Transformation

Charles gets used to his school and is a very hard-working young boy as she goes through all his stages of education. He is a determined young man who does everything in his ability and power to make her mother happy in whatever effort she is making to bring a bright Future to him.

Winnie on the other side is a girl that comes from an able family and knows no trouble since her childhood life. Her father is a well known person in the country and owns a couple of businesses in almost every corner in the city and outside the city. Despite all this, Winnie is always working extra hard in her classes so as to attain what she has worked for and make her parents proud. Winnies mother was a very harsh one and could not entertain anything that she thought was not right for her children. Winnie had two siblings that is Richard and Kelly who were her youngest and were also studying in a school nearby since their parents would not let them study in one school to avoid them becoming a nuisance to their eldest sister.

Charles and Winnie had become very good friends as they grew up both of then now in their teens. Everything they did was fruitful and most of the time they could be used as good examples to the other children in the school. Charles was always good in mathematics and most of the time in class their teacher would let him guide the rest of the class since he grasped most of the content very quickly.

As time went by, Lillian had some difficulties in running her restaurant and it could be found closed most of the time due to her ability to accomplish all the work that was required to serve all her customers. Charles would at times miss school just to help her mother operate in the restaurant since she could not do much without Charles’s help and hiring an extra worker would be costly because all the little profits she got from the business was used to pay Charles’s school fee and all his requirements in school.

One fine evening as Charles had spend the entire day in the restaurant helping her mom since this had forced him to skip the days classes, one of his school teachers who always had Charles as her favorite student dropped by the restaurant since she was very curious to know the reason that made Charles skip classes. She entered the restaurant and she was warmly welcomed with Charles who was also happy to see her. Charles served her a cup of coffee and went by and sat with her at the table.

“What brings you here madam, it’s unusual of you to stop by the restaurant especially at this time of the day, I hope everything is alright madam?” Charles asked knowing what might have brought her there.

“Everything is not okay Charles,I can see you are very busy at the moment but that is not enough reason to miss school today, what’s happening?” Her teacher replied without hesitation.

Charles decided to explain to her the reason as to why he had to miss classes due to her mom’s condition and the restaurant could not be closed anymore since it was their only source of income. Lillian was at home during that day since she wasn’t feeling okay and she was getting old and could not afford to do most of the heavy work in the restaurant. Charles’s teacher sympathized with Charles and came up with an idea to help out Charles attend all the classes.

“You see Charles, you are approaching your final graduation exams and I would not like it when you miss anymore classes since you are required to study hard and get well prepared” said her teacher as she finished her coffee and handed back the cup to Charles.

“My eldest sister is jobless and she would be more than willing to come and help your mother run everything in the restaurant” said the madam as she stood up.

Charles saw this as a great idea and was very happy of her teacher. He humbly accepted this offer and was so happy as he closed down the place to go home and share the message to her mother.

Luckily enough, everything worked out as they had planned and on the following week Lillian was so happy when she met Grace,a woman just about her age but looked stronger for whatever reasons. Grace was very hard-working and was of great impact to both Charles’s and Lillian’s life. Grace was now viewed as part of their family since she was always around with them and shared most of their happy moments.

Charles goes about his learning and start sitting for his final examination but he is hit with a lot of depression since the person he loved and cherished the most in his life suffers a critical condition and gets admitted. Charles gets distracted and does not pass his exams as required and does not graduate as the rest of his classmates including his favorite friend Winnie graduate to college. Charles is forced to take care of Lillian in hospital who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder which had lately created a lot of impact in Charles’s education.

Charles is forced to take a break and nurse her ailing mum back at home with the help of Grace who was also putting more effort in helping them as she viewed them as part of her life because of the great impact they had brought in their life. They had shifts in taking care of Lillian and working in the restaurant since both situations had to be taken care off. Charles’s teacher, Grace’s youngest sister was so unhappy of the news about Charles not graduating despite all the effort she had offered in order to enable Charles complete his education.

As time went by, Charles was not able to go back to school and complete his education and this changed his life a lot since it was like a wound that could not be healed soon.
