EPILOGUE - (TWO MONTHS LATER)
Bella lay nestled into Marco’s arms as they watched a romantic comedy on TV. He gazed into her eyes at the end of the movie and leaned in for a kiss. He deepened the kiss when the doorbell rang.
Bella broke away and beamed at him. “Saved by the bell.” She rose and headed to the door and stared up at Liz, whose hands were visibly shaking. “Liz, are you alright? Come in?”
Liz stepped inside and cleared her throat. “My ex-boyfriend was released from prison and now I know he’s going to find me.”
Bella’s chest tightened as the world around her washed away with the terror filling the air around them.
