CHAPTER 1: ELLIE'S POV "Ahhhh!!" I heard a loud scream of agony mixed with pain and immediately, I dashed away from the bed. "Mother!" I yelled as I ran out of the bedroom and down the stairs. My heart beat rapidly as I heard a continuous cry of pain. An hour earlier, I had retired to bed and as I ran down the stairs, I saw that everything had been destroyed. Traces of blood lined the tiled ground and an overwhelming sense of doom washed over me. "Father..." I called out as I got to the foot of the stairs my eyes widened in horror, looking at the scene before me. "Where is she?" A man dressed entirely in black yelled as he stabbed deep into my mother's thighs. "No!" I yelled and immediately ran forward. But I was met with a thick glass wall as I banged against it. "What?!" I cried out as I banged against the wall. My eyes turned teary as I watched several men surround my parents. They were bloodied and badly beaten up and I had never seen them in such a weak state. "Ohh, your pretty little daughter is here." The man in black said as he looked up at me. His eyes were filled with killing intent which made me shudder and I took a few steps back. "Don't touch her, you swine! You will never get what you want." My father said, through gritted teeth as he spat against the man in black. Without thinking twice, the man slapped my father's face and blood whipped out, forming a whirlpool. "Father!" I cried out and at this point, I realized my parents were going to die if I didn't do anything. "Let them go!" I yelled, banging against the glass wall. "Let them go! Right this instant!" I tried to sound brave but my voice shook, depicting how scared I was. "Awww, what are you going to do? Kill me?" The man in black asked, in a mocking tone as he stood up to his feet. Stepping on my mother's bleeding thighs, he walked toward me. I could hear my mother's cries of pain and for each sound, my heart bled. "What do you want?" I yelled as I scratched the glass wall. I just wanted to get hold of the man before me and tear him into pieces. "They wouldn't let me get whom I want. So, tell me why I shouldn't kill them?" The man asked, with a serious expression on his face and my eyes narrowed. What was he talking about? Who did he want? As I continued to mull over his words, my eyes widened. I realized my parents had taken in a stranger and I wondered if I was right. "You want the stranger, right? You can take her! Just let my parents go! They did nothing wrong and you are just going to get punished later." I declared, through gritted teeth as I pointed a shaky finger at him. "You think your parents can punish me? Huh?" He asked, with a mocking smile and I frowned. "My father is the Beta of the Blue Rays Pack, you won't get away with this." I said, with so much resolution in my voice. Immediately, the man in black raised his hand and immediately, my father was shot in the head. His blood spurted out and it continued to gush out, like a flood. "What...?" I let out, in a shaky tone and I felt my world crumbling down. I watched my father convulse and in the next second, he lay still on the ground, dead! "No!!! Father!!" I yelled as I slipped to the ground, in shock. "What did you just do?" I chanted those words, in disbelief as tears rolled down my eyes. I caught a glimpse of my mother's weak body beside my father's lifeless body. I realized I might lose her too. "Please, let my mother go. Take whomever you want and let us go. I need my parents. Get my father back!" I yelled as I was thrown into waves of shock after shock. "Too late, kitty." The man in black said, with a smile on his face. Swiftly, he turned around and ordered, "Finish her off!" "No!!!!" I shouted, urgently. "Don't touch her! Don't you dare!" I yelled. No! I couldn't imagine the scene of my mother being shot. I couldn't even accept that my father was dead. Not my mother! "Do you want to see worse?" The man asked as he turned slightly to look at me. I couldn't comprehend what he was saying not until I saw my mother being stripped naked. Her body was used for a show for the men scattered around. "No, please..." I cried, continuously as I banged against the glass wall. I wanted to save them but I was powerless and helpless. I couldn't even get past the glass wall which had been put up for protection. For several minutes, my mother's naked body was defiled and in the next second, the man in black gave the final order. "Kill her!" This was the final straw and I desperately banged against the wall. I could do nothing and it was like an invisible force was pressing down on me and I just couldn't breathe. "Mother..." I said, in a weak tone as I caught her gaze. She looked at me with so much love and I saw her mutter words of love to me. Even to her dying moment, she loved me. How could I deserve such love when I couldn't even save her when she needed me the most? "Bye..." She muttered and swiftly, a knife was stabbed into her chest and into her heart. I heard her shrill cry of pain and it echoed in my head. A massive burst of pain burst out in my heart and I screamed, in agony. "Ahhhh!!!" I yelled as I rolled on the bare floor. Uncontrollable pain radiated through me and distinctly, I could hear the men trying to break down the glass wall. But then, they couldn't. My parents had set up a fortress to protect me but I was worthless to them. "Take me away..." I muttered as I just wanted to leave, alongside them. The smiling faces of my parents flashed in my head and the happy memories we had together, felt like yesterday. It was just days before my 18th birthday and I was looking forward to my first shift. I was looking forward to running through the woods with my father. He had promised that he would train me to become the strongest female wolf alive. But there he was, laying lifeless. "Just let her be! We have no use for her." I heard the man in black say. Of course, I was just as worthless. "Find that woman!" He ordered and I let out a low mocking chuckle. My parents died all because of a stranger. How unbelievable! As I lay on the floor, I felt a sudden shift within me. My spirit soul felt like it was being suppressed and a burning pain radiated from inside out. "Hmmm..." I groaned in pain as I was pulled into thick darkness.
