CHAPTER 8: TAUNTING Climbing the few steps to the church and walking through the heavy red door on Saturday, Bella smelled incense mixed with women’s perfume. She wondered why women who were learning Tai Chi would be wearing perfume when they’d be exerting themselves during the class. The atmosphere inside the church was fresh and noisy. She nodded to a few of the students then started her warm-up exercises.
