More than a month had passed and the Monster had not showed up again.
Due to the anomalous Rodrigues crime, Deputy Prosecutor Trentinotti, a meticulous and prudent man by all accounts, had not yet decided to sign the arrrest warrant against Corona lying on his desk, even though the attack on Carla could suggest that it was punishment for the insinuations that she had launched against the architect in the newspaper. As had been leaked from Court, the magistrate had already interviewed Corona and had judged him a very intelligent person, and he did not consider it very likely, therefore, that he had risked accusing himself by carrying out a visceral vendetta on my colleague.
The investigation stagnated when something new in the Rodrigues case had occurred:
