Chapter 29: The Province of AnothMarika, like the others, had read the warning sent by the Teacher. Should she rush to Beltran where Dickon was? What if he were rushing here. Worse, the disaster predicted meant that all the engineering feats of the last thirty or fifty years had to be in a safe place and the warnings could not tell them where the safe place should be located. It meant each province and continent had to save them all and there wasn't time.
She gathered what she could and took them to the basement of Auer Enterprises. At least this was built with solid cement and rebar and not masonry blocks that might crumble. “We need a cement box or container for these,” she told the attendant in charge.
“We only have wooden ones,” was his reply.
“That could burn,” she snapped.
