CHAPTER 9: A NATURE OUTING The next day, Sunday, Bella walked alongside her friends, Jamie and Liz at the Williamstown Beach. Her feet stepped on the uneven surface of the concrete squares, feeling the salt-laden air brush her cheeks, and the sun searing her head. She focused on the double-story beach houses, the passersby going in to the cafe across the beach, and Liz walking on top of the stone fence along the shore. Cawing seagulls surrounded her and settled on the mahogany wooden benches, then moved across to the hedge with its stone edging. Palm trees, canoes, and bike-stands lined the distance as the girls continued to walk along the beach, passing the kiosk and following the horizon. “So, Bella, What did you want to talk about?” Liz asked as she stepped down from the stone fence.
