Weird Discoveries

Being a new week Esther feels very strange about everything. She prepares the children for the day and helps them even in the cleaning activities. After some time she realises father Edward is not around and now she has to take everything in control. After finishing almost everything she heads to the gate and meets Peter having his breakfast. He immediately stands up and greats the sister you could think he was doing something wrong.

"Good morning sister,how is your morning?" He asks as he aranges everything in his small room.

"I am okay,how are you." She reaponds as she takes a seat outside peters door.

"Uhhmm, Peter is father Edward around, i have not seen him since i woke up ".

"Ooh, about that he left very early in the morning but he did not inform me of anything or anywhere he was going to, i thought you knew about it" Peter seems shocked as he asks but it doesn't seem to be a big deal but what brothers Esther is that she had never seen him leave that early and he had always informed him about all his plans or whenever he wanted to leave.

"It's okay Peter i am sure he had a very good reason to leave that early or maybe he had some serious issue like an emergency situation he had to attend to".she says and prepares to leave but peter stops her.

"But their is one more thing sister"

"What is it Peter" she asks as she turns and waits for what Peter has to tell her.

"Yesternight i noticed that father Edward stayed till late at night and did not turn of his light the whole night, i think something might be bothering him, he left very early not in a good mood, perhaps you should check out and see whats up with him sister,i have never seen him this stressed out" Peter says this as he looked so serious.

"Is that so,well i will have a word with him as soon as he is back and see what's going on" Esther leaves and she is so shocked with Peters words and she really needed to make a follow up to see if it really was an issue or it was just Peters speculations and assumptions he made.

She heads to father Edwards office and finds it not locked and this also implies something since he rarely left his office unlocked at any time. She slowly enters the room and have a look at everything round without touching anything. She heads to the table and notices a document on the table. This reminds her on the previous day when father Edward left the session they had for some few minutes with a letter on his hands, he seemed to be dealing with something that might be bothering him and did not inform anyone, maybe it's because he never wanted to get anyone bothered or he was trying to keep it a secret. Esther thought it was wrong to check on some private document and knew how to maintain privacy but her curiosity was also pushing her so had at the same time. She felt like it was so unfair and at the same time she felt that she will miss something if she doesn't have a look at the details or information in the document. She looks straight through the open door and forgets everything and unfolds the document and starts reading its content. It is a letter from the court and it is of child support rights. This shocks her and wants to go down reading everything but one thing about her she was not a good listener. Sarah walks feom the kitchen carrying father Edward's breakfast in some tray and heads for his office before she could look around for him. He comes and finds his office door opened and on reaching the office she almost knocks over Esther who was also getting out.

"Sorry!" Esther moves aside to allow her enter and places the breakfast on his desk. She had never before had sarahs voice and they had never communicated well since she arrived at the orphanage.

"Why are you here, father Edward does not allow that" sarah asks her and she has a rusty voice and so shaky.

"I came to see him and did not find him at the office" Esther replies pretending not to know that he was not around at all. Sarah says nothing again but walks out. Esther locks the door but father Edward's telephone rings before she could leave. She releases the door knob and heads back to have a look and as usual her curiosity never fails her, she picks the telephone and answers it. She does not speek first and hears a mans voice and it was so familiar.

"Hello, father how are you?" Indeed it was brians voice, she removes the phone from her ear but does not hang up. Brian keeps on trying to talk but notices no one answering and hangs up. She places the phone back, closes the door and goes away. She is even more shocked from what she has seen in the office and needs a minute to take it all. She goes to the dining to have her breakfast while the children were now outside some playing some studying. She dsits down and does not seem to figure it out why there is a child support letter on father Edward's desk and it was a complain letter from a lady claiming for child support. This implied that father Edward had a story behind him that he did not want to share with anybody and his time was now running out and things could get even worse. She started loosing trust in him since she had known him as a very good person and he was like a role model to her. She takes her breakfast and also prepares to go for a walk outside the orphange she had to take a little break and she knew a perfect place to go.
