I love you."

"Love you too!" I sigh and lay my body on my bed. Suddenly my puppy jumps to my bed and barking at me. "Hey Mike!"

"Mike?" Tina frowns.

"Ugh sorry, my dog's name is Mike Wazoski." I said to Tina.

"I though it was Mike Chang." Tina giggles.

"You only lived with your dad?" Mercedes asked me.

"Yeah. In this house only two of us. Sounds lonely but my dad and I already lived like this since I was born until now." I said to them and take the sewing machine from my wardrobe.

"Where is your mom?" Tina asks me.

"She left me. My parents never married. They were in love, then slept together and I born. My dad decided to keep me and raise me since he knows my mom was pregnant especially when I was born, he doesnt wanna stay away from me so I only have a dad. I dont have a mom." I half-smiled at them.

"I'm so sorry about that." Tina says sadly.

"That's okay. I'm happy with my life and I love my life." I chuckle. "Alright, lets do this costume duty." I said to them and start doing for this clothes.

"Madison?" Kurt's shout.

"Coming!" I shout back.

Kurt open the door and get into my room bring pillows and blanket. "What a cool room. And this is the window that I can see from Finn's room." Kurt says and points to the window.

"Yep, I can see Finn's topless body from that window." I chuckle.

The others just chuckles and we start continue finish this costume for nationals this weekend.

"I'm hungry." Mercedes groans.

"Well, me too. I'll buy some dinner outside also some snacks. You guys stay here right." I said to them and take my sling bag from my cabinet and put my phone and my wallet inside.

"You can call the food." Mercedes says.

"I need to go wallmart actually. Stay here okay." I said to them and walk off from my room.

I walk out from my room and walk to downstairs then went out from my house and take my car key.

I unlock my car while lock my house door. Maybe I will buy some McDonalds and then buy some chips in wallmart.

"Give the car key to me."

"Can you not shock me for a while?" I raise my eyebrows at Finn. "I almost punch your face because I though you are robbery."

"I wanna get some dinner and snacks for my boys and I see you also want to go out so why dont we go together?" Finn grins at me.

"I also the same." I sigh and give my car key to him then walk to my car then get into the front passenger seat.

"That's good." Finn simply said and get into the drive seat and start driving.

"I want to go to McDonalds so just go there then go to walmart." I said to Finn.

"Yes, ma'am. Anything else?" Finn asks.

I cover his mouth with my hand. "Just keep driving and stop talking, big guy."

"I dont like that nickname." Finn says innocently.

I just laugh so hard then turn my face to the street. "I also dont like it."

"Well, how was the plan A to get through from your previous relationship?" Finn asks me. "Did Sam already ask you out or something?"

"We just talked today. Literally. But I think he is kinda cute." I giggle.

"I'm more cute than him." Finn proudly says.

"True." I nodded.

"You agree with that?" Finn grins at me.

"No, I didnt. I meant Sam way more cute than you." I shake my head.

"Well, it's arrived. Just order any food you want." Finn says to me and enter the car to the drive thru.

"You said that you wanna buy some dinner for boys. The boys are having sleepover at yours?" I ask Finn and get out from my car.

"Yeah we wanna play CoD without any girl so you cant disturb me." Finn says to me.

"Who says that I wanna disturb you." I roll my eyes and order my food.

"This is my order and you pay." Finn grins at me and give me a paper for his order list.

I roll my eyes and curl my lips. Glad that he is my bestfriend. If he wasnt, I might already kill him and throw his body away because the more he grow up, he become more annoying.

"Finn, are you getting back together with Rachel?" I turn my face at Finn while waiting for my order.

"Nope. We didnt. Why?" Finn raises his eyebrows at me.

"No. It's fine." I simply said and turn my face away.

It such a stupid thing to asked something like that. Of course soon or later Finn will getting back together with Rachel besides that I already found that paper inside my book and it must be for Rachel.

I got all my order and now just let bring this home. Finn start the car and drive away from McDonalds then turn his way to walmart.

I just keep looking at the street until I see a familiar creature is walking down in front of a mall with a girl.

"Finn, stop the car." I said to Finn.

"What happened?" Finn stop the car in the corner.

I didnt answer him but went out from that car and walk closer to that person. "Daddy?" I raise my eyebrows at my dad and turn my face to a woman next to him.

"M-maddy? It's already evening honey. Go back home." Dad says to me.

"You said that you went to Cleveland but why I see you here in front of a mall with a woman?" I'm sobbing.

"Princess, I can explain..."

"You dont need to explain! You lied to me. You didnt go to Cleveland but you went out with this woman! You never lied to me, dad but why you did this to me?!" I'm crying and run to my car and get into my car.

"Maddy! Madison! Let daddy explain, honey." Dad knock the window of my car.

"Just go, Finn." I simply said to Finn.

"But..."

"I said just go!" I yelled and crying out loud.

Finn start driving away from this place. I can see from the side mirror that dad is just standing on the edge of the street and look angry.

I just cant believe that he lied to me. He lied to his daughter only to met a woman. I cant believe he could do that. He never lie to me and I guess that my dad isnt love me anymore.

"Maddy, your dad must be has his own reason." Finn says to me.

"No, the fact. He lied to me." I shake my head and still crying.

Finn is still driving then he parks the car in front of my house. I'm just being quiet and still sitting down on my seat. I cant believe that my dad could do that things to me.

"Maddy, your dad is unmarried. He is old but he still look handsome. I bet, he loves you more than anything and I'm sure that woman was nothing, they even didnt holding hands. You just need to listen to him. Listen to his explanation." Finn says to me.

"I just cant. That was really hurt me." I'm crying.

Finn pulls my hand and hug me really tight. "You trust your dad right? You love him right? If you love him just let him be happy. I felt the same when my mom told me that she was in love with Burt but as long as she is happy, I would do that for her." Finn rubs my back.

"That's different case, Finn." I'm crying out loud.

"Just stop crying, Maddy. I dont wanna see you cry. And I wont let anyone else hurt you." Finn pulls my body away and cup my cheek.

I'm still crying and looking at him. Finn looking at me deeply and still cupping my cheek. He pulls my face closer to him then something crash my lips and he kisses me softly.

Finn kisses my lips while cupping my cheek and it feels like the first time he kissed me that day before I left, no differences. I dont know what to do but my heart told me to kiss him back and I did that.

"I'm...I'm sorry.. I'm really sorry." Finn says to me.

"That's..."

"That's only a part of the test that I give you. Like how-how to kiss a guy. Yeah." Finn says to me.

"Yeah-yeah I know that." I nodded.

"Well-well, you have to give these food to others before they die." Finn says then take his food outside from my car.

I take my car key from my car and went out from my car while holding these food. "You should better go too before the boys become hangry." I said nervously and get into my house.

"Good night!" Finn shouts.

I close my house door and lock it. I place the key on the keys box. I'm still standing and touch my lips after Finn ruinned my lipstick then I walk upstairs to get into my room.

"Sorry for making you wait, guys." I said to them and give the food to them.

"You cried?" Kurt frowns at me.

"Finn made stupid jokes and I laughed out loud until I cried. He also bought some food for the boys in his house." I said to them.

"That's why I dont wanna sleep in my house tonight." Kurt simply said.

"Alright just enjoy the food." I giggle.

I'm sitting down on the sofa near my window and looking at the window. It's almost midnight, all those costume finally done. Tina and Mercedes already fell asleep on my sofa bed. Kurt is busy with his phone and sitting down on my swing chair.

I open my curtain fully. I can see the boys in Finn's room is still playing a game and sometimes they cheers.

Suddenly Sam turns his face to the window. He look surprised then points at me. I just giggle and wave at him and he smiles at me and wave me a hi. Then Puck throw his head with a bottle. Sam just rubs his head then point to the game. I just nodded and he go back playing the games.

Finn turns his face at me and he just look at me with his poker face. He then walk away from the window until he shows me his notebook and write 'you okay?'

I take my notebook from the drawer under this sofa also a marker and write 'just cant sleep'. Then show that paper to Finn.

Finn write something on that paper then show it to me again 'shall I come over?'

I just shake my head and give a code to him that the others already sleeping. Finn just half-smiled at me and shrug. Puck then take that notebook from Finn and write something there and show it to me 'need a sleeping buddy?'

I laugh and shake my head and write 'good night, guys' then show it to them. Sam takes that notebook from Puck and seems like he write something until he show me that paper and it wrote 'sweet dreams :)' with a smile emoticon, literally.

I smile at them and wave them a goodbye then close my curtain and walk to my bed. "Kurt, if you wanna sleep, just sleep here." I said to Kurt.

"Yeah. Just sleep." Kurt nodded.

"Good night." I said and turn off the light and let my side lamp on.

Finn's POV

"I win!" Sam yelled and jump happily. "Isnt that Madison who looking at us here?" Sam says and points to the window.

"Yes, that's her bedroom." I answer.

Sam just smile shyly at her and wave her a hi. I can see that Madison smiles back at him and wave him a hi too.

"Go back to the game, dude." Puck throw a plastic bottle to Sam's head.

"Okay, okay." Sam rolls his eyes and points to the game while he look at the window. "How lucky you, dude to live next door with a beautiful girl like her." Sam says and playing the games.

"Well, we already neighbor since we both in Montreal." I simply said and take my notebook and show it to Madison.

"Did she can see me that I'm eating Mac n Cheese right now?" Artie asks.

"Nope." I shake my head and read the answer letter that Madison shows me and write another thing on my notebook.

"Give that things to me!" Puck suddenly takes my notebook and write something then show it to her.

Sam pause the game and come to us to see what is the thing that Puck asked and he wrote 'need a sleeping buddy?' I can see that Madison just laugh then shakes her head and wrotes 'good night, guys'.

I was about to take my notebook but Sam take it faster than me and wrote something there. I take a look at it a bit and he wrote 'sweet dreams' with a smile emoticon. Madison smiles at us and wave us a goodbye. She closes her curtain then turn off her lamp.

"So you talk to her with this?" Puck asks me and shows me that notebook.

"Yeah, kind of." I nodded.

"Did you ever seen her naked or topless maybe?" Puck raises his eyebrows at me.

"No, Madison's bathroom is on the right side of her room besides that her bathroom is connect with her wardrobe." I said to them.

"Is she single?" Sam grins at me.

"Yeah she is. She just broke up with her boyfriend." I nodded.

"Man, just give it a shot. Go ask her out." Artie chuckles at Sam.

"Yeah." I nodded and fake smiled at him then sit down on the sofa near my window.

I dont know why I cant smile naturally when Sam plans to ask her out. I take the comic book that I borrow from Madison and looking at that paper. I shouldnt place this paper here actually.

I let out a sigh and turn face at my window then touch my lips. I know I was stupid to kiss her but I just feel like something is back to me. Something important is back to me. And now I dont know what I feel.

Madison's POV

"Coming!" I walk downstairs as I heard the door bell ring and it must be the postman who usually send us the newspaper.

I walk pass the living room and I see my dad is sleeping on the sofa without blanket or even a pillow. He went home last night?

I take the newspaper and some magazine from my mailbox the place it on the cabinet near the door.

I turn my face at dad and he is still wearing the suit he wore last night. It made me feel guilty. Maybe what Finn said was right. My dad didnt lie to me but who is that woman?

"Dad, move to your room. It's freezing here." I wake him up slowly.

"No, it's fine. It's better than you mad at me." Dad simply said.

"Dad, I'm really sorry. I didnt meant to yelled at you like that last night. I'm just jealous and confused because you went out with a woman who I didnt know when Brenda told me that you went to Cleveland. Even you also said the same things to me. I'm really sorry." I'm sobbing.

"She is my new secretary, her name is Daniella, she is married and already have a baby boy. Last night we all have dinner in a restaurant inside that mall also a meeting then after that we are going to Cleveland. I sent Brenda to come here because she was the one who knows you and knows this address." Dad says to me.

"So-so you cancelled your meeting in Cleveland because of me? I'm really sorry, dad. I'm sorry." I'm crying.

"I sent Daniella to come there. It's okay, honey." Dad rubs my hair.

"No, I shouldnt be like that. I should listen to your explain not run away like that. I'm really sorry." I'm crying out loud.

"Ssshh. Stop it. Your friends are upstairs right? What if they hear you cry because of this? You're not a child anymore but you grow up." Dad hugs me and rubs my hair.

"I'm really sorry." I'm sobbing.

"It's okay. Make this as new thing to learn." Dad kisses my head. "Now, I wanna prepare the breakfast for you and your friends first." Dad says to me.

"No, you better go back to sleep. You look tired. I can prepare for the breakfast." I said to dad.

"You sure?" Dad raises his eyebrows at me.

"Yeah. You just sleep, dad." I said.

"Okay. If you need something just wake me up." Dad says to me and walk upstairs to his room.

I wipe my tears away and let out a sigh. I walk to my kitchen and start preparing for the dinner. Until I suddenly standing frozen again and touch my lips and someone suddenly comes to my mind. What's wrong with me?
